The office was aware that I declined ANY type of fluoride treatment at my cleaning. So let's install a slow releasing poison into my bloodstream instead?? No other dentist I've spoken of had heard of this, and are appalled that I was used in my filling without my consent. Fluoride is toxic and a poison which is proven to cause autoimmune diseases/ which any educated dentist should be aware of. A simple "Google" will provide this information. Unfortunately, many dentist choose to turn a blind eye in order to charge patients extra and in turn jeopardizing their patients long term health. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

In the few times I have gone, I have witnessed first hand that Scheive Family Dental is a family practice with a family feel - I really like this. I have had some routine work done (fillings) which of course are never fun. While Dr. Scheive is on the young side for a dentist, I never felt that she was not in control of the situation. I visited 3 orthodontists in the area and checked out many things - availability, parking, what they recommended and of course price. I picked Dr. Head because he is an INVOLVED orthodontist. He only has 3 or 4 chairs in the back, not 6 or 8 like others. He spends lots of time with his patients and is available for questions. You can talk to him anytime your child has an appointment. The other docs I checked out had a large staff who did almost all the work on the patient and the doc would waltz in for a few seconds here and there. His office doesn't have anything fancy like video games or give out t-shirts to their patients, but I don't want to pay for that. I just want my boys to have straight teeth and have a doctor that is available and honest. I have 4 friends whose children are Dr. Head's patients based on my recommendation. I think that says it all.

His office is very nice, and his office staff is friendly and professional. Dr. Head, himself, is pretty good, though I can't speak to him that much, since replacement retainers take such little time and commitment from the orthodontist. In fact, when I came back to pick up the retainer after it was molded to my mouth, I'm pretty sure Dr. Head never even saw me come in. The price of the retainer was quite fair, given the price of retainers, and I don't think there was an office visit fee. Last time I was there, they charged extra if you used a credit card. Not sure if the policy is still the same. Overall, not a bad place to go.
