This is what I consider to be the best fish and chip shop in the Cardiff bay area. It's all to easy…read moreto be drawn into one of the franchises that are around thinking that you will get top quality fish and chips. The reality is that this small shop tucked quietly around the corner from Mermaid Quay offers the crispiest of batter and the best cooked chips you will find in this part of town. You may well find yourself queuing up outside the door for service but if that doesn't tell you something, when you get inside the door and see how well kept the food preparation areas are, and then you are greeted by the friendly staff who are clearly rushed off of their feet, you will notice that the prices are very reasonable. This is a locally owned store rather than a large franchise and the quality of the freshly cooked fish really shows the difference. If you're in the bay and want this kind of take away food then you should definitely make the 2 minute journey away from the bay to give them a try.
