I felt like the guy didn't overly enjoy looking up prices of Pokémon the first time or two when my kids asked about individual cards, but now he is more patient with them. Maybe realized that we do buy some of the cards we asked about, not just ask about tons of cards and never buy anything. Their sports card selection seems to vary from a lot of individual cards at a given time, to not too many. Same goes for the boxes available to purchase. The reason I only give them 2 stars is base upon the way they do business. There is no true focus on the hobby itself. Which IS card collecting. the presentation of their store is good but daunting if you are on the hunt. The display cases need to be updated with correct pricing and need to be comp'ed almost daily as the market fluctuates so much. Now the real problem with this store is the value boxes if you can even call them that. These boxes are everywhere, some organization but not enough, about 60% is junk. Either is out of date players and lots of the same cards or the cards are damaged from being crammed in the boxes a forgotten about. These cards are in various stages or pricing but a never update, they are priced once and never touch again. With the amount of cards in these sections I understand you can't keep up on pricing but if you want to move this inventory and clean this up you have to be willing to negotiate. I been here several times pulled out a stack of cards that I want from the large mess they have sat down did my comps and decided what I willing to pay. Every time I go to the counter I know I about to get taken for a ride. They count up the price as they are marked and as the total gets far past what you've decided to pay you hope the negotiation will start. Then they hit you with the price way over your total, there final offer is taking a max of 20% off, some cards being marked double what they're worth. You explain that you have done your comps and this is what you willing to pay. But in the end you either walk with the cards or take the hit and pay bloated prices. But there inventory never moves from the value boxes just a bunch of junk with some valuable cards mixed end that you'll probably never see and if you do you won't get a value at all. Then a new release comes out they price some cards once shove them in there and there and the cycle continues. I've been here several times I drive a ways to get there it is not my LCS, and every time when I leave I say I'm never going back, this time I was at a show close by but it will be my last.

That's above MSRP, but still reasonable if you can't find them at retail. Yesterday, before making the 30-minute drive, I called again to confirm prices. I asked about Prismatic Evolutions, Pokémon 151, and Scarlet & Violet. The employee knew some of the prices himself but asked a female coworker to help with and confirm the others. I could clearly hear their conversation over the phone. Between the two of them, they quoted Prismatic Evolutions at $15 per pack, Pokémon 151 at $30 per pack, and Scarlet & Violet at $9 per pack. After confirming the prices, the employee repeated them to me, so I made the drive based on the information they gave me. When I arrived, the Scarlet & Violet packs were marked $12 each. I told them I had literally just called and was quoted $9 per pack. Instead of acknowledging that the wrong price had been given over the phone, the female employee denied that anyone had ever quoted me $9 and even claimed that no one had spoken to me on the phone. That made absolutely no sense since I had called less than 30 minutes earlier, heard the employee ask her for help confirming prices, and then heard the prices they gave me. The extra $3 per pack wasn't even the biggest issue. Mistakes happen. What bothered me was the dishonesty and refusal to simply say, "I'm sorry, we gave you the wrong price over the phone." Instead, they acted like I was making it up. To make things worse, another customer laughed and said, "The price is $12 for you, haha." Whether it was a joke or not, it made the experience even worse. What they don't realize is that if they had simply honored the quoted price--or even admitted the mistake--I was prepared to spend a couple thousand dollars that day on ETBs, booster packs, and singles. Instead, they lost a customer over $3 a pack and the way they handled the situation. It felt like a bait-and-switch. They tell you one price over the phone, charge a different price when you arrive, and then deny ever giving you the original quote or even speaking to you. Customer service and honesty go a long way, and this place showed me exactly how they treat customers. Save yourself the drive, your time, and your money. There are plenty of better card shops that deserve your business.
