I desperately needed a fill when I got to Hamilton this weekend and not only were these ladies able to take me immediately, but they had a great color selection and were super helpful. I was very impressed with the knowledge and skill of the woman who did my fill (I'm so rude and didn't get her name - based on her interactions with the other people on staff, I suspect she's the owner), because she immediately identified that one of my nails in particular had WAY too much acrylic on it and that that would damage my natural nail. My fill was beautifully done and she was very attentive not only to the shape of my (stupid-long, coffin-shaped) nails, but also to the underside of the nails. Her super nice daughter took over for my polish, and she too was extra attentive and meticulous. I chose a super cute polish with teensy cherry blossom glitter (Petal Soft from OPI) in it - cute but kind of a pain in the butt to wrangle to get ideal flower placement. She made sure to get the flowers perfectly scattered and laid flat, and they look awesome! Both ladies were really nice and very pleasant to chat with, though they weren't pushy and I could tell that if I'd wanted to just be quiet and not talk, they would have been cool with that too. I'm conflicted as the original girl who was shaping my nails got bullied into servicing this lady who was upset because she couldn't make her appointment yesterday but wanted to get her nails done today. My friend and I took some time to search for a decent nail salon because more than 50% of the nail salons in Hamilton have ratings of either 2 stars or less, but we were in the mall anyways and decided to try it out since it was too cold to go elsewhere. From the get-go the lady was fairly nice, the usual procedure: asked us what nails we wanted, colour, etc. And we only waited for about 10 minutes before we got seated, no appointments made. The place was also quite busy when we got there, almost every seat taken up. At first, I got frustrated with the lady who helped me with my nails because she kept asking me if I wanted shellac when I wanted acrylic but she couldn't interpret what I was tryna say to her. In the end, I got shellac and my nails turned out much nicer than I anticipated despite the miscommunication we had about what type of nails I wanted. I don't live in Hamilton but I will probably come back if I'm ever back in town.
