Poor customer service. Very abrupt! During pedicure , very rough nicking me twice. I had to ask to have my old polish removed. Extremely rushed, which was surprising as I had booked an appointment. Please do better! read more

Made an appnt at 2:30 for my mom and I. Got there right on time. Had to wait 10 min. Then they take me and told my mom it would be another 5 minutes for her. They didn't even put us beside each other! It was the fastest pedicure I've ever had. Hardly any foot massaging and then someone came in and they wanted the chair so she actually put my polish on at the table where they do manicures and sat on the floor to paint my toe nails!! Surprised to see the reviews that were previously posted on here. I thought my nails were done quite well in comparison to my previous nail salon experiences back in Markham/Richmond Hill. My friend and I took some time to search for a decent nail salon because more than 50% of the nail salons in Hamilton have ratings of either 2 stars or less, but we were in the mall anyways and decided to try it out since it was too cold to go elsewhere. From the get-go the lady was fairly nice, the usual procedure: asked us what nails we wanted, colour, etc. And we only waited for about 10 minutes before we got seated, no appointments made. The place was also quite busy when we got there, almost every seat taken up. At first, I got frustrated with the lady who helped me with my nails because she kept asking me if I wanted shellac when I wanted acrylic but she couldn't interpret what I was tryna say to her. In the end, I got shellac and my nails turned out much nicer than I anticipated despite the miscommunication we had about what type of nails I wanted. I don't live in Hamilton but I will probably come back if I'm ever back in town. read more

L'amour Nails - Powder gel with shellac nails - Nail Salons Near Me - Hamilton, Ontario

EDIT:I have been going here for months, every 2 weeks. I have gotten to know the girls working there and they always remember me when I come in. I called to book an appointment the other day and asked the cost for to them remove my gel nails (I usually just bite and break them off myself) the lady on the phone told me $5 to remove them, so long as you are getting them done, if not, $15 just to remove. When I went in, half way thru removing them, the lady told me it was $10 to have them taken off if I was getting shellac after and only $5 if I was getting gel after. What I don't understand is why the price differs for taking the nails off, regardless of what I'm doing to my nails after. It's the exact same process for removing the old set. THEN, after starting my shellac, they said there machine was down and I had to pay cash.. All I had was my visa on me, I had left my purse at work with everything else (didn't want to carry it around the mall). I asked if I could leave my visa with them and come back the next day with cash or pay with my visa if the machine was up, and they said no. We'll here I am, with nails half done and no way to pay them. She wouldn't finish my nails unless someone came and brought me cash. So my husband had to drive all the way from Burlington to drop me off $40. Absolutely crazy considering I'm there every 2 weeks and they didn't let me know untill after they removed all my gel nails and were half way thru preping my nails for shellac that the machine was down. So upsetting considering I really loved going here, but sadly, I won't be returning. Not a very good way to treat a loyal customer. OLD REVIEW: Hands down best place to get your nails done in the Hamilton area. Great fast work and very clean! Only downside is they are ALWAYS crazy busy so you must have an appointment. Most of te time they are running behind so your appointment starts late. They are a little more pricey then your standard "LA nails" or typical nail salon but is WELL worth the extra money. My friend and I went there tonight, and talk about plain rude! First of all, the lady doing my nails and the one doing my Friends , they were snickering and laughing to eachother and we clearly knew it was about us, secondly , when my friend was chatting with me , "Jenna,", the lady doing her nails told her "hey!" , in the middle of our conversation. I'm sorry, but you don't say that to a customer... so what, we can't talk now? And thirdly, when my friend was watching her do her nails , "jenna" told her "don't look at me, watch the tv" ...?! Pardon? She can look at whatever she wants! Oh .. and it also took 2 hours to do get nails... and I've never had it take that long.. needless to say , I WILL NOT go back there ever again! read more

This nail salon looks attractive (nice decor, comfortable chairs, all staff dressed in black) but their manicure services are terrible. I got a shellac manicure, and almost every nail has a gap, and nail beds can be seen. On two fingers, the polish doesn't even cover the tip of my nail. There's no "fresh" feeling to this manicure. It looks like it's a week old. I got chevron design on two nails, and it's uneven, and it does not look professional. The lines are thick and the design is uneven on my two different fingers. When I asked about the gaps- the they blamed my nails! When I asked about the terribly done design-they also blamed my nails again. I have been getting my nails done for over a decade, and have never been told anything like this. I often get designs and they almost always look great (and even!) I would never go back here due to their lack of skill and professionalism when questioned about their poor work. read more

This is probably one of the more expensive places to have your nails done in the city, but it's the only place I'll go to have my hands done. I've been going here many years and pay the price as they offer various levels of pedicure services in a very clean, nice environment. I'd recommend booking an appointment, especially on an evening or weekend, because it can get quite busy since it is in the mall. The staff is friendly and nice and have always been able to safely remove an ingrown nail I've had. They truly do give you the massage you pay for with your package and are good at what they do. A wide choice of colours and they have never done a bad job with application. read more

I was at the Salon to book an appointment, the girl at the desk made me wait while she took 5 phone calls. Another customer left because she was tired of waiting. When I questioned her about taking care of the customers in front of her and mentioned that the other customer had left, her response was that if we wanted our nails done we would wait. Fortunately, the girl that does my nails is wonderful so I ask for her every time. read more

I had a great experience at "L'Amour Nails" I chose to have gel nails with French tip and they turned out very pretty! The wait while she did my nails may have taken an hour, but was bearable with such nice staff. The girls made sure to be thorough and precise with my nails. They also offer alternatives to gel nails such as biogel, solar and acrylic. Again, very happy with my nails as they have lasted over a week and look great. read more

The technicians are always rude. I've only ever gotten my acrylic nails done here. The finished product is always excellent though. Worth the extra $10 or so than any other salon. Very even shape, no gaps, never any flaws. I have had to wait over an hour after my scheduled appointment because they were overbooked and busy. This review is for the Eastgate Square location: I had my gel nails done a week ago, and a few days later a couple of the nails started lifting from the sides of my real nails. It has only been ONE week and I need a whole new set. Any Google search, friend or co-worker will tell you that your gel set should last 2 weeks. My last gel set lasted 2 weeks from Chinda's Nail Salon in Stoney Creek and I had been playing both volleyball and baseball 2-3 times each week. L'amour Nails was more expensive, charged an extra $10 to cut the skin around the cuticle back, and I haven't played any sports that would cause the nails to come off the way they have. When I asked them if there was anything I could do with the lifted nails myself (e.g. sand them down, anything really!) the girl decided I have "oily nails" and that's why the nails were lifting; no offer to fix them or even a discount for next time. She suggested I come back to have them filed and fill them in; at full price of course. Very poor quality for the price. Avoid this location, there are plenty of decent salons to get your nails done elsewhere. read more
