The building is filthy. There are ongoing infestations of ants and roaches, and the water often comes out brown. The food served to residents is disgusting and clearly not prepared with health or dignity in mind. The facility is constantly understaffed and severely under-supplied. There are not enough basic necessities like diapers and washcloths, to the point that residents feel forced to hoard supplies just to make sure they have something for themselves. Clothing regularly goes missing and is never recovered. Management is completely absent when it comes to protecting residents. They do nothing to prevent abuse, and concerns are ignored. It feels like management only cares about lining their own pockets rather than ensuring safety, cleanliness, or humane care. I have personally witnessed feces on the floors, blood left uncleaned, and a total lack of urgency or accountability. Even more disturbing, sexual abuse allegations are not taken seriously. This place strips residents of dignity and safety. Families deserve to know what really goes on behind these doors. Please think twice before trusting Tower Hill Nursing Home with anyone you love.

The ones that are responsible for protecting patients from harm, are a revolving door of young staff who find areas of the building where there are no cameras so they can be on their phones; many times while patients resort to yelling for help because staff ignores the call lights that are going off continuously. I have heard staff mocking the people who are in need of help. Very little safety is done to protect them from germs, or infectious diseases like influenza, staph, or even MRSA (which was making his rounds while I was there ) and viruses let alone Covid. The doctors are here 2-3 times weekly and at most will spend 5 minutes listening to the genuine health concerns. The showers are filthy and rarely clean. There is practically zero nutrition in the food provided, which was ALWAYS cold. Twice I saw raw sewage leaking from pipes in the ceiling. The smell of human waste can linger in the air for hours. If someone is bedridden, they may lay in their own waste for a long time. The social worker Kami is an unpleasant, unprofessional, and rude excuse of human who will not spend any time seeking out aftercare services. She will blame this on her heavy "case load." Still what I found most concerning, besides all this, is Tower Hill's complete inability to properly track medications. There were repeatedly days where my medication was "out," without any prior notification. Once I went almost 5 days before anyone told me that I hadn't been receiving a very important mental health medication". There were some people who genuinely cared, like Mariah, Lindsey, Naomi, Mani, Alyson, and some of the nursing staff. It's very sad that these individuals are the only ones who care. Again, DO NOT send your family members here, even if care for them in the slightest bit.

She had a caregiver 24/7 when she lived at home and the quality of care was really poor. The care that my mother in law is getting is exceptional! The caregivers make sure each resident is fed, hydrated, changed, bathed. We have never gone there to find my mother in law in any distress. The caregivers know when something is bothering each resident and are very well in tune to each one. The house she is in is immaculate. Her caregivers are very knowledgeable on geriatric care. If we knew about Halina's when my father in law had his stroke he would have been there!

From not changing, bathing, or moving my grandfather out of bed, my grandmother asking to get up and walk and them not helping her, and to the promise (it was a promise she told my family from day 1) that no one would get bed sores but my grandfather got one and said that "he came in with it", I feel that I was misled and let down from the care that I was told they were going to receive. Hearing my grandma say to me while people were touring the home, "I wish they knew what really happens, the truth" I felt a part of me being crushed. My grandfather has passed away and not a day passes by that I wish we never moved them into that "home".

I interviewed many agencies and felt that Home Instead was the best fit for her. Since then she has had the same caregiver come every week. The caregiver is a lovely person who has really come to care about my mom. Earlier this year my mom fell while I was out of town. While I was still at the airport to fly home, I called Home Instead again about what her options could be. They responded right away and worked with me and my mom to get her the help she needed for the next couple of weeks until she got her strength back. I have only good things to say about Home Instead. They have gone the extra miles to make sure my mom is safe and happy and to help her keep the independence that is so important to her. They have been flexible and have adjusted to her needs and requests, and they really care about her. My mom wants to stay in her own home and maintain her own independence, and Home Instead has been an integral part of that.

A friend of mine also went to get an ultrasound and we had a similar experience... we both wanted an abortion and at the end of the visit the nurse said a prayer for us which was weird because what if we weren't Christian? The nurse there wasn't very friendly she was very stern she didn't know that I also work in the medical field and when I shared some information she talked to me like if I was slow. she just wants to read her pamphlets and say her prayer and then when gave me these "helpful" pamphlets for support to be able to keep my baby... none of those places help you! I threw the whole paper away. All of this prolife information they give you and none of the places even respond when you want the help. In my opinion don't even tell them you want to abort because it's just awkward and not friendly in there. It's just a Christian nurse that wants you to bring a baby full term and doesn't care about what happens after.
