As one of the oldest operating bars in Saratoga Springs, it has been around since the 70's. Apparently many musical greats used to hang out here after gigs. If you skim through some of the Yelp reviews of Tin 'n' Lint - you'll find accounts of those that used to patronize this spot back in the day. It's obviously done something right throughout the years. Today it's a welcoming spot for local regulars and passerbys. It is a simple straightforward bar that isn't trying to be anything that it's not. The booths and tables are etched with names and memories. The walls are lined with old photos. It's brimming with historical captures of fond happy times - and of people coming together. Tin 'n' Lint proved to be a ideal spot for catching up with some of my husband's friends from the area a number of weeks back. Snagging a spacious booth was easy and there was never a wait to order drinks. The jukebox would intermittently play a diverse array of tunes throughout our time here, and we watched a number of people playing pool. I appreciated that this cozy spot was well lit - allowing for solid people watching and enabling you to easily catch up with friends and/or potentially make new ones. It is an expansion of a menu offered Wednesday to Saturday nights. (Times Union) Every Sunday until Labor Day they will be serving Caribbean dishes. The dishes change every week. This week he had. Curry Goat, smothered pork chops, jerk chicken and fried chicken. Each dish came with peas and rice, Mac and cheese and collards. I got the fried chicken dinner! The chicken was fried well and tender and moist. I'll be back next week and he said he will have ox tails! The meals are served in the outside courtyard with a slamming DJ and an outdoor bar. There is ample free street parking, but also nearby garages and parking lots. The service was terrific and everyone was super friendly! I'll be back!
