The install went well. The problem came afterward when the new by-pass doors on one closet needed to be trimmed to the proper length to accommodate the floor guides for the doors. That's when we learned how defensive and unpleasant dealing with Affordable Floors in Newton can be. It is my understanding that trimming doors is the responsibility of the floor installer since the installer will know the finished height of the floor and the guides. Affordable Floors absolutely refused to do that final part of the job, claiming they would not touch new doors....!!?? (But they would trim old doors??) They say it doesn't matter the size of the project but when…read morewe spend $5,000 on a main floor there's no issue, but when we spend $750 on a bathroom floor... TOTAL NIGHTMARE. STILL have yet to get back money from work that was never performed. Tired of calling and dealing with both Lumber Liquidators and Watson. First issue was that when we ordered the floor we were told the floor would be in by the end of the week and the installed the week after. Sounds simple right? Wrong. Took two weeks to get the product, then LL never told Watson we picked up the floor. So I'm calling and calling LL for a week straight and they say they will take care of it. I finally get fed up and call Watson. Ok so finally get an install date. They come to install and we ask, "hey, any chance you can use the leftover moisture barrier from the last project so we can return this new roll we were told to buy for this project?" The installers say they don't even need the moisture barrier at all. Interesting since Watson made us buy it. So anyway, project is all done and we had so much leftover product! $200 of extra product on a small bathroom floor. Turns out that we never needed the moisture barrier and LL didn't know what they were talking about. I also went over the invoice and found charges for work that was never preformed by Watson and charges on the invoices for work that never needed to be done in the first place. From them screwing up the measurements and making us order way too much product, to LL telling us how they will make it better. Well it's been months since we began this project and still not completely resolved. You can bet that we will not be back, nor will any of our family and friends. These two companies have horrible communication between each other. Buy the floor elsewhere and find a different install company that knows what they are talking about. The only reason this is getting 2 stars is because the floor does look good. Now I just need to finish the caulking and trim work that Watson never completed! Ben at LL, you tried to be helpful and I appreciate it, but I'm tired of calling you to get both of these companies to fix this message.
