First he forgot, or just didn't do it, to drop my Hometown Health insurance so I was still billed for insurance I no longer needed or wanted. This took several calls to Hometown Health and Renown to fix. Second, when he signed me up with Medicare he kept my Hometown Health insurance listed as primary even though it should have been cancelled. This was confirmed by Medicare. So now that I'm on Medicare all my Dr bills are bouncing to me as Medicare is listed as my secondary insurance, not primary as it should be. It's taken me hours on the phone via several calls with Medicare to get this ironed out and corrected. I'm told it will take 10 days for the Medicare records to update and in the meantime as I continue to see doctors they are having all their bills bounce back and now they are billing me. My advice is seek a different solution than Aware Benefits.

I always like to know what my cost is, and had a difficult time last year with getting the quoted amount of my co pay fee for my Reclast infusion. It seems the medical insurance industry is broken and out of control, especially with the pharmaceutical companies. Also, tried to use the benefits debit card for over the counter items (have $30 credit to use). Tried to use it at CVS - Excedrin Migraine med and Icy Cold and two prescriptions the total came to $29.55 and the card was declined. Mind you I spoke with customer service about the card the day before and was told I had $30.00 over the counter on approved items (pain relief, etc.) and $6.00 for prescriptions. It only approved the $4.00 for prescriptions and declined the rest. I love my doctor, Dr. Thyssen, she is amazing she listening carefully, giving me the time to explain my issue and concerns. I never feel rushed when I go to her, she has the best bed-sidemanners, professional presence and is so personable. If you are looking for a compassionate doctor that truly cares about her patients she is it.

Ms. Schryer is both thoroughly competent and unfailingly resourceful in what I have found to be a sea of insurance-industry indifference, incompetence and bureaucracy. My mother's home and car were insured by a major national company whose name is prioritized in an alphabetical list. Upon her passing, it was utterly impossible to continue home and car coverage through them, despite my being on titles for both. After several phone calls and my satisfying their multiple requests that ended up being irrelevant, I had believed it was simply impossible to continue coverage while I was out of the country. A friend suggested either an insurance broker or a more local company. I am grateful to past reviewers that led me to Rachael Schryer in the office of Eric Olivas. With Ms. Schryer, not only was I able to obtain coverage for my mom's home without issue, but also her car. Unfortunately, I only realized that I filled out the wrong DMV form when I was finally forwarded a notice that the DMV had cancelled the car registration. Based on the DMV website, I would have had to pay over $1000 and wait 45 days before I could get anything straightened out. Ms. Schryer went above and beyond in helping me get the mess straightened out for much less cost and delay by connecting me with a DMV agent who was just as helpful. In closing, I cannot recommend Rachael Schryer in the office of Eric Olivas enough. Insurance is one of those things that you hope is uneventful, but when things go wrong, you want someone exceedingly competent and helpful on your side.
