Cojo's also stock Louth school uniforms which is very useful. I think Louth is defined by shops like Cojo's which supply a clear market need and are run professionally by friendly staff. Although I have to admit to hardly ever needing to visit them - ours isn't the most sporting of families!

Great for kids like me to play and paddle in. The stream is apparently Tennysons Babbling Brook. Walk along the stream path or climb and walk the top path above the trees. I fell down here age 13. I looked like Steven Boyd after the chariot race in Ben Hur..grabbed for a root to stop my slide and rolled to the bottom. It is VERY high and a long way down. Park in the farm field..full of wild rabbits. Have a tea or ice cream in the cafe. There is a brick built loo block. Many a happy day spent here.

Rushmoor have a fantastic party room, which can be hired for a small fee, and they also provide party food from the tea rooms so it's an excellent venue for a children's party. It's very close to Louth, so not as far to travel as somewhere like Rand Farm, and its very reasonably priced. There are loads of animals to see and the people who run the farm are extremely friendly. My daughter actually fed the lambs on one of her visits and still talks about it to this day. I suppose its only criticism would be its smallness, but this could be considered a good thing too. It's a shame that more people don't go there to be honest.

Campaigners fought for years to get Spout Yard recognised and then turned into a park, and what a…read morejob they have done - it's a total asset to the town. It's transformed an area of waste ground into a pretty, sun-trap park complete with an outdoor theatre, childrens' play areas, picnic tables and a little refreshments stall. It's humbling that this facility is staffed by volunteers, and funded by donations. We are lucky enough to live within easy walking distance of Spout Yard and spend a lot of time there in warmer weather. There are sheltered spots for parents to lie in the shade while their children play, and the park is adjacent to a shallow part of the river Lud, where children can paddle when it's hot. It's a gated park, and feels very safe; it's also maintained beautifully. Can't praise it enough.

It's a perfect size - not so big that you lose sight of your children, but not so small that older children don't get any fun out of it. In fact, school-age children love it, and there's also a baby/toddler room for the littlies. There are trampolines, big slides, tunnel slides and climbing ropes, plus a mini football pitch. Oh, and books to read and a dressing-up box! Prices are reasonable and you can pay for everything (including food, drink and snacks) at the end as you leave, which is very convenient. I'd like to specially highlight the fact that the food at Quackers is very healthy - party food includes carrot and cucumber sticks with hummus, and snacks range from jacket potatotes to wholemeal sandwiches (although white ones are available too). It's little extra touches like this that make Quackers worth visiting regularly.
