I wanted to like Girl Friday Cleaning Company, but overall, the experience was disappointing and not worth the $48/hour rate. The cleaning was sub-par and not reflective of the premium pricing.
We were asked to provide a detailed priority list in advance, which we did -- with bathrooms listed as the top priority and the specific order clearly laid out. Despite this, one of the bathrooms (the downstairs one, which was marked as high priority) was completely missed. I was told afterward that the cleaner chose to work in a way they found more "efficient," which disregarded the priorities we were explicitly asked to provide. That's not a client-centered approach.
I was also told that all cleaning supplies would be included. However, a significant amount of my premium toilet paper and paper towels were used to clean, without my permission or knowledge. Not only was this unprofessional, but it also wasn't disclosed beforehand and shouldn't have happened.
The quality of cleaning was disappointing: the microwave was still dirty, the grout was untouched, and toilet bowls had visible stains. It felt rushed and not detail-oriented.
To make matters worse, when I brought up these concerns with the owner, I found the response dismissive. Instead of taking accountability or offering a resolution, they doubled down on excuses and told me we "just weren't a good match." There was no real concern for the poor quality of work or my experience as a client.
For a service charging nearly $50/hour, I expected a much higher standard of professionalism, care, and customer service. I can't recommend Girl Friday based on this experience. read more
