This place reminded me of the Marz bar where I was a regular in NYC a lot in the 90's. The interior decor is mainly kisch and you feel like being on set on a John Waters film. They don't serve cocktails but pussytails. I know, a tourist trap but still all fun. Wifey and I wondered if this was a transvestite bar since it's decorated with pretty gay and pin up collages. You get free snacks when ordering, but we all know that salt make the average customer buy an extra unit. The staff is friendly and prices better than my hotel across the road, Barceló Raval. The place seems to have quite a few friendly regulars and we seemed to fit in immediately. But watch your valuables, a pick pocket dropped in and made a move on Wifey but was chased out by the nice bartender David. I highly enjoyed myself there and will return tonight and try to remember a bit more than last night. Most highly recommended.

This review will be for their Sunday night Flamenco show. First of all, I'd like to say that i know…read morenothing about the arts, i am not any way a dancer, and i don't look for anything theatrical when i travel. I must say their flamenco show was one of the best experience of my short trip to Barcelona. The bar is a tiny spot on a very sketchy street about 5 blocks from La Rambla metro station. If you don't have your GPS, you could easily miss it. We walk in to a €5 charge to watch the show which starts at around 9:30 even though it's advertised for 9. Mins you, every other flamenco show i found was at least €35 euros so this was already a steal. For €5 don't expect a huge fancy hall, it's basically a room the size of an average NYC apartment where they're able to sit at least 40 people in very tight quarters. The show lasted about 90-120 minutes and it was so moving, i had no way to describe it since i was not used to anything like it. The beers were €3 euros and they also had some small tapas plates for cheap. I did not eat them but they sure looked good. Anyways, if you're looking to catch a nice flamenco show but don't want to go to the touristy traps that over charge, this is a great place. I would certainly come here again but I'd get there a little early to get a better seat. If you come late, you might get stuck in the back with a pretty bad view. The acoustics are great.

The bar is frequented by locals, it's a cozy place. You got to squeeze through everybody and get to the end where there is a sign for 5 euros entry and you get a black sharpie mark on your hand as proof of payment. When we got there it was already packed no seats left and some people were standing in the hallway and stairs and this is where we ended up too. From where we were we couldn't see much, just the upper body of the dancer and had to find a straight line between everyone's heads and cell phones. The show was good though and it lasts 30 min, half singing have dancing. After that, the band takes a break. They don't clear the room, so you can stay for that next show. Most people did stay but a few left and we found some seats in the middle. The view was even worst sitting though. Anyways watched the next show and enjoyed it with a drink no food was the kitchen was already closed. If you like to get a feel for flamenco and don't care about the dinner + show combo other places are offering it's worth giving it a chance and it's supposed to be more authentic. Go early and get a seat in the front! Also it's in Raval... it's supposed to be the sketchy neighborhood (drugs, prostitution and more pickpocketing) we didn't see much of that just a lot of graffiti and a couple of people that seemed to be under the influence. But just be aware, it supposedly gets ugly after 12.

Wanted to do something semi local and not a night club on a Monday, so did some digging and Nasty Mondays popped up. A bartender said she loved the venue on Sunday nights so that was green light enough for me. There were two lines upon arrival and I'm not entirely sure what the difference between the two was, but somehow my pal and I were the last to be shuffled in via the fast moving line. We still had to pay a cover but it was the price of a drink and included a drink, so win/win all around. It's a pretty spacious venue with an upstairs and downstairs and some haphazardly roped off VIP section for people with bottle service (which seems unnecessary given the music selection and vibe of the evening). The music was a mix between rock and '80s, which is not my fave but the kiddos seemed to enjoy it. It gets packed quickly and the "Nasty" part is when these two DJs get on stage and do some interesting theatrics before they start spinning. Entertaining, definitely. The music stayed relatively the same and while it was a little more upbeat because of the energy from the stage, it got late and I grew more tired instead of "let's rage." I wouldn't recommend it highly but I also wouldn't not recommend it. You know?

The party runs every week from around 2am to 6am (nightlife of Barcelona starts super late). Entrance fee was 16 euros with a free drink. The alcohol was of really bad quality. Literally got a stomach ache a few hours later, but the music was impressive! They mainly played famous American rock songs. Your guilty pleasure songs might very well be on the list. Very danceable and fun. The crowd was pretty amazing. You could definitely hit up some convos with strangers from all over the world. Too packed close to the main stage but there were some good spots up the terrace. There was another scene down the basement playing the "nasty bass". They're DJing some EDM and electro. Honestly, the beats were not bad at all, even though we didn't know any of the music.
