The owner of the restaurant gave amazing service and the food was incredible and so tasty!read more

Had a craving for Italian and heard good things about Site Pizza so headed down there for dinner…read more Bright atmosphere with some cool vespa's out the front in true Italian style. Greeted by the lovely owner and introduced to the specials of the night, so many to choose from; arancini, salt and pepper prawns, pumpkin soup, beef cheeks and much more. There is also an extensive menu offering salads, entrée's mains including veal, chicken, fish and chips etc and about 20 different pizza and pasta options. They are licensed and had a wide selection of Italian beers and wines. I wanted a white wine and was suggested the unwooded chardonnay, a very good choice! For the food, we were hungry and in the mood for a bit of everything so ordered a few of the specials, and had to get the garlic pizza of course. We started with the soft shell crab, lovely flavour with a light tempura batter, sitting on rocket, some cabbage with aioli. Although not usually a fan of soft shell crab, this was delicious and I very much enjoyed it! We then had the arancini which was a pumpkin and fetta and shallot flavour, crisp outer layer filled with tasty risotto. Generous 4 piece serving at a low price. The carpacchio was proabably one of my favourite dishes of the night, although simple, it was done well with fresh ingredients, thin beef, rocket, parmesan and a quality extra virgin olive oil drizzled. The beef had a great texture that melted in your mouth. For the main we chose the slipper bug (similar to a Balmain bug), pan fried with butter and garlic, not overcomplicating things - the way seafood should be done, side of salad and chips. Given we were at a restaurant called 'Site Pizza', we had to order a pizza. On the suggestion of the waiter, we went with the Capricciosa; a thin pizza base with a generous topping of Italian sausage, ham, mushrooms, mozzarella, oregano, parsley and to give it a bit of a kick, some chilli flakes. Medium size - great for us considering the fact we'd ordered some other things already. The hospitality provided was relaxed and friendly and informative, which is reflective of the owner, making a clear effort to engage with the customers. From the vibe in the room, seemed like a lot of regulars or returning customers there and probably due to the good service and high quality of the food. Had a great meal and experience there and I'll definitely go back for more and to try more, and of course; the Nutella calzone - just too full to fit it in tonight!

Vivaldi a welcomed and much needed addition to the dining scene in this area surrounded by…read moreresidential areas of Malabar and little bay aswell as industrial areas around Port Botany. It is great to see this quality Italian restaurant pop up in the area. We visited for a group dining experience. Such is the service, we were welcomed like one of the family, as was eveyone dining there. The restaurant space is slightly industrial and quite large with high ceilings, but the center piece being the magnificent wood fired pizza oven. The chefs at Vivaldi are of Italian heritage with many years experience. There are plenty of classics on the menu, with all food made to order guaranteeing freshness. Fresh handmade pasta and woodfired pizza. For added excitemen there are weekly specials from diffent regions of Italy. With great Italian boutique beer and beer on tap. To start a great garlic pizza straight outta the woodfired oven. Accompany this with the antipasto which is a must, containing an assortment of quality cured meat, including pickled anchovies(actually quite nice), house made pickled veg and cheese. The woodfired pizza's arrived at the table. A couple of masterpieces. The de avola the pick, with hot sardinian salami with black ligurian olives, spanish onion and chilli. The Toscana another classic topped with prosciutto, rocket and parmigiano reggiano. Then the spaghetti di mare, with fresh seafood and house made pasta in tomato sauce. The finale a revelation, canoli with a crisp pastry filled with creamy ricotta, mixed with candied orange. Originally made for a family birthday and luckily for us it is now on the menu. A local gem with great food, the staff displaying the welcoming nature and hospitality the Italians are known for.

We were warmly welcome the moment we walked into Vivaldi, greeted by the enthusiastic and friendly owner that provided us impeccable service and recommendations for food. The Italian kitchen and pizzeria aims to create their family culture and atmosphere. With a high ceiling and plenty of room decorated with a dark wooden theme for a comfortable homely dining experience, Raffaele (the owner's) entertains guests with his colourful stories and occasionally sitting down and having a drink and chat with diners. Food we ate: For starters we had bruschetta with a generous drizzle of olive oil. The toast was crunchy and parried well with the refreshing tomato. Next on the menu were the Frittelle Di nannata baby whitebait fritters that the owner has a personal connection and story to tell about from his childhood. These fritters were absolutely jammed with whitebait and fried to golden crispy perfection. Definitely use the dip provided with them! Our main dish was a huge thin crust eggplant pizza. Our friendly owner works closely with staff in the pizza area, putting his qualifications from pizza university into practice! The pizza toppings were quadriple layered and filled with eggplant, mozzarella and parmesan. The layering allowed flavours from each component of the dish to come through. Inbetween our main and dessert, the owner insisted us to have a Limoncello. Just like all the dishes served here, the drink was made from scratch with raw ingredients. This was complimented with our dessert of Ricotta and candied orange cannoli. This cannoli is to die for, it literally tastes like cheesecake! Overall, we thought that the attention to detail by the owner and staff members of the restaurant was faultless and it was an authentic insight into an italian dinner. Filled with stories, laughter and food that are all prepared on premises from scratch, we would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience. We look forward to going back!
