Haircut was only $15, which is less than half of the prices other barbers nearby list on their websites. Granted, this is an old-school barber who's just doing basic haircuts, nothing fancy like fades or coloring or whatever, but that's OK because a basic haircut is all I needed. Barber was friendly and conversational, haircut was done in about 20 minutes, if that. However, he did say he's semi-retired so he's only working about 2-3 days a week now and another barber comes in one day a week, so the hours are a bit spotty.

He took on my request to go low to mid fade, blended naturally into the temples, keep 1.5 to 2 inches on top with texture, layer the top for movement, style forward and slightly to the side, and blend the gray naturally, no harsh lines. The cut came out perfectly. He, also, framed and used a straight razor on my beard to flow into the new cut. I had also lost Sherry, who often styled my hair at the same salon. I tried cuts a number of places where I could just stop in w/o an appt. I can't explain how disappointed I was when those cuts took less than 10 minutes over and over again as they trimmed an inch of hair off the bottom and called it done. Long straight hair can still be styled to take advantage of many details and this was exactly what I found again when I found Sherry yesterday at her own salon! The dentist's receptionist will apply for the reimbursement on your behalf. We also apply ourselves because the forms didn't get through the system a few times. I have tried the other dentists listed by Excelles, and I was NOT happy with their service. One tried to pull out my bridge and said I needed a deep cleaning, which wasn't true. The other dentist called me the day before my appointment (that took months to get) and cancelled on me, saying the hygienist wouldn't be in that day!!! I was not very happy! I've never made my own perfume so I was so excited to get started. Victor greeted us and gave us a tour of the store. He started with telling us all about the history of perfume making and also gave us a pamphlet with all kinds of information about how to pair scents and different vocabulary to use when describing them. There are 15 different scents that we started off smelling to see what we liked and then we narrowed them down to a few that were our favorites and a few that would blend well together. The coolest part was getting to add different things to add to our base scents like vanilla, amber, musk, and tobacco (just to name a few). Once we decided on the combination that worked best for us we got to pour in our base scents and Victor explained the math behind bringing everything together. I really appreciated how detailed the entire process was. He also left a little space in the perfume bottles so we could test the scent he made on our skin to see if it needed to be edited any further by adding any scent that might have been over powered by another to find that perfect balance. He gave suggestions and was so helpful with everything. We could tell he is very passionate about creating different perfumes and it made the experience so personal. Once everything was mixed we were able to pick a name for our perfumes to make it our own. We got beautiful labels put on our perfume bottles and nice bags to keep them in. He told us to wait a week for the perfume to blend completely and to test it again while all of the notes are at their peak. This was so much fun and I would definitely go back for another session and bring more people.
