Great food, never leave Chicago without getting a stuffed Pizza. Don't be lactose intolerance! Lol

This is deep dish pizza! First time I ever had pizza for Giordano's I was totally caught off guard that one piece of this great pizza was all I could handle (I've worked up to two since then!). I absolutely love their "Meat & More" pizza. My wife and daughters always go for the Chicago Classic". Both make it to the record books for me! MEAL: Dinner ORDER TYPE: Dine-in MEAL PREFERENCE: Vegetarian EST.: 2015 FIRST LOCATION: Chicago's history south side in February 1974 MY ORDER EXPERIENCE: This place does not need any introduction but being a Pizza lover, I had to pen down a review. This has been Chicago people's favorite Pizza place for 40 years and counting. It is a must-see for any tourists to their deep-dish pizza who visit Chicago. Giordano's has been acclaimed as Chicago's Best Pizza by various people, news channels etc. Like others, my friend had been wanting to try this place for a while, so we made a trip to Giordano's on N Meacham Road. Most of the time the place is always full so just to be sure we called for a reservation and thankfully it was a walk-in because of a weekday. We went up to the counter and asked for a booth, as there were a lot of seats available, we were seated right away. The booth felt comfortable and sufficient. They had a QR code scan menu for us to check out the menu and the menu for drinks was on a menu stand holder. The waiter came over and asked for our order. Upon reviewing the delicious extensive wide variety of food items in the menu, we ordered Mozzarella Triangles from the Starters section. Then for the main course we ordered Super Veggie Deep Dish (s) pizza. The waiter said that it would take 45 min approx. for our deep dish to come out so as we were waiting for our food, we also ordered drinks. I ordered a Michigan Avenue Margarita as my drink. First, the waiter served us with the Michigan Avenue Margarita drink which was made with a combination of Tequila, Triple Sec, Agave nectar and lime juice with lemon on side and kosher salt around the glass edges. Both the drink and presentation were good. I liked my drink. Second, the Mozzarella Triangles had arrived. They were 6 crispy, golden colored Mozzarella triangles which looked appealing and were served hot. They were cheesy and went well with marinara sauce on the side. The more you eat, and you do not want to stop it. They were the BEST. Lastly, the popular dish of the night had arrived which was our Super Veggie deep dish pizza. The Pizza was thick stuffed with cheese on the side and looked delicious. There were a total of 8 slices which had mushrooms, green peppers, onions, garlic coated broccoli, spinach, and black lives. I do not remember when I had the last time, but I felt like I was eating for the first time. The Pizza was good and cheese was oozing out of it. After a couple of slices, I could not dig in anymore as I was already super full. Later, we had to ask for a To-Go box. The staff were patient and allowed us to finish even after closing time. The place seemed still busy during the weekday but still the waiter checked on us whenever she could. The price for food was on the higher side for us but as it was one time experience we had to compromise. The place looked LIT with lights, decor and eye-catching EAT PIZZA sign. They had separated out both the full bar and restaurant section. They also had a wide variety of seating types based on preference. The outside had a patio and looked like Christmas time with all the lights they had. The parking was sufficient in a busy area like that. Overall, we had an enjoyable experience. Also, my friend ordered Boneless Chicken Wings and Michigan Avenue Margarita, and he said those were good. I would bring back my friends or family whenever they visited CHICAGO. Also, someday I would like to check out their first location in Chicago for the experience. read more

CHEESE, OH GLORIOUS CHEESE! We had to stop for the famous Chicago deep dish pizza while on our business trip in Chicago area. On last night we found our way to Giordano's and this place delivered that experience. MEAT AND MORE MEAT DEEP DISH - Pepperoni, salami, sausage and bacon. This pizza was deep and that deep crust was filled with tons of cheese. As you lift a piece from the pie, strings of glorious cheese stretch a mile high. The pizza sauce was also delicious. The crust was ok. It was crispy, and did not have a yeasty backbone. I may be picky but found the crust a little dry for my personal taste. TIPS: - Deep dish pizzas take ~45 min to bake. Be prepared to wait. - Call your order in advance. We were 1 hour out. We called and ordered pizza and it was ready about 5 min after we arrived. read more

Manager was rude and pizza was mediocre for the price. I'm from Tennessee and wasn't impressed with pizza or service at all. I have had way better pizza from Alvino pizza in Tennessee for the price considering this is supposed to be Chicago Style pizza. read more

What happens to this place? We were a table of 12 for a go away party. Jo was our server, she did ok in the beginning but then disappeared and no where to be found, we received our deep dish cold, the cheese didn't even stretch. The crust was smashed and broken, we never got asked how the food was, we never received second round of drinks. We had to flag her down, she came back with a tall glass of water so we can refill our drinks and it was not even enough. We needed more plates so we had to grab some from other tables. I have never been disappointed. We drove 45 minutes to come to this location to meet family. I don't think I would be back to this location again and I won't recommend this place to family and friends. Gratuity was included and she didn't deserve that. read more

I ordered several pizzas online early in the day for a 6:40 delivery for a party which was attended by several small children. The cost was over $250 dollars. I called the store to ask if they had any coupons or discounts for a big order and the man on the phone told me he was filling in, it wasn't his store, so no. I was okay with that until it was 6:50 and my pizza hadn't arrived. I called the store to check on my order and was told I should have ordered for a scheduled delivery (I did) and that the pizza was ready but there was no driver. The order would go out when one arrived. I'm 20 minutes from this location. Finally, I started to receive updates on the delivery. It arrived at 7:25 - 45 minutes late, semi warm, and no where near worth the $ I paid for it. Plus I had a house full of hungry toddlers and spent time at my party stressing about the food. Today I checked the drivers notes and it said he was at the restaurant at 6:25 but didn't leave with my order until almost 7, which indicates that my order was not ready when he arrived. Someone lied to me about my order, and I won't be doing business at this location again (I am a frequent customer). read more

After not being able to get a deep dish pizza earlier in the day, I came to Giordano's near my hotel and was ready to wait the 40-45 minutes for the food. I came by myself, so I ordered a couple of drinks and read a book. The lighting in the restaurant was dim, but still bright enough for me to comfortably read. The pizza did not disappoint! It was tasty and fresh out of the oven. I got a small, but I could only eat half of it and had to take the rest back to my hotel. It was still really good the next day. read more

Great taste and atmosphere, pizza is very delicious and plenty of others on the menu , we loved it !

From out of town. I know this is one of the premiere deep dish pizza places. I have been here 3x. The staff is very nice. We typically get some salads and the deep dish original pizza. Note it's best to call ahead for deep dish. Call ahead, place your order and then go at the appointed time. It will cut your wait and you will eat faster. Pizza is consistently good. It is huge and filling. I dare anyone to eat more than 2 pieces. It is crazy big and filling. But it's good. Lots of flavor and lots of crust. The crust is very tender and good. Service has been good. Anything else we have ordered has also been good. I really have no problems or complaints. Nice consistently good locations for me. read more

We were starving after our nearly 7 hour drive from Minneapolis so we decided to get pizza from this place, which was right near our hotel. I had heard so much about deep dish so I was excited to try it! We were fortunately seated right away but something I didn't expect was the long wait time. It took nearly 40-45 mins to get our pizza but I think that's standard for them since they're deep dish and need longer to bake. I wish I had known because I definitely would have ordered online beforehand. Regardless, once our pizza finally came it was SO delicious and I'm so glad we waited for it. There was an insane amount of cheese but also an insane amount of veggies! I couldn't believe how much they stuffed into this deeo dish. It was well worth it but I wonder if there's a way to make their wait time shorter ? Otherwise I would come back again. read more

This was our first deep dish pizza experience. We started with an appetizer- chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and cheesy garlic bread. Then we ordered a medium Special deep dish pizza. Medium was 8 slices. The pizza sauce was on the top with Parmesan sprinkled all over. The sausage, peppers, onions and mushrooms were snuggled in with the cheese. The pizza was the perfect temperature to eat. And I actually enjoyed the part closest to the crust - which is unusual because I don't like the usual thick bread crust. This one was soft but crispy- like a pie crust. The medium was more than filling for our family of 4. We still walked out with a leftover slice. A small would've been enough. Our waitress was also very attentive and gave great recommendations. Definitely check it out if you are in the Chicago area! read more

Our host was a little scattered. Someone was waiting for a carry out order, and pretty upset no one had acknowledged them for over 10 minutes. Then the host helped her, then went to bus a table while we still waited. A waitress finally came over and if we would like a table at the bar, which we were really happy with. Our drinks arrived quick. She took out order. It was a Sunday (football Sunday) but they had no specials, which surprised and disappointed me. We started off with cheese curds. YUM!! A must have app! I had the chopped chicken salad. I was surprised that there was pasta IN the salad. Not offended, it was delicious. But if you are celiac or avoiding gluten, don't order it. My friend had the fettuccini. She loved it as well. I will add, these are large portion dinners, so you'll probably have left overs. Light eaters can probably share one item. Everything was fast and delicious. I give 4 stars (lack of hostess service, and football Sunday menu lost a star for me review) but I will be back. read more

We're loyal to Giordano's and eat it whenever we're in Chicago. I was in town for work and needed a deep dish pie. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Knowing it would take time to prepare I arrived early and grabbed a seat at the bar. I ordered a bacon bbq chicken deep dish which I hadn't tried before and an Anti-hero IPA. The pizza was fantastic with a great blend of flavors from bacon, caramelized onion, chicken and sweet bbq sauce. Our party arrived at 6PM, with one other seated party in the restaurant. Not busy. We placed our order of some thin crust pizza. One hour later, still no pizza. Spoke to the manager who said pizza takes an hour to cook. He was referring to deep dish, assuming that's what we ordered. He said he would check on our order right away. 20 more minutes, still no pizza. I had to flag down the manager again asking the status of our pizza, said it should be no more than another 10 minutes. After 1 hour and 40 minutes, we packed up our belongings and walked out. This is the worst restaurant service I've experienced not to mention a manger who couldn't have cared less about our dining experience. read more

#63/20022 Well the big super stuffed pie. Having been to the competition so many times because near my house my giordanos has not been up to snuff for a long time unfortunately in my opinion. I happen to be up here not very far away about 8th of a mile away staying at the hotel and I thought you know what I want pizza and I haven't been to a Giordano's for a few years since just before covid and let's just see. The first thing it is I checked the reviews on different forms of social media Yelp included and for the most part I thought yeah all right let's do it. One thing I always liked about Giordano's through the years it's one of the places where you can call ahead and have them start your pie. Because if you're getting anything more than an individual which is only 20 minutes it's about 45 minutes or so. So I called them and said I'll be down there in about 20 minutes why don't you start me up a small sausage and spinach stuffed. About 20 minutes later off I went on down there. There's a lot of construction going on so it was a little confusing at first but you can see it but getting into it was a little tricky but after I finangled and meandered my way around through the back from behind Weber grill on in I was good. It struck me because I hadn't been down to this area for quite a while how much the wood field area west of the mall has really grown. This is a nice well-lit place a sign is easy to see off of the road and not only that the building is very well lit too. It was a little nippy out there was a sign saying you couldn't eat outside the outdoor terrace was shut down no big deal. I walked in I was immediately greeted and there was not a whole lot of people at first when I came in a little smattering of folk I gave him my name told him I pre-ordered and they sat me down. I server named Leo came over and I put a drink order in I saw they had one of my favorites this time of year in the fall Samuel Adams Octoberfest on draft so I got the Stein with the 23 oz of the Sam's. Little surprise what was 10 bucks for the 23 Oz draft but it's kind of the going in many places anymore. One thing for the most part if you haven't been here they have the menus by the QR code or they have a little tiny pamphlet that you can read if you request. First thing I noticed when I sat down was the little individual serving tier where they plop the pizza down. The pizza came out. Look pretty impressive I could see the spinach and the sausage and the monster crust and then of course the classic Giordano's you know what comes next when they serve it to you....... The monster ooey gooey cheese pull showing you how nice and hot it is and it was piping hot and they plop the piece on my plate and it was just like I remembered it. I cut into it and the sausage looked really good wound the cheese around the fork with the spinach and took a bite and it was really good. All those a little bit on the greasy side towards the bottom it was very tasty but that's a lot of them they've kind of changed through the years from the old old recipe but it's still a quality pie. One thing I noticed though they were definitely understaffed and I was checked on not very often but I don't require a lot I'm a low maintenance guy so you don't have to come and ask me if everything is fine every 10 seconds. I should have got the individual that's only four slices instead I got the small which is six big old hunks and I had two slices left over. So in conclusion it was like I remembered for the most part I definitely if a better one or the one near my house would step up their game I might return more often I do have some regular places I go to when I come off the road because I am a over the road truck driver I'm on the road to 3 weeks at a time. But this is not for every single Giordano's but this location here in Schaumburg is pretty good it is close to the traditional that I do remember and for the most part keep up the good work folks. I know the prices for even a small are right up about 24 bucks for build your own still it is the classic stuffed versus deep dish you know it's stuffed because you do have the monster cheese pull that Giordano's is legendary for. read more

Let's dive in. The sauces for the appetizers were very good. The mozzarella triangles had a good pull and the chicken and cheese bread were good but nothing to write home about with the appetizers platter. Now for the main event The DEEP DISH PIZZA! It was very good tasted as if you took top tier ingredients for a pasta And put it in a pizza. We had the pleasure of eating the more meat pizza. The acidity from the sauce cut very nice into the meat. My Wife loved the somewhat flaky crust while I recognize it more as just a containment for the goods. Second time at this location. First time hardly any wait staff about 4 years ago before covid. took forever to get waited on. Food was just so so. The location on La Grange road ( it was Palos Park, or Orland) we went quite often and it was very good. Went the other day again to give it a try. It was around 4PM. not busy at all. I assume the manager greeted us. When we told him a party of two he asked if we had reservations. I replied no. (since no one was in the place, I thought this was a joke). He seats us at a booth. A guy comes over from the bar, we ask if we could move to another booth as there was a very loud party of about 8. He never even asked if we wanted anything) He said yes, we could move and walks away. I saw one waiter, and two booths with 2 people in each and the party of 8. That was it. We waited about 15 minuets no one came to our table, we got up and walked out. It was like a repeat of 4 years ago. They definitely need to improve on their staff. Although every time I drive by this location the parking lot is empty. If I could give them 0, I would. read more

I'm a HUGE Giordano's fan, but if you want a good dining experience, I advise you to skip this location. Yes, we all know many restaurants are struggling to staff during COVID. But they've taken understaffing to an art form. I've gone twice in 2022; both times we were told "the bartender called in sick," they also said (both times) they only had two servers. Really? How much of their profits rely on beer sales? But I digress. Yesterday we arrived on a Sunday afternoon (to be fair, with a relatively large party and no reservation) to find more than half the restaurant was empty... Yay! But said they had a 45-minute wait, and we could not wait in the bar because there was no one there to serve. No thanks. We took our business to Miller's Ale House up the road (which I noticed had 2 bartenders, a hostess and at least 4 waiters and waitresses, plus busboys). If Giordano's just wants to offer delivery, then close the restaurant. If they want customers to enjoy the visit, they need to start hiring. I won't be going back to this location. read more

Good experience great food great service. Will return when we are back in the area. Very pleased

Was super stoked when we got Giordano's for lunch at work, because I've never had their pizza before and really wanted to try it. The pizza we got was thin crust though, so not sure if it's comparable to a real Chicago deep dish dine-in experience. I had some of the chopped salad and the Greek salad--although I didn't know it at the time. When it's catered, you just get the salad in a massive container with all the dressings and toppings on the side, so we had no idea what was what, and I was mixing bacon bits, feta cheese, blue cheese, and some kind of vinaigrette dressing over both the green salad with banana peppers and the other salad with bits of pasta. Oh well--I guess it all goes into my tummy anyway. :P I ate 3 kinds of pizza: - The Special, which was nice with sausage in it - Super Veggie, which had a lot of spinach and black olives - Pepperoni Dessert was cannoli, very fried and crunchy thick skin, flaky, and stuffed with cream. Final verdict: the food was okay but didn't really blow me away or anything. I guess I haven't really been missing out by not eating here in the past. read more

Yes!! I definitely like this place. Also, I definitely like what they're doing here. This whole business of stuffed Chicago style pizza is actually very good. One of the best I've ever actually stuck in my mouth. We went with the special, which had sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions. Which is cool because the toppings are literally in the middle of the pizza,, then the sauce is on top. We also ordered a bruschetta to start. As a first timer to Giordanos, I was loving their pizza. I think it's one of the best Chicago style pizza I have ever had. Yes!! Miles better than Lou!! There I said it. Dining area is really nice as well. Modern casual style. Lots of wood. The service is really good as well. We were definitely well taken cared of. I would totally eat here again or maybe another one of their franchises. I heard we just opened one in Detroit. Stopped at Giordano's for their famous stuffed pizza. When we arrived, the greeter was not in the front. Totally understandable considering there is a shortage of employees everywhere. An older gentleman walked passed us a few times but never asked how many we were or attempted to seat us. We later found out he was the GM, Jim. I don't know what his duties are but if the hostess was busy and Jim was just standing/pacing the front of the restaurant, I guess I think he could have at least just asked how many we were just until the hostess got back to her stand. Honestly, it was only approximately 10 minutes and truly wasn't a big deal either. I'm only mentioning this because I'm writing this review. We started with Mozzarella Triangles, the pull of the cheese was perfection. We ordered a small Chicago Classic. The taste was on point. The crust was nice and flaky, so good. The menu price shows this exact pizza costs $22.24. Unfortunately when we got out bill, we were being charged $27.75. I pointed this out to Katelyn who took it over to Jim. Katelyn came back to advise that he took off the jalapeños (that cost $1 to add to our Chicago Classic according to the menu) so that it was no longer a "customize you're own pizza". She gave us the revised bill and now we were being charged $25.55 instead of $22.24. It's truly not about the few dollars but more the dishonesty that gets me. My friend is on a restricted diet and can't have much. She ordered a "salad" with only lettuce, green peppers, and grilled chicken. The waitress, Katelyn, was ringing up our order when Jim saw what she was doing and I guess he explained that they don't customize any of their dishes being that they are a corporate store. Katelyn came over to advise us of what Jim told her. He also suggested we order the chopped salad and minus everything but the green peppers and add grilled chicken (this salad costs $8.95 plus $4.85 for the chicken addition). So I asked if they had a house salad instead and Katelyn agreed that would make more sense (the cost is $5.20 plus the addition of chicken $4.85). Unfortunately they also don't have an Italian dressing or anything similar so my friend asked for oil and vinegar. Katelyn came back to advise that they couldn't give us oil and vinegar because they don't leave these items on the table since COVID. After asking a second time she came back with oil and vinegar bottles telling us they made an exception for us this time. Now the bottles and carrier that was brought out seems like it would be brought out at any Italian food/pizza place. But you be the judge as I've added the picture. Oh by the way, I've included a picture of the salt, pepper, parmigiana cheese, and red pepper flakes that are always left at the table. (So I really don't understand why they couldn't give us oil and vinegar) Anywho, you would think that at some point the GM would have come over to our table just as a courtesy and a little respect towards your patrons that are having an issue. Not once, did he come by. Instead just kept sending Katelyn over to tell us what he said. There's also a $2.70 surcharge added to the bill. Katelyn explained that the surcharge was added after the COVID shutdown because of the shortages of supplies. I think it's funny that prices were increased on the menu. That the price was even more on our bill. And they still charge a surcharge for shortages. But if we aren't getting the item cause there is a shortage, should we paying for it? Hmmm We paid our bill (picture shown) tipped our waitress, she was great by the way, and went on our way. The dining experience from beginning to end was sad to say the least. read more
