If you haven't been to Apartment before, it can be a little task to find. On the first level of a…read morebuilding that looks like it would be filled with, well, apartments, is this men's clothing store. It was recommended to me by a friend when I said I was in a pickle finding something for my partner for Christmas. Although I didn't find anything this time I will definitely be taking him to Apartment to check it out for himself. The long thin store stock designs mostly from Japan, as well as men's shoes, magazines, hair products and cologne. The clothing is functional and funky. Don't be fooled though, they put all the small sizes on the racks but there are more at the back of the store. There's usually only one or two of the same item hung up at the same time. Despite the high prices, these are the kinds of clothes you can't really find anywhere else in Brisbane. If you are a fashion forward young man, or you have one in your life, I definitely suggest giving Apartment a look. Don't be overwhelmed with the prices, because these kinds of clothes are investment pieces that will last a life time if looked after.

A lot of their products are imported directly from Japan; Neighborhood, W Taps, Comme des Garcons and Head Porter to name a few brands. I am a HUGE fan of shopping for the man friend. I'm also a huge fan of this chino, plain T-shirt…read moreand boat shoe combination which has taken over the young men of Brisbane. These two elements combined makes Angus Black a great place for me to pursue my weird interest in men's clothes. With brands such as Nudie, Bassike, Saint Augustine Academy and Vanishing Elephant, it's no wonder the sexy young men of Brisbane keep their eye on Angus Black. The store is a fantastic space. Simple and clean lined, exactly like the clothes stocked. A pre-warning though boys- you would want to save those pretty pennies before making a trip to Angus Black because the clothes are irresistible, yet a little on the expensive side. The pieces are of such high quality though, that shopping there would be more of an investment in your wardrobe than a frivolous spending spree.

It's a friendly little store, expect to be greeted kindly on your way in with a hello and a smile, the sales girl was a model-esque creature floating gracefully around the store who helped us pick out a present for a friend of mine. After kindly rejecting the three $150 t shirts she suggested we decided to go elsewhere but not without promising to come back again later as soon as we had the money. This place would get 5 stars but I'm still too depressed at the look of my bank account after going back and purchasing a pair of jeans.

Desperate recently for menswear hire in Brisbane with 2 days to spare we happened via Google on…read moreTony Barlow Menswear and formal. With the knowledgeable and extremely helpful Paul to assist my other half was not only informed about appropriately themed attire for a Great Gatsby gala dinner but was kitted out in record time as was his work colleague. Congratulations on excellent customer service and a wide range of classy hire suits. Given the apparent dearth of menswear hire in Brisbane CBD don't even bother looking elsewhere!

As I entered I wasn't greeted but looked at while they continued to chat like the earth was running out of air, eventually one came over and asked if I was ok, he then picked the first suit out and flung it to me to try on and went back to his projectile garbage chat with his colleague. After stepping out and saying that I didn't like it and him saying he will bring me another and waiting 5 minutes I stuck my head out and asked for some help. Both of them had gone over to another customer that had entered the store and left me for dry. That was the worst customer service I have had in my life and I am appalled that it came from a company with such a good reputation. Shame, as I was prepared to spend $800+

Ooh la la, I love a man in Cloakroom clothing. Perfectly fitting bum-hugging jeans, not too skinny,…read morenot too loose; jackets cinched in at the waste to perfectly show a man's proportions; and, those brown suede desert boots, imported from Italy. For the Aussie man who considers himself more of a Euro-man, this is your place. Starting off in a tiny tucked away store on Queen Street, this deluxe men's boutique recently expanded to a bigger store on Edward Street where it can display more of its samples. Whilst making its suits from scratch, doing two to three fittings with the client throughout the production process, jeans and shirts can be bought off the rack, and adjusted to obtain the perfect fit. My boyfriend has had several garments made for him at the Cloakroom: two jackets (around $800 each), two long-sleeved shirts and two pairs of jeans (around $270 each). One of the pairs of jeans has been worn 3-4 days a week for about three years and except for a hole in the crotch, which I've mended, they're still in good shape. The only thing about them is that they've lost a lot of colour, a comment my boyfriend will be making when he returns to Cloakroom for his next pair. Men if you're tired of ill-fitting off-the-rack clothing and have a bit of money to spend, go in and see the tailors at the Cloakroom. But, be warned, you won't want to return to the likes of Myer and David Jones!

I've taken receipt of two suits from this store. Both have been Super 150. The quality of the work,…read moreattention to detail and materials has been exceptional, as has the customer service. The guys working here are passionate about their work. I have found that they are more than happy to sit through and talk out specifics if you're unsure on certain factors about suiting. I will definitely be returning to have future suits made here. It is difficult to find a suit that fits me well as I have an athletic physic. Having the suits, made to my measurements, from scratch really makes a difference and is the reason I don't mind paying a premium to get my suits from here. Further, to go a premium off the rack or made to measure from either Canali or Zegna with the same quality materials will likely cost more. Make sure to get sized up and have your order organised well in advance. The guys here will try to have the suit ready for a fitting within 4-5 weeks. However, this won't always be possible. Once the suit is in store and ready for final fitting it can usually be ready for pick-up within 24 hours. Another tip: Ask them to recommend a dry-cleaner too.
