Arriving to the place in the thunderstorm on a Tuesday, I was glad my food was nicely packaged when I walked inside. I thought about heading to my hotel to eat but being so hungry, I decided right then and there in my car that I would chao down on the concoctions. The fried paneer is straight up fire with the tikka sauce and that green crema plus that tomato sauce. It's one of my must-orders at any Velvet Taco but this spot did it amazingly well. And the NAshville hot tofu is crispy with a touch of heat and complimented with great textures from the slaw and pickles. Strongly recommend both of these baddies, even if you are a carnivore. You fellow Aggies are lucky to have this and you better treat it good!

My family and I recently tried Ginsoy, but unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. We went in with high hopes, especially after hearing great things, but we left disappointed. Let me start by saying that we ordered our food to-go rather than dining in. We live close by, so we made sure to eat the food as soon as possible to keep it fresh. It's worth noting that Ginsoy doesn't currently accept online or phone orders due to their soft opening, so we had to place our order in person. We visited on a Tuesday evening around 6 PM and, fortunately, there wasn't a crowd. The interior of the restaurant is small but nicely designed, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. That said, my 2-star rating is based primarily on the food and pricing. Ginsoy, in my opinion, is extremely overpriced. We ordered six family-sized dishes, and our total came to around $200. I was honestly shocked at the cost, especially since we've dined at other restaurants in the area and spent significantly less for the same amount of food. The value just wasn't there. Here's a breakdown of what we ordered: * Hot & Sour Soup (6/10): This was way too spicy and lacked salt. It was decent, but after a few bites, the heat became overwhelming, and I couldn't continue. * Mint Lemonade (10/10): This was the standout! Absolutely delicious. * Dynamite Shrimp (5/10): This was a major letdown. My husband had loved this dish at Ginsoy in Karachi, but this version was completely different. There was barely any sauce--the shrimp were dry! For $26 (family-sized portion), we received pieces of what essentially felt like plain tempura shrimp. It was extremely disappointing and felt like a rip-off. * Chicken Chow Mein (7/10): This was okay but nothing memorable. * Crispy Beijing Beef (9/10): One of the few highlights! The beef was tender, well-seasoned, and delicious. * Kung Pao Chicken (4/10): Another miss. It lacked salt and was overly spicy. Not enjoyable. * Vegetable Fried Rice (6/10): While the taste was fine, the portion size was underwhelming. For $25, I expected a lot more, and it wasn't worth the price. Additionally, it's frustrating that white rice isn't included with the gravy dishes--you have to purchase it separately. Most restaurants include white rice, so this felt like another unnecessary expense. We visited Ginsoy on 11/23/24, and after a two-hour wait, we were finally seated. The restaurant was extremely crowded, and the staff looked visibly tired, which likely contributed to the less-than-mediocre service. No option to make a reservations makes it very hard to just wait there for multiple hours. As for the food, it was hit or miss. The Dynamite Chicken was the standout dish--flavorful and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the other items were average at best. It's clear that Ginsoy is struggling to keep up with the demand. Once they get more organized and streamline their operations, I think this place has the potential to improve significantly. For now, it's a work in progress. one last note, the RR areas were not clean at all and they definatly need more staff to attend to the cleaning matters. read more

Despite raising the issue multiple times, the staff insisted it was on its way, but by the time we finished our meal, it still hadn't come. Honestly this place is great. I just moved here and my husband brought me on date night. For starters we had their soup which was amazing! We continued to munch on the dynamite shrimp which is a solid 10/10 For the main dishes we ordered their dry chili beef and dry dragon chili chicken which was delicious! The spicey S noodles were delicious as well. So much so that I had to order some for home as well. I've been a regular at Ginsoy for a while, but my recent visits have been underwhelming. The consistency of the food has declined, and portion sizes have noticeably decreased. Prices, however, keep climbing -- for example, $18 for just 6 wontons filled with seasoned qeema feels excessive. What's even more concerning is that leftovers spoil by the next day, even when refrigerated immediately after getting home. That makes me question whether the quality of ingredients has dropped. Ginsoy used to be a favorite, but unless things improve, it's getting harder to justify coming back. read more
