Gino's are a decent size chain in Spain, owned by a larger chain in Spain called Group Vips who…read morealso run Starbucks, TGI Fridays, Wagamama and Vips in Spain. This branch is one of their newer and more modern locations, located in the CC Diagonal Mar - I called here after being aware of their gluten free offerings and I wanted to come into a branch, while hungry looking for somewhere safe to eat gluten free. I was highly impressed to be given a label, identifying me as a coeliac which also said all my dishes would be served on blue plates. The waiter seemed well informed, as even when I went to eat my friend's dish, he turned back to warn me it wasn't gluten free. I ordered a GF pizza with garlic bread, the pizza was one of two to choose from, I don't understand this as many other options would have been suitable to have on the menu such as a simple Margharita, and none of these was an option on the menu. The staff seemed quite friendly, they tried to help me onto the wi-fi however they failed, some spoke better english than others, and they all seemed to try as well as they can to help me. They also seemed friendly when I smashed a nearly full bottle of olive oil onto the floor, which was good as if I was a business owner I'd have been as angry as Sir Alex Ferguson would have been on the 13th May 2012 when Manchester City scored a goal in the 93:20 minute of injury time to win the first title for 44 years, when United thought it was all over and the trophy had been won. My food was okay - The garlic bread was a little hard and was seasoned with oregano, I would have preferred them to offer a garlic bread pizza with cheese, this would have been a much better idea. My pizza was quite nice, it tasted good quality and it had a good, freshness feel to it, although it did take longer than my friend's meal, I was pleased with the quality when I finally got it, to the point where I'd say this was one of my favourite meals, at least in the top two, I have had on my week in Barcelona. Overall, due to good service and good food which is a safe place to eat for coeliacs, in a city like Barcelona where finding gluten free can be so difficult, I do feel this place has done enough to earn four stars.

It wasn't greasy or salty whatsoever, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars; I'm not used to that! That doesn't mean it wasn't delicious; it certainly was. But beware that the pizza won't taste like any pizza you have in the US; it's freshly made with all-natural ingredients! 1 pizza feeds 2 people, 4 slices each, thin crust. * I had the pizza margarita with salami

Wow. Just wow…read more We've been in Barcelona for almost two years now. We've found a couple of places with good pizza, but they are both across town from where we live. Now we've found a GREAT, authentic pizza, and it's on our side of town! It turns out this place has earned its chops. The proprietors are "pizzaioli napolitanos." They understand the beauty and simplicity of a properly made pizza. They understand the dough, from its recipe to its execution. They understand that you don't need to offer hundreds of varieties of pizza, when a dozen or so, well-made, will satisfy. Their menu features Neapolitan pizzas, calzones, lasagna and salads. We opted for the Quattro Stagioni (four seasons) pizza, featuring a spicy salami, sweet ham, artichoke hearts and mushrooms with mozzarella, basil and a tomato sauce worthy of its Neapolitan heritage. The thin crust had the perfect amount of burn marks, courtesy of their wood-fired oven. Our Caprese Salad of tomato slices interspersed with mozzarella, fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar and olive oil was spot-on. My wife loved the light Italian wine they recommended to her to accompany the pizza. Yum! Our server, Andrea, a young man also from Naples, KNOWS his stuff and was a delight to talk to. We were pressed for time (our movie was starting soon, a ten-minute walk from the restaurant), so we skipped dessert. Next time we'll plan accordingly, and ensure we have ample time to enjoy both the food AND the ambiance. The staff is warm and engaging - we really do look forward to our next visit!
