This branch is one of their newer and more modern locations, located in the CC Diagonal Mar - I called here after being aware of their gluten free offerings and I wanted to come into a branch, while hungry looking for somewhere safe to eat gluten free.
I was highly impressed to be given a label, identifying me as a coeliac which also said all my dishes would be served on blue plates. The waiter seemed well informed, as even when I went to eat my friend's dish, he turned back to warn me it wasn't gluten free.
I ordered a GF pizza with garlic bread, the pizza was one of two to choose from, I don't understand this as many other options would have been suitable to have on the menu such as a simple Margharita, and none of these was an option on the menu.
The staff seemed quite friendly, they tried to help me onto the wi-fi however they failed, some spoke better english than others, and they all seemed to try as well as they can to help me. They also seemed friendly when I smashed a nearly full bottle of olive oil onto the floor, which was good as if I was a business owner I'd have been as angry as Sir Alex Ferguson would have been on the 13th May 2012 when Manchester City scored a goal in the 93:20 minute of injury time to win the first title for 44 years, when United thought it was all over and the trophy had been won.
My food was okay - The garlic bread was a little hard and was seasoned with oregano, I would have preferred them to offer a garlic bread pizza with cheese, this would have been a much better idea.
My pizza was quite nice, it tasted good quality and it had a good, freshness feel to it, although it did take longer than my friend's meal, I was pleased with the quality when I finally got it, to the point where I'd say this was one of my favourite meals, at least in the top two, I have had on my week in Barcelona.
Overall, due to good service and good food which is a safe place to eat for coeliacs, in a city like Barcelona where finding gluten free can be so difficult, I do feel this place has done enough to earn four stars.
