I loved seeing some Instagram favorite brands like Farm Rio and The Striped Sheep in the racks, but like a previous reviewer indicated, I was missing the usual volume of fun inventory, cute, whimsical things you would only be able to find at the shore. I sure couldn't argue with the price on clearance for 21$, not in a town that charges over 30$ for a stone harbor t shirt. Making Waves carries very pretty Stone Harbor T shirts for a mere 14$, in the past I've gotten some nice sweatshirts with "Stone Harbor" printed on a soft green fabric. When I was there this week, I have to agree with the other reviewer, the cashier wasn't terribly friendly. She had her back turned to me and was conducting a conversation with another employee. She reluctantly turned around to ring my purchase up. I almost felt as though they felt that they were doing me a favor by selling me 2 garments. Unfortunately on this last visit I would say that the customer service was lacking. May just be a "one off" as most of my experiences have been positive. The cashier and someone else (maybe the owner?) were bantering about another employee who apparently didn't know what they were doing - something about her first time "closing". Not very professional to me, complaining about another employee- ok- if she did a lousy job maybe talk about her behind her back off the sales floor? I would still go back because I like the selection. Whoever does the purchasing for this store has incredible taste! Excellent colors, beautiful ageless styles for all. I have shopped in the bryn Mawr store in the past and have pieces that have lasted decades. I purchased my first pair of Mother pants and jeans here and I have been hooked. But want to say- today was lovely. While I didn't make a purchase- Joyce helped me and was just beyond. She was helping me, another woman AND navigating a customer on the phone. And never did I feel like I was second rate. I tried on three pairs of jeans. None worked. But she cared and asked me why and understood. I know I will be back to see what other amazing finds they have this season. I got to reminisce about my first Autumn Cashmere piece I bought from Skirt so many years ago and was thrilled to see that had a summer selection- ladies it's worth the price. Will be a piece you will cherish for years. Look for Joyce. She treats everyone with kindness and attention and just made me feel so special. And I didn't even make a purchase this time. The thing that makes this shop different is they have a full size embroidery machine on site. The quality of their garments is very high and the embroidery can be personalized with a very quick turnaround. They carry some other high quality and different designers with sea and beach themes. When you purchase items from this small business, the owner and her family are the ones who will wait on you and make sure you are happy. The price point is about the same as other beachwear type shops, and the quality is quickly apparent when you see and feel the garments. If you are in Stone Harbor make sure to get off the main shopping street and up a block to find the Happy Hunt right on the corner!
