Tony did an amazing job with my back especially. I received this Groupon as a gift for my friend. I called to redeem it and the girl working who, I can only assume is the manager or the owner. She told me that this Groupon was from the owner in the past and not by them so it was a really confusing situation because she still redeemed it, but didn't want too at the same time. When I asked her what the Groupon entail because I didn't wanna pay anything more or anything less than what I was given and she told me it was just a 90 minute standard massage. The massage wasn't good and it wasn't great however I will say that when I woke up the next morning, my back was aching from being so sore so I'm not too sure what happened there In any case after the massage I was planning to tip the masseuse $10. She then put this bright blue paper in my face that basically said "thank you for your generosity. Here is a suggested tip for 90 minutes was a $35 tip." However, I don't think for my experience $35 could have been justified for at least the first 30-45 minutes she was massaging me with a sheet over my body so it was kind of rough and not the most relaxing thing in the world. When people would walk in the masseuse would leave the room and go attend to them so why would I justify $35 to you? She kept trying to argue with me. That 90 minutes was too much time and that I needed to tip her more but tipping culture has just got out of control because why do you think that you deserve $35 or why do you believe that I have $35 to give you? I'm just glad this was a gift because I definitely would not go back there again. They have like three or four different businesses running out of there, and when I walked in, my masseuse was actually sewing something such a weird atmosphere. read more

Very dishonest and confusing pricing experience. I found their couples massage deal on Groupon for $130, but I had seen reviews saying that the business does not like customers using Groupon. Because of that, I decided to call them directly and ask for their price before booking. The woman who answered the phone initially told me $108. After I hung up, she called me back and asked whether I would be paying cash or card. I told her either was fine, and then suddenly she told me the price was $180. I understand that she may have simply quoted the wrong price the first time, so I told her that Groupon was offering the same service for $130. She then said, "Come to the store and I'll give you a discount." I asked a very simple question: How much is the discount? She refused to tell me and said I would have to come to the store first to find out what price she would give me. That was a huge red flag for me. If you have a legitimate price or discount, why can't you tell a customer the price before they drive to your business? I decided not to go. The whole interaction felt extremely shady and dishonest. Prices went from $108 $180 an undisclosed "discount" only if I showed up in person, while Groupon clearly listed the deal for $130. I would strongly recommend confirming the exact price in writing before coming here. Updated: the owner just messaged me after I shared my experience, the screenshot is attached. lol think twice before you book with them. read more

Gingko Massage spa - This is the owner message me after I share my experience! You be the judge. - Massage Near Me - West Covina, California

I typically don't like sharing negative reviews but this business has some of the worst customer service I have EVER received, so I had to warn others. Please do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere. We purchased a Groupon for a couples massage here, but when trying to make the appointment, the person on the phone was being extremely rude and difficult and claimed that we cannot redeem the Groupon on a Saturday even though the Groupon itself had no day restrictions on when it can be used. When we told him this, he hung up on us. Thankfully Groupon gave us a refund because they agreed that it was really bad customer service and false advertisement on the business' part. read more

I am extremely disappointed by the customer service here. I purchased a Groupon for a couples massage for my parents anniversary. The Groupon said to either call or email to make a reservation. I tried emailing and following up via email a few times but never received a response for over a week. This in itself was a red flag for me. My husband and I later called to make a reservation for any available Saturday, but the person said that they don't have availability for any Saturday and are always busy. We were flexible and said that any Saturday would work for us, even if it's for months in advance or even a year in advance but he continuously just cut us off as we were speaking and said that he's always busy and will never be available on a Saturday. We tried explaining that that is the only day our parents are available and emphasized that we are flexible and are willing to make an appointment far in advance for when he's available but he just responded with "Stop talking, you talk too much. We will never be available, just do any other day". The conversation ended with him hanging up on us. I was so appalled by the lack of customer service from this business. His communication style was extremely rude alongside being unaccomodating. For a business that advertises as being open 7-days a week, this also seems like a false advertisement if he claims he will never ever be able to work on a Saturday, even if it is a year out. Overall, I don't recommend this business at all and would save yourself the headache. I hate giving 1-star reviews but I'd give this business negative stars if I could. read more

First time here and was encouraged by the reviews so thank you to those who take the time to yelp!! I went in for a full body massage and sauna. I was able to book with Wendy. Same day booking so that was such a plus and appreciated. She did amazing and checked with me what type of pressure was good for me as far as massaging. i gave her the specific area i was having problems with and she focused on it very well. Hot stones also came with the package i chose. Tony was helpful and very friendly. No wait time when i got there. Offered me water and made the first time visit cozy and satisfying. i recommend this spot !! and we'll definitely be coming back. read more

They didn't have enough people so the front desk girl was massaging me. Left 5-6 times, answered a phone call by my head. Had her phone out on the massage table. And when I opened my eyes to leave they had the curtain to the public hallway wide open where I was only covered with a sheet. I got up and left before the massage ended to which they only offered a free ten min next time I came. read more

Horrible booking experience. I called on Friday to book a couples massage with 2 female masseuses. They agreed to a 2pm appointment on the phone. A few minutes later they text me and say they need to make it 3:30. I reluctantly agree because I preferred sooner but needed the massage. I arrive 20minutes early and they tell me they only have 1 masseuse available and we would have to take turns. We decided to leave and thought we could try again Monday. Monday come and I text at 11:30 for a 2pm couples massage again. They came back with a 3pm appointment available and I agree. Once again we show up and am told only 1 female is available. We have had bad experiences with male therapists and so this was unacceptable. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!! read more

I'm glad this business is back in a new location. Located in the Tokyo Central market plaza, Gingko Health Care is back with their massage and infrared sauna services. I opted for the combo sauna massage package. Their infrared sauna is a 50 minute session that causes you to sweat out everything and the 60 min massage features a full body massage, foot soak, and hot stones. Wendy is great at providing the massage. Definitely come and check them out in you need a self care day. read more

They are open!!!!!!!! So happy to have Tony back and open. New location not too far from prior spot. Lots of parking! The massage was just as good and before! My go to spot once a month to relieve muscle tension read more

Not worth the Groupon! The man was rude when I made the appointment and before, during, and after the massage! My husband and I arrived early. He said the Groupon was expired when I showed him 4 emails that said it expired in March. We argued for 30 minutes and eventually ended up getting the massage since we drove for an hour to get there. During the massage, he kept his phone by my ear so I could hear it vibrate. He left the room and talked to the guy outside of the room while leaving the curtain door open multiple times (my husband and I are in our underwear!). At the end, he saw the $5 tip that I gave and chased us to my car, yelling that we didn't tip enough. We left and he eventually found the rest of his tip and sent me a "nice" text. (Also, the office and massage rooms were very poorly decorated. Looks like they tried to save money on decor. Ceilings look like they're from an old building.) MOST STRESSFUL "massage." Would not recommend to ANYONE! read more

My mom and my sister went to get some massages on Saturday 4th. First of all, the man who helped them was very rude and by the time of paying he asked for a tip, my mom was gonna give 5 dollars but he got really upset and demanded 10 dollars for each of them, in total 20, he literally said that they had to give 10 dollars each, this was an intimidation and made my sister feel like it was an obligation and they ended up paying it. If tip is optional why is this guy getting so upset over it, if he doesn't give a good customer service, who is he to be demanding so much money. I also saw a lot of reviews saying the same thing, apparently is the same guy who gets upset and demands more money. Just don't go, it's a bad experience in general. read more

Unbiased review from an first time vistor. I used the Groupon for the hour massage and paid extra for the body scrub. The deep tissue massage was 9.5/10. The therapist was precise and worked hard. The body scrub was interesting, I would recommend it. read more

I'm a mom of 2 so I was due for a massage. Came across Gingko on yelp and decided to try out A Perfect Day package (60 min. head-to-toe massage, herbal foot spa, hot stone massage, and 50 min. Infrared sauna). It was my first time getting a massage ever and now I definitely know why people are getting massages on a weekly basis. The head-to-toe massage was much-needed. I expected a proper massage and Tony delivered, and there were knots I didn't even know existed either until Tony sorted them out. First time trying out hot stone as well and it felt so relaxing! Overall I had a great experience and would come back! read more

Tony was amazing! Knew which points to hit, will certainly come back. I got the foot and body combo, super relaxed now.

Ok first off when I walked in I wasn't greeted.... I tried not to go off that, as I proceeded to speak to the gentleman sitting there he became more friendly. I got the foot and body deal 90 min It was amazing! Tony was my therapist and he worked on my problem areas really well. I will be definitely be coming back! read more

My girlfriend and I had the worst experience. I had purchased a GROUPON- 90 min. Couples massage, upon arrival, they were not able to accommodate us for a walk-in, only a 60 min service was available, so I decided to do that instead. After I made the purchase from Groupon, the male receptionist got so upset and started yelling at me. He was throwing a tantrum saying, "why?! Why?! I told you to pay me!!" I was really caught off guard, but I stayed calm held my self from shouting back. So to de-escalate , we simply walked away. This is a Perfect example of bad customer service. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! If u got the Groupon deal! read more

Check-in was an absolute breeze. I opted for the Groupon deal, but honestly, I'd recommend going in person and asking for that same price--they'll often honor it. They also accept Zelle, which is super convenient. The lobby is very clean, with some seating and a water machine stocked with tea bags--a nice touch. Tony greeted us and asked if we'd like to add anything, but without any pushy upselling, which I appreciated. My partner and I added the hot stones--highly recommend! It made an already great experience even better. From start to finish, the massage was phenomenal. Wendy checked in about the pressure throughout, which made me feel really cared for. Tony and Wendy took amazing care of us. Honestly, 90 minutes flew by--it was that good. We will definitely be back and recommend this place to anyone who's ready to truly unwind. I walked out of there feeling like a brand new person. read more

The most relaxing experience! Came across this place on Groupon to try and it was amazing. Had the 90 min massage with Tony and Wendy who did an excellent job. They were careful, communicative about the level of heat and pressure, and overall great! We will be back! read more

I had a 90 minute massage with Tony today (plus cupping), and it was absolutely phenomenal! I've had spine surgery, so my neck and back get tight if I overdo it, but he knew exactly how to work through the tension without ever pushing too hard. The pressure was perfect throughout the entire massage. I walked out feeling so much better like my head feels lighter now if that makes sense and I have a better range of motion when turning my head to the side! He even gave me a little Chinese snack afterward, which was super sweet. I've had massages at a tons of places over the years, but this one is by far the best. Highly recommend booking with Tony especially if you have neck/back pain :) read more

If I could give negative stars, I would. My visit here was uncomfortable from start to finish. As soon as I walked in, the man at the front desk didn't greet me, didn't smile, and barely made eye contact. He looked annoyed that I was even there, even though I had an appointment booked in advance. When I tried to confirm my name and time, he just waved his hand and muttered something I could barely understand. The massage itself was awkward and felt like the therapist was in a rush to finish. There was zero effort or professionalism. Once it ended, I walked back to the front, and the same man immediately asked for a tip before I even had a chance to put my shoes on. I handed him a few dollars, and he scoffed -- literally rolled his eyes and said, "That's it?" I was shocked. I told him that's what I had, and he shook his head in disappointment like I had insulted him. I left feeling completely disrespected and uncomfortable. No one should ever be pressured or shamed for tipping, especially after such poor service. This was by far one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had. Save your money and go somewhere that actually values their clients. read more

Super glad they reopened after closing the other location. This is one of my sister and I's favorite massage spots

I bought the voucher from groupon for 2 and the receptionist + massage therapist ask to view the voucher from my phone and he ask me, why so cheap? I told him as groupon not me. And while massaging he his got a stuffy nose and taking phone calls a couple of times, after finish i tip 23% and they said it's too little for 90minutes and ask for more . read more

This was not a great experience especially for a gift that I was giving to my significant other. One of the employees kept taking calls while we were getting our massage. Not only this but they were leaving the room multiple times eating into our time that we payed for. To top it off they asked for way more of a tip then we generously gave based on the amount for the massages. I guess 20% wasn't a good enough tip to begin with. read more

Just went for another reflexology massage with Wendy, the massage therapist, and she did another fantastic job! She asked if the pressure was alright and helped me with my knots on my shoulders. I noticed a Yelper state their massages were not as expected. Unlike western soft and gentle (Swedish) massages, some Chinese massages have "slaps" or pats at the end of the massage, if you're not expecting them they can be a little startling. Everybody is different but if you enjoy Chinese massages I recommend you ask for Wendy, she's wonderful! read more

Good price, mediocre service. Came to park in a vacant lot that shares other businesses. Walk inside and there's nobody at the front desk. Wait about 3 minutes and a lady comes out from the back looking confused. Told her I have an appointment and she tells me to pay for the massage right away. I haven't even told her which massage I wanted. Encourages me to pay right away WITH tip and I told her I'll pay after the massage. Takes me to the back and there are no private rooms and tells me to change out. Doesn't even pull a curtain near the bed. Feels like a hospital wing. Massage was very painful, even though I told her just medium pressure. Got a infrared sauna for my legs as part of a Yelp check-in. That was kind of weird. Had me sit on a leather chair with a heated wooden box in front of me. Needless to say, I guess you get what you pay for. I still tipped pretty good despite my experience. read more

Gingko Health Care is officially open at their new location. I've been getting my massages with them for more than a year now and their massage services has never disappoint. Their very accommodating to my needs specifically with the massage pressure and focusing more to any knots within my muscles. Tony, the business owner, is such a nice guy. Always welcoming me and my husband anytime and taking care of us whenever we visit. They also have sauna which works great after the massage. It's so relaxing and a great way to detox your body. The issue with this place specifically isn't the actual massage, it was actually not that bad. The problem was just that, I felt as if the masseur(s) weren't properly trained in their field. I felt more pain than comfort while there which is something that you never wanna experience getting a massage yknow. Overall there are better places to go to in the area, not bad here just less than eh. read more

One star is too generous for the experience I had at "Gingko Health Care" (more like "Stress Amplified"). From the moment I walked in, the hard sell for extra services and products was relentless, but the real kicker was the constant badgering about the tip. I paid good money for a massage that was mediocre at best, and then I'm made to feel guilty for not wanting to add an additional 25%? The massage itself was a joke. The therapist clearly didn't listen to a word I said about my problem areas, and spent most of the time lightly rubbing my back like I was a loaf of bread. I left feeling more tense than when I arrived, and with a headache from the incessant upselling. But the worst part? As I was paying, the receptionist had the audacity to ask, "So, how much are you planning to tip?" Seriously? I've never felt so disrespected and undervalued as a customer. Save your money and your sanity, and go somewhere else. This place is a scam. read more

Would give 0 stars if I could. Mandatory tipping is ridiculous, I tip based on quality of service. My experience starts as soon as a I walk. You must be kind to new massage goers, not everyone will know practices. Massage was subpar given quality. Owner can not take criticisms and responds to all bad reviews, continue to harass customers even after massage. All the 5 star reviews are clearly bots, be careful. read more

If I could leave a 0/5 star review for this place I would. My experience from the moment I walked in the door was HORRIBLE. The man who I am assuming is the receptionist not only did not speak any english, but was incredibly rude and made me feel like I did something wrong since I arrived to my appointment ON TIME claiming he wanted me to arrive 15 minutes after. Once I received my mediocre massage, he stared at me and blatantly asked for a tip. I provided him with the eight dollars I had in my pocket and he laughed at me, fanned the money out, and said "what is this?". I was completely shocked and caught off guard by his reaction and simply stated that was his tip. He the proceeded to tell me that the tip was not nearly enough for the services provided. I am left speechless with this experience and am extremely disappointed with the treat of their customers...do better. read more

My Son and his Fiancé treated my Wife and myself to a birthday massage. The business was nice, calming and clean, plenty of parking to the front of the establishment. The receptionist was very nice and friendly, extremely helpful in explaining how things work. The masseuses' were great, working out the knots and tightness throughout the body, from head to toe. Totally enjoyed my massage, but minus one star for miscommunication and awkwardness when leaving, we've haven't been to a massage business in such a long time, we assumed that a $5 tip was the going rate, but I guess we didn't factor in that it is now 2022, and everything has gone up, including the proper tip amount for a massage. When we handed them the $5, they kind of looked down at the tip and gave us that sad, heartbreaking look on their faces, the masseuse who work on my Wife, even said "we worked very hard on your massage". We all kind of looked at the receptionist and she said, no problem, tip whatever we feel that is appropriate, but then looking at the masseuse's, they looked as if somebody got shot, anyways, we tip them all, another $5, for a total of $10 per person. We kind of felt a little embarrassed and that awkwardness when we left. I would normally say we'll definitely come back, but we might wait a long time before we do, I wouldn't want them to see us and say "ahh, here comes those cheap customers again". 4 stars from me! read more
