Breakfast is included, and is an informal, made to order, affair. The kitchen is vegetarian, so don't expect bacon. But the scrambled eggs are better than I can make at home and the company is delightful. You can bring take away here and eat at the big dining table, or cook dinner, just be respectful of their no-meat kitchen. While mont royal is my favourite room I've had the chance to sneak a look at almost all of the other rooms and each has its own unique charm. It's an old house, so expect creaks, and walk lightly. It reminded us of home since we live in New Orleans, yet felt just more luxurious. The Marie-Anne suite downstairs is particularly wonderful. We were lucky to receive an upgrade for our first 2 nights and stayed there before moving into the small upstairs room that we had booked (the St. Laurent) for the remainder of our stay. The claw foot tubs in both rooms were great for relaxing after long days exploring the city on foot!! Breakfast was a delight: fresh fruit & croissants, yogurt & granola, delicious juices, even eggs cooked perfectly to order. That definitely exceeded our expectations for what would be available in the mornings.. The location is another of Casa Bianca's best aspects. It faces the park of course, and then it's surrounded by streets full of interesting shops & restaurants, which makes for days full of fun walks and great shopping. We ended up having to buy a duffel bag for everything we picked up along the way, and we didn't come here to shop much! Public transit is pretty easy to deal with too, although it's on the high end at $3 a person (at least that includes a transfer or two). Sophie, the manager, is a great hostess and her assistants are very friendly as well. We got some great recommendations for nearby restaurants, jazz bars, etc. Check in here and let them take care of you!

It is an old set of residences that have been converted into a B & B. I have a Jetta, so I could get in and out fairly easily, but I wouldn't be sure of anything much larger than that. Also, whether from the street side or the parking lot side, you're going to have a hard time getting around with a large suitcase. And if you yourself are larger than average (even if you are simply tall), the bathroom may also be a struggle, as it is really smushed into a small space. All that being said, it is a beautiful building and you can't beat the location. It is right by a subway station and in easy walking distance to Bell Centre. I felt perfectly safe walking back after the Hab's game. And leaving was pretty convenient too, as it is really close to a highway ramp.

He claims to be the manager.I've met the owner and it's hard to believe he'd hire someone like that to be manager. It takes away from the charm of the place. He is especially rude to women and he acts like he knows me well. But I don't even know him. The location is good being close to a nice part of downtown all within walking distance. Its a condo style place and you rent out the rooms and share the "communal place" which you dont really need anyway. There is a kitchen and a living room and a balcony but we rarely used it unless we were eating Patryck's fantastic 3 course breakfast! So, if you stay here, every morning he prepares a gourmet 3 course breakfast, hence the name bed&breakfast. You can request anything, and he will make it. The first morning we had a bowl of fruits in the shape of a happy face! It had oranges, pinapples, canteloupe, and kiwis! I'll update photos (I think they will be the first on yelp?). the second course was caramalized cinnimon apple crepes with sweet syrup, and the last course was chilled yogurt with bluberry topping. The second morning for first course we had fresh figs, grapes, canteloupe and grapefruit. the second course was spinach ommelette with balsamic tomatoes and wheat toast. The third course I forget because I didnt take a photo and I forgot. Sorry patryck, but I am sure it was delicious! The rooms are spacious with a window, ac/heater, huge bed, tv and closet. the complex has wifi and a very nice and clean bathroom. The beds are comfy and Patryck is such a sweetheart and so nice! He can guide you anywhere to music festivals, kinky adventures, bar hopping or clubbing. He's from France but his English is cute. A+! I'll be coming back again :)

When we arrived Patryck explained shoes must be removed when going into your room. I don't have a problem with that since I take my shoes off when I walk in the front door of my home. I was amazed how CLEAN my feet stayed while I was there. (I wish I could say the same for my own home lol). I stayed in the Inspiration room which is the smallest room. I originally planned to travel solo but ended up traveling with a friend. The room was still big enough for both of us. I was a bit concerned about not having a private bathroom, but never had a problem...well once...but I didn't have to wait long :) otherwise the bathroom was always available. This was my first experience sharing a bathroom...but it was all good. Everyone raves about the breakfast and I understand why. THREE COURSES! Who can eat that much food? The breakfast was amazing and I felt bad because I could never finish everything! Patryk asks you what time you would like to have breakfast and BAM it's done. He cook everything himself with some help from a young man. The location was phenomenal. You're walking distance from Beaudry station (approx. 10 minutes of walking) so it's super convenient. We were so close to The Village - I liked they have the street blocked off for pedestrians only in the summer time. It was always crowded with different types of people. The Latin Quarter is an easy walk as well. There's also a bike rack/rental right in front of the B&B if you're so inclined. I didn't try the bikes but would love to next time I visit. It's a very bike friendly city. I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else in Montreal!!! Thank you Patryck for a wonderful stay in Montreal!!!

Daniel is an inventive chef and came up with delicious hot breakfasts every morning. We stayed 4 nights and he didn't repeat a meal once! They also chat with their guests over breakfast and really make you feel at home. The rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. Our bathroom didn't have a wall attachment for the shower head, so...we sat for our showers! It was a little weird at first (I'm used to a stand-up shower) but honestly after a whole day of walking around the city, sitting for a shower was a welcome change! They are ideally located too, in a quiet and safe area, and they're close to the bus stop and train station. There's also a cute little street nearby with restaurants and shops. It's relatively easy to get around town with just public transportation alone. We were lucky enough to find free street parking, so we left our car there for our whole visit and relied just on buses/trains/walking and saw pretty much everything we wanted to see. Will definitely be staying here again, assuming they're not already all booked up next time we visit!

Just returned from a four day trip to Montreal where we stayed at Accueil Chez Francois B&B…read more While there are many reviews on Trip-advisor - there are few on here so it's time to sing the praises of this excellent B&B. The location is next to a nice park on a residential street but within easy walking distance to many restaurants. While the Metro is a 15 minute walk, there is a bus that leaves right out front every 10 minutes that goes to the Metro. It was an easy walk downhill to the Metro in the morning and a quick bus ride up the hill after a long day of walking around. We knew we would be arriving in Montreal earlier than the 4pm check-in time and we had prearranged to park in their parking area upon arrival planning to take a walk and check-in later. When we stopped in at that time to let Laurence (who works on the weekend) know that we were there, she told us to bring our things in then as the room was ready!! The room was great - spotless - quiet - with a comfortable bed. The room has it own bathroom - it was small but immaculate and had everything we needed. We were in room 5 at the back of the house - we even had a little outside balcony to enjoy. The room is close to the kitchen so you can hear breakfast being made (around 7:15) but we are up by then so it was not problem. The other rooms are further from the kitchen so I suspect quieter in the morning. Breakfast was made to order each morning by Francois, the owner. The coffee was good - the food was better. Eggs, waffles and french toast with some fruit as well as muffins each day. Francois was very helpful each morning providing tips and information as we made plans for the day. During the stay, there is always tea and coffee available as well as use of the refrigerator, etc. Since the kitchen is only for the B&B (and not the owner's personal kitchen), you don't feel like you are intruding or invading anyone's space. We were so tired the last night and didn't feel like going out so we went to Jean-Talon marche and grabbed a baguette, some local cheeses and a bottle of wine and sat on the little balcony. Overall, this is a great B&B - it is spotless, comfortable, friendly, and low-key - all the things I look for!

La Loggia was a wonderful B&B with fantastic hosts, quiet neighbors, and great location!…read more My travel partner and I stayed here for seven days and loved every one of them. We stayed in one of the rooms on the lower floor, and our room had an almost direct walkout to the small garden/terrace where breakfast was served every day. The bed was large and comfortable (and was able to be separated into two twins if you had a platonic traveling partner). The shower was shared with only one other room, but there were never any problems there! We had easy access to towels, the refrigerator, the microwave, and even some snacks that were left out for everyone to enjoy! Having the regfrigerator helped us save a lot of money and time on our tours, as we packed our own lunches with fresh ingredients and ate on the bus between activities. This way we wouldn't have to waste one of our two hours of free time on our tours in Ottawa or Quebec City to eat. Our room was nicely decorated and had original art on the walls. There were delicious chocolates in the room too, as well as water glasses and extra towels. Our hosts were very helpful and had maps and literature about the city/activities/museums set out for everyone to use. They even called our cab for us when we needed to leave for the airport! La Loggia was right in the heart of the village and was in easy walking distance to MANY great shops and restaurants. All in all, our stay here was top notch and we will be staying at the same place when back in Montreal!

My wife and I walked to a lot of places, and the metro wasn't to far away. It is in (or near) boys town (lots of adult stores around), so that part made it not so family friendly. Food It is a bed and breakfast, so lets start with the breakfast. After touring Ireland and staying in several bed and breakfasts, I was a little disappointed. Basically it is a continental breakfast with bread and boiled eggs. So yeah, I wasn't impressed. I would of liked more "montreal" breads and in-season fruit. Bed It is a superfirm bed (Garden Room) and we didn't sleep that well. We have a pillow top at home and we weren't used to this type of bed. Service You can't fault the service, it was great. I felt that they were a little "distant" from us - but they gave us privacy, and did invite us up to the apartment on Sunday before we left (to have breakfast).

This place is super cute! My sister and I stayed here on a three-day, two-night stay to Montreal,…read moreand we felt like we were actually living in the city as opposed to visiting. I considered a number of places to stay in Montreal, and I don't usually think about staying in a B&B, but I chose this place for three reasons: location, character, and price. Location: This B&B is about two blocks away from McGill University in a residential neighborhood that is convenient to Downtown, Vieux Montreal, Plateau, and Parc Mont Royal. Being in Montreal for three days, I wanted a convenient, centralized base from which we could explore all of the neighborhoods. Being in Vieux Montreal or Downtown would mean a crazy trek to get to Plateau or Mile End, and vice-versa. With this location, we could do Vieux Quebec in the morning, come home late afternoon to refresh and change, and then go out to Mile End in the evening. The residential neighborhood that this B&B is in also has a ton of character. Most of the buildings are beautiful, historic stone buildings. There were a lot of students around, who clearly rent apartments in the large buildings. Eateries were only a few blocks away, but the street we were on was quiet and residential. Character: When I stay at a hotel, it's important to me that it has character. For that reason, I was attracted to some of the auberges in Vieux Montreal - but unfortunately, those didn't work for me in terms of location or price. The University B&B is stunning from the outside - a beautiful, grey stone building. On the inside, it's eclectic and cute. Not the way I would ever decorate my home, but it totally worked for me as a place to stay for a few days. The building is divided into two halves - one half has the office and two or three rooms, and the other half has six rooms. We were in the half with six rooms, on the third floor. We were given a key to get us into that side of the building, as well as a room key. Our room - the Red Room - was like a cute small apartment decorated by an eclectic grandmother. It had a small kitchenette (fridge, stove, sink), small living area with a sofa and a breakfast bar that was open between the living area and the bedroom, which featured two twin beds, as well as a spacious closet. The bathroom was tiny, with just enough room for a small sink, toilet, and shower. We also had a back porch! The living area featured exposed brick walls (yes!). I live in a small apartment, so the size of this place was no shock to me. It makes a great B&B room for a couple people, or it would make a great apartment for a single person. (My sister and I could both imagine ourselves living right there!). The room had great amenities, including an A/C unit that worked well, a high-quality iron, a large flat-screen TV, and an iPod/iPhone dock alarm clock/music player. Price: The price of this place really sweetened the deal for me. Hotels in Montreal are expensive during the summer and become even more expensive once you add Canadian sales tax onto the hotel price. This place came out to be a good $75-$100 cheaper than most other hotels with good reviews and character. So, on those three factors alone, this place was perfect for us. Other notes: Staff: The staff who helped us out were friendly and helpful. They were both young women (college aged, probably). Breakfast: Breakfast is served in the office, which also serves as a kitchen and dining area. There was a nice selection of cereal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fruit, bagels/pastries/toast, and drinks. It wasn't as fancy as some B&B breakfasts I've experienced, but it was healthy and filling with a good selection. Wifi: The free wifi was okay. It had the tendency to go down randomly, but in those cases it was usually back within five minutes. The speed was decent when it was working. Probably not the place to try to do business work, but in terms of browsing and email, it was fine. Parking: The B&B has three garage parking spaces, which you book online head of time for $15/night. There is street parking, but I didn't want to have to worry about hunting for a place and paying attention to street parking rules. The garage parking was hassle-free. I got the instructions ahead of time, so once I found the place, I pulled right into the garage, where we could unload our bags. It was proper European-style parking, where there's barely enough room for the driver to get into the car when its wedged between the other ones, but that's largely because my car was stuck between a huge pickup truck and a van. Still, great to just be able to park my car there and forget about it until check-out time (although if I'd wanted to, I could have taken it out). One thing to note is that it's a decently steep flight of stairs to get up to the third floor (there's no elevator), so if you're elderly or won't be up for it, then be sure to get a room on a lower floor.
