Super aesthetic hotel in a prime location! You can literally walk everywhere in Old Montreal from here. The service was top-tier and the complimentary breakfast and coffee were so good. The room was beautiful and clean, just a tiny bit tight on space for luggage read more

Great hotel. Front desk personnel, location, room. Everything was perfect. Will be back for sure.

Poor service started the very first night. Flight was delayed. I emailed the hotel to advise. No one mentioned that we would be unable to valet our car past a certain time period. We also had difficulty locating the hotel in the dark. The front desk clerk couldn't help us locate it despite my describing the very distinctive store next door. Could not advise on where we could park the car. Second day, front desk clerk couldn't recommend anywhere to find wine and snacks. Check out day, requested our car out of valet with 45 minutes notice and they failed to retrieve it which resulted in an even longer wait. read more

a beautiful boutique space that feels a bit form over function. the staff is great, but the rooms are exceptionally tiny for the price with barely enough space for luggage. it works for a quick weekend trip, but it lacks the comfort needed for a longer stay read more

Le Petit Hotel was the most wonderful and slightly disappointing experience. Let's start with the good things! Location, location, location! Located only 2 blocks from Notre Dame basilica, you're in the heart of Old Montreal. Absolutely everything is walkable (if you're able). The "free" breakfast was incredible. The staff will make you almost any side coffee/tea beverage you'd like right there at the front desk. They serve the famous St. Viator bagels here (so need to wait in the long line at the bagel shop). Their croissants and chocolate croissants are fresh and perfect! What a treat to have this every morning of my trip! The staff: especially Mathieu and Zahra. My favorite staff members! Mathieu went about and beyond every time I saw him! He was so friendly and always had time for a chat about all things Montreal! And now for the truly disappointing things: they opened their sister hotel the week after Christmas so they were incredibly short staffed. I had no housekeeping in 3 days! I didn't have any shampoo left- I was adding water to the tiny bottle to use whatever was left on the sides. I asked the lady behind that desk every night about it! I asked/begged to switch rooms (there were a slew of other small things wrong- my safe did not function, a wall board fell off the wall without repair, the wood and leather chair were scuffed and ripped). I could over look those small things, but after no housekeeping at all for THREE DAYS during my holiday? They opened their sister hotel and now this is what happens- complete lack of service for their current patrons. This is not ok! Things like this happen, and I can deal with it IF there was some proactive information given. But nobody was saying anything except "I'll let housekeeping know"... but nobody was doing anything after that! Thankfully, they have rectified the situation since:) read more

Wow. A friend and I came to stay over the weekend. The hotel was clean, nicely lit, and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great, and free coffee drinks? Yes please! They even coordinated to send my forgotten pillow back to me. The location is perfect in Old Montreal. Will definitely come back to stay again! read more

Small warm and cozy hotel just down the street from Old Town piers. Many restaurants, cafes and pubs around. Easy to walk around to find stores and gift shops. Friendly and welcoming staffs were very helpful to accommodate your needs. Free espresso drinks for staying guests anytime. Breakfast was simple but good, a bread of cranberry and pumping seed was excellent. Good WiFi connectivity in the room with a small fridge and a desk. Armor had small safe, iron, ironing board, bath robes and slippers. Large TV, king bed and sitting chair to relax after exploring the city. Highly recommended! read more

Quite possibly the best stay at a hotel ever. Located in the heart of Old Montreal on the oldest street in Montreal, everything was within a short walk. We enjoyed the shopping, the tourist sites, and a great coffee shop right across the street. The attention in the hotel was superb. Fresh croissants and fruit in the afternoon, and a delicious French continental breakfast in the morning . This includes cappuccinos and lattes. We had one minor issue, however the hotel quickly corrected it for us. One thing to note, no parking at the hotel or nearby. Parking is about a 6minute walk away at the Port of Montreal and is $35 a night read more

Best hotel we've ever stayed at and we've stayed at hundreds while traveling. Their guest service is extraordinary, they go over and beyond to make you feel welcomed and appreciated. We came here to celebrate my birthday and they definitely didn't disappoint. A cute note and two cupcakes were waiting for us in our room. 10/10 recommend staying here! They make you feel amazing and are so quick to accommodate anything you need. Thank you so much Le Petit Hotel, you guys are the BEST!!! read more

I love this little hotel. The staff are very friendly and they'll make you a tea or latte at any hour (included in the price of the room). The room is a bit small, but comfortable. Caveat: watch out for corners on the furniture. The bed frame sticks out about four inches from the mattress and I banged my shin on it more than once. The shower is amazing. Overhead, wand, and horizontal jets are controlled separately but with one temperature control that can remain set when everything is off. The water heats very quickly. They have breakfast included, but I didn't have time to try it (it starts at 8). Bread and muffins are available at all hours, as well as yogurt. The hotel is located right in le Vieux-Port so you can walk to all the sights and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Lovely...they received their first Michelin Star the day we stayed Sept 25, 2024. Well deserved. Location in heart of splendid Old Montreal, two blocks from the Port where we boarded our cruise. Walk to everything. Our room was spacious, very newly decorated and appointed with very modern quality bathroom and furnishings. Staff unusually attentive and considerate. Continental Breakfast in rather cosy coffee lounge was very enjoyable. Totally charming and comfortable. read more

I really don't like roughing it. And the most spontaneous thing about our trip was coming to grips with whether we should start heading out of Montréal at 5pm on a Friday and driving in a blizzard, -0° temperatures in real pitch dark roads for 5 and 1/2 hours. Or.....staying over night. But I gotta give Mr. Man some major props and did real, real good with Le Petit Hotel. (And he doesn't even Yelp!). At the 11th hour, he Google Mapped and Le Petit popped up in Old Montréal. From his end, he was able to look at their pictures and details and booked in TripAdvisor- quick. The Man finalized payment right from his phone. Bam! Boom! And that was it! There was a small wait as the Front Desk needed to wait for the confirmation. And within about 10 minutes, Valet Service got our belongings and parked our car. Once inside, I held my breath because Le Petit is f*cking adorable, funked out, and maybe coming off as a Boutique hotel-beyond any place we've stayed in!!! Loved it. And it was just perfect! Last minute reservations weren't a problem and came through without a hitch. Front Desk? Totally warm with a genuine smile. I couldn't have asked for more. Lobby is stylish and seemed like an art gallery nestled in Old Montréal's architecture. Hospitality speaking, the rooms were well equipped, clean, cozy and comfortable. Bathroom? Genius!!! Like a piece of art in and of itself. Too many details to even list them all, but it was such a worthwhile visit. Highly recommend and had a great night stay. Oh...not to mention the free continental breakfast. (Nothing totally against the last 2 hotels we stayed in- which were more expensive and did not include one). We'll definitely stay here again and honestly, the best experience, is the one that's not planned and is spontaneous. read more

Le Petit Hotel est mon hôtel préféré. I've stayed here multiple times now, and to be honest, it's probably the only place I'd stay in Montreal. It sits on a tight, little European-esque street that is surrounded by tall, weathered looking buildings made of stone and brick. There's nothing flashy to get your attention regarding where Le Petit Hotel is, so just look for their orange decal in the window. Every time I've entered the hotel, I'm met with the same greeting, "Bonjour, ca va?" I smile and respond, "Bien, merci. Tu parles anglais?" And, like clockwork, they say, "Bien sur, madame! How can I help you today?" It's a charming interaction. Perks: The complimentary coffee drinks are lovely. My first time staying here they went out of their way to make me a latte avec soya et glace every morning (and it was - to this day - one of THE BEST iced soy lattes I have ever had in my life). C'est parfait! One of the last times I stayed here I was horribly sick and the staff provided me with endless cups of hot peppermint tea to help settle my stomach (regardless if it was 2pm or 2am, they always had tea ready for me). Also, the complimentary breakfast is just right. Fresh fruit and chocolate croissants? Oui. The Location: For me, it's everything I want. I can spend hours and hours exploring Vieux Montreal. Le Petit Hotel was a great "home base" of sorts to start from and explore from there. Plus - for those of us who enjoy a nightcap or cocktail with friend, there's quite a few bars on St Paul West Street (none of which will affect your stay or sleep at LPH) - so be sure to check those out before calling it quits for the day. The bed: Le Petit Hotel's beds are actually king-sized white clouds that come down from heaven to conform to your body as you lay in it. The sheets are soft and warm, it smells nice, it's clean, it's divine. You may never want to leave... Le Petit Hotel, to me, is perfect. You know a spot is good when you're building a holiday around the place you want to stay! read more

The signage for the hotel is a bit difficult to see as you are driving down the street. However, once inside you are greeted by a wonderful, helpful staff. The rooms were lovely. The bathrobes and slippers are a nice touch. The breakfast offered many selections- bagels, croissants, yogurt and more. The only negative for my stay was that the heat was not turned on in the hotel. The room was very cold and most uncomfortable. However, I do recommend this hotel. read more

I can't add anything to the other 5 stars--- this is a wonderful little hotel with a great staff. Every single person at the front desk was gracious and helpful. Special thanks to the overnight manager, for those very early AM cappuccinos! read more

From the moment we checked in to our last day, Le Petit Hotel was nothing short of fabulous. We booked this hotel during our honeymoon and were told upon our arrival that we had been upgraded to a better room because they love honeymooners! We were also welcomed with a beautiful, hand written card and two cupcakes congratulating us on our marriage. Really nice touch :). The hotel and its rooms are beautiful-- modern, chic, CLEAN... each room has a REAL blow dryer, ironing board & iron, shower cap, QUALITY soaps and lotions, slippers, and robes. The bed was huge and very comfy, and our bathroom was luxurious (the shower head also has wall attachments that washes you like a car wash.) The view from our upgraded suite was lovely. Every morning we woke up to a beautiful, snowy balcony looking over the European style buildings. We really enjoyed the complimentary breakfast where they had the best muffins I've ever had (had a different one every day!), fruits, cereals, breads, bagels, jams (with real fruit in them), croissants, chocolate pastries, and yogurts. You also get a complimentary specialty drink of your choice off of the menu every morning with breakfast. I highly recommend the mocha-- we got it every day for 8 days! Breakfast is from 6:30am-10:30am Mon-fri and 7-11 on sat/sun. Special thank you to Carlos for being incredibly welcoming and helpful during our stay. The entire staff at LPH is courteous, polite, friendly, and helpful. We absolutely recommend LPH for an excellent location in downtown (on the oldest street in Montreal) and an overall phenomenal stay. Thanks for making our honeymoon unforgettable! read more

Cyndy's Bottom Line Up Front: Great location, excellent service! We enjoyed the Le Petite hotel because of the convenient location, and everyone was so friendly, nice and very helpful. Excellent customer service! There is a general store across the street and several bars and restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are just right in size. Well cleaned room. The bed is very comfortable with and ample amount of pillows. The shower has several shower heads good water pressure. Quiet AC in the room and no street noise. Good lighting. Complimentary breakfast just enough to start your day. You receive two specialty coffee drinks too. There is regular coffee offered with take away cups. We had a wonderful stay! read more

This sweet lil' boutique hotel is all but tucked away on a tiny street in an older part of the city. It's the kind of property that upon first glance may have you wondering if you're cool enough to stay here, but it's silly to worry. "Of course you are," the voice in your head (or is it a subliminal message?) assures you as you cross the threshold. I tend to appreciate hotels like the Omni, Palomar and W more than I do trendy boutique hotels. They have great amenities, are typically high rises with windows offering spectacular views of the city and there's always a hotel gym. That said, I feel like I'm missing out by not staying in more unique places like this one, so instead of the Omni, I opted for Le Petit and I'm so glad I did! It's thoroughly charming and I had a great experience here. Choose the size of your room when booking. Prices are extremely fair. The rooms are lovely and feature the original French windows that actually open. There's something really satisfying about sitting on a modern Eames orange chair staring out at the old buildings surrounding you. I kept the curtains open much of the time and enjoyed having an entire wall of windows. I adore the stone walls and the bed is sinfully comfortable/impossible to get out of. They have room service courtesy of a local restaurant with limited hours. The mini bar edibles are limited to a tin of Pringles (my downfall) and chocolate bars. The shower that everyone goes on about is actually quite easy to use and I love the smell of the current bath products they offer. That said, there are some differences to get used to. Don't expect to arrive and have bellhops falling over themselves to help you get your luggage out of the cab (this always makes me nervous to be perfectly honest). You may even struggle to get your luggage in the door, too. Not a big deal but it's slightly awkward to walk up a couple steps in heels and unwieldy luggage. Let's just say Yours, Truly might have made an entrance... a clumsy one at that. Staff are all different degrees of friendliness, but definitely more reserved than is typical in a big hotel. When asked, they are absolutely helpful, no doubt about that. The guys at breakfast time are really nice about bringing you coffee after you order it at the bar (you can also order from your table). Sadly, they were out of soy milk both mornings I was there, but the espresso is good enough to drink on its own. I'm not much of a breakfast lover, but if you are, you'll be in love with their elegant little buffet of croissants, fresh fruit and cereals. I think the only thing that I didn't love besides the lack of a gym on the premises, is that you don't get a coffee maker in the room. I need that shit alone and I need it before leaving the room, yo. I felt bad about inflicting my unmade-up morningesque self on the public first thing, but it had to happen here. read more

Some hotels feel stuffy and formal. Some hotels feel old and worn. Some hotels have no character at all... But Le Petit Hotel feels JUST RIGHT. There's something about walking into a room that is both minimal and modern yet comfortable. Yup, I could get used to a room like this. The medium size is perfect for two. Up on the 4th, the top floor, ceilings are angled. The bed is soft and king sized. The closet space, large, organized and contained. From here, there's no view per se, but you're in Old Port after all, and as soon as you walk outside, you're immersed in another world! If you don't squeal about the shower - for novelty sake - I'll think there's something wrong with you. And if you don't shriek the first time you try to use the multiple knobs, temperatures, and various settings... well then I'll just think you're smarter than me. It's a swank bathroom with glass, glass, and more glass. My only suggestion - more hooks folks! And the complimentary breakfast? First off, having a lobby slash coffee shop suits me perfectly on a work trip. Second, the chocolate croissants? The espressos? The fresh fruit salad? This made staying here a treat. And getting their current promo 4 nights for the price of 3, made it all the sweeter! read more

Le Petit Hotel - Hotels Near Me - Montreal, Quebec

My family in Montreal seemed surprised that I wasn't staying a big corporate hotel like the Ritz, Sofitel, etc while in Montreal. However, I see no reason to stay at such large hotels (well besides points/rewards of course) when there are intimate lovely hotels like Le Petite Hotel. At Le Petite Hotel they greet you by name. They even knew who I was when I first checked in since I was one of the last people to arrive that day. At Le Petite Hotel they serve a delicious complimentary breakfast. The croissants were especially yummy. At Le Petite Hotel they provide you with a spacious, comfortable hotel room that makes you feel like you're at home rather than on the road. And at Le Petite Hotel they have the most amazing shower where you can control the temperature, water pressure, etc. They just need to provide instructions on how to use such a high tech shower because it took me about 10 minutes to figure out. This hotel is located within Old Montreal, which is a fabulous location. I was a bit bummed to discovered Le Petite Hotel doesn't have a gym, although they do allow use of the gym of their sister property just a block away. However, I never made it to the gym since I preferred to just talk a long walk around the neighborhood. I'd skip the big chains again next time and would reserve a room at Le Petite Hotel. read more

Clean, comfortable, and staffed with people who understand customer service. The location was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay.

This hotel and the staff were beyond fantastic. The rooms were stunning. We stayed in the large king rooms. The staff was incredibly helpful and accomodating. The location was perfect. I plan to come back with my husband because we had such an amazing time. The SHOWER was AMAZING!!! 4.5 stars Checked in here for our anniversary since it was ranked #1 on Trip Advisor. We stayed 2 nights in room 103. The room was very modern, spacious and beautifully clean :) I loved the hotel at first site. The hotel is located in old Montreal... Loved the location I read reviews that people said the first floor was noisy because it was close to the elevators... We didn't really have that problem. The complimentary breakfast was decent... Your typical carb station ( croissants, pastries, breads) I just kept thinking where's the protein? I do however feel the customer service could have been bit better read more

I probably shouldn't post this review because I don't want to be responsible for contributing towards the popularity of this hotel. It's super tiny, so I wouldn't want it to get so popular that I can't book a room next time I visit Montréal. The rooms look just like in the pictures. They're clean, ultra modern, and retain lots of the original brickwork of the old building. I could have stayed in my room all day long. Seriously. The hotel's location is a big plus because it's smack dab in the middle of Old Montréal, directly behind the Notre Dame Basilica. But it's location could also be seen as a negative because the valet parking is $28 a night and it's not located on any main taxi route. But to be honest, that didn't bother me, because I sucked up paying the valet fee and ventured out in my own vehicle. By the way, things really calm down a lot in Old Montréal at night. There's a Van Houtte coffee house directly across the street that's open during the day, but it's closed at night. Plus, there's few nearby restaurants that are open late, but not ultra late. For really late night activity you'll likely have to go to downtown Montréal. read more

Le Petit Hotel was the best hotel experience I've ever had the pleasure of having. Their staff was extremely kind, detail oriented, and assisted us with every need (extra pillows, plates for our take out dinner, valet, general generosity). This hotel reminds me of what I love about Montreal. It's French, it's modern yet also traditional, it's romantic and artistic, the people are friendly and at the end of the day, it's reasonably priced. Located right on St. Sulpice, in the heart of Old Montreal, you couldn't get a better location if you're looking for a real getaway. The cobblestone streets, galleries, restaurants and stores have gone through the process of becoming hipper, local and less touristy since I lived here in this city six years ago. Now it's full of five star restaurants, hip cocktail lounges and cafés all in walking distance. Le Petit Café - basically the lobby - is small and intimate but also perfectly suited to the hotel itself. Petite dejeuner (continental breakfast) is included with the room and served downstairs. The rooms themselves are relatively large, with nicely appointed windows and comfortable beds. I loved how the walls were rustic stone, while inside the room you'll enjoy free WiFi and even a digital temperature massage shower. Some drawbacks were that my in room internet dropped frequently and the closet needed a light, but beyond that I had no complaints. While I was here on business, I could definitely see myself returning for a romantic weekend vacation. Voila! read more

4.5 For the second part of my stay in Montreal, I knew that I wanted to stay at/in Le Petit Hotel. Not only had I read review after review from co-workers, the hotel was firmly ensconced in Old Montreal, looked old from the outside (even a bit hidden) and was updated on the inside. I knew I had to experience it. My expectations weren't let down in the least. I stayed in a medium king. I figured that I might as well treat myself a little. Check-in was a breeze. The helpful and chatty staff told me everything I needed to know about the hotel, the neighborhood and things to do while visiting. Despite its location, English was not an issue. Everyone I encountered was fully bilingual. After a welcome coffee, I went to my room... and was very pleased with my choice. Stone walls gave way to a modern, comfortable room with clean lines and wood floors. The bright orange mod chair was a nice pop of color for an otherwise white, black and stone room. Mixing form and function, the room had plenty of dark wood storage, a large window, a big desk, and a sinfully soft bed that begged you to spend time in it. Using all my willpower to get up from collapsing on to the plush mattress and pillows, I checked out the bathroom. Yep: space-age. Awesome. The shower came with all sorts of nozzles, sprays, buttons, and whodads. Truly, the folks behind LPH have managed to blend classic architecture with a modern approach. I almost didn't want to go out and explore the neighborhood, I was so happy with my room. But, out I went. During my stay, the front desk staff called cabs for me, mailed postcards (and secured stamps), made sure that I availed myself of the breakfast (pastries, fruit, cereal, fresh juice, coffee... food is self-serve; drinks come to you), and, overall, ensured that my needs were met and my happiness was paramount. I felt appreciated as a guest and attended to as a tourist. I would have no hesitation staying here again or encouraging a friend (even an internet friend) to do the same. read more

This hotel was like a dream - one of those "please-don't-let me-wake-up" kind of dreams. I love old Montreal, and this small boutique hotel fits in perfectly with the cobblestone streets, beautiful terraces and quaint shops. Le Petit Hotel ("the small hotel" en Anglais) is just that - a 24 room hotel that is lovingly maintained and stylishly outfitted. As you enter the hotel you'll notice that there's a coffee menu behind the check-in desk. No, you haven't walked into the wrong establishment, Le Petit is also a lovely café with espresso, cappuccino and delicious croissants. The staff here subscribe to a whole other level in customer service excellence. Interacting with the staff feels more like chatting with a neighbour or grabbing a coffee with an old friend. They are full of great local suggestions for shopping and dining as well as local entertainment. Upon unlocking my door I was met with the soulful sound of jazz piano on the iPod dock- an incredibly small, but thoughtful gesture that immediately set the tone in the room. Funky retro orange furniture and silver lamps are warmed by exposed stone walls and beautiful shutter windows that open up all the way (be careful if leaving these open too long - I had a roomful of mosquitoes upon waking up!) to let in the beautiful night air. There were a couple features in the room that made a big difference to my comfort level - the closet was huge with a ton of storage, the bed was incredibly comfortable with soft, decadent bedding, and not only were there sconces on either side of the bed, each had a reading light attached that was fully adjustable to make us bed readers love life just a little bit more. While these features were awesome by absolute favourite thing about my room was the shower. Hands-down, without a doubt the best shower I've ever had! The spacious shower boasts 5 jets and adjustable temperature control. Huge bonus - they stock Aveda toiletries that smell like mojitos - DELICIOUS. My two nights at Le Petit were a delight and when I left I had that slight twinge of regret, much like the feeling you get when waking after a fantastic dream. Keep doing what you're doing Le Petit - your little hotel is an old Montreal dream. read more

My Montreal routine... Wake up around nine or ten (hey, that's really early on the west coast). Head downstairs for croissants and a proper cappuccino. Smiles and bonsoirs all around from the staff. Ready, set, aller to the Metro. The WiFi was a but spotty up on the fourth floor but seemed to work well in the lobby. The staff really do rock! I spent quite a while chatting with the front staff over the weekend. And they are genuinely Funny, Useful, and Cool! The small hotel. Home sweet home in Montreal. read more

We stayed here for two nights to celebrate our anniversary, and I have rarely, if ever, had a more pleasant experience with a hotel or its staff than I have with Le Petit Hotel. Our arrival on Friday came in the middle of the day, and the young lady at the front desk advised us that we would be better off parking our car on the street and feeding a machine every couple of hours until 9pm (when it's no longer necessary) than to pay the fee to park in their valet lot. This prospect, of course, is made more attractive by the fact that in Montreal, you don't have to go back to your car and feed a meter - there are computerized machines all over the city that accept money to keep your car legally parked while it is many, many blocks away!! In any case, check-in was a breeze, and our room was spotless, funky, cool, and had everything we could have needed for a stay in the city. The location of this hotel, in the heart of Old Montreal, so European in aspect, is a wonderful boon for us tourists - so much to see and so many places to enjoy within walking distance, it was obvious that we would really need several more days to truly enjoy the city! The free breakfast the hotel offers is a wonderful value (it's FREE!) - get there early to enjoy fresh croissant, various muffins and pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, juice, milk, and good strong coffee! A great way to start a day of sightseeing. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay here more, and will be back to Montreal again, and will go out of our way to stay here again if we can. All the staff members we spoke with were helpful, friendly and courteous, and all happy to point out areas to visit, tips for getting around the city and recommendations of all kinds. Highly recommended! read more

Although I was staying at the Nelligan (sister hotel right up the block) many of my colleagues stayed at Le Petit and I had the opportunity to see a number of rooms, eat breakfast, have a drink, etc. This is one of the most unique hotels I've ever seen. While the building is 17/18th century stone, classic Vieux Montreal- the interior is modern elegant funk. Because of the idiosyncrasies of the building, the rooms are all VERY different, with weird angles, exposed stone, beams, wildly differing ceiling heights etc. For example, one room on the fourth floor opened to an interior staircase and then a split room with sitting lounge/area to the left and a bedroom to the right. Beautiful. A second room was in its own area, a sort of half floor, the only room with a private staircase right by the lobby coffee bar. Strange, but so cool. Wonderful complimentary continental breakfast and coffee, and among the coolest collection of light fixtures I've ever seen. Unique, boutique, clean, stylish and an extraordinary juxtaposition of old and new. I love this hotel! read more
