Within the Golden Square Mile is Le Mount Stephen, where historic meets modern. Historic located in Lord George Stephen's mansion where it still houses the lobby and British inspired restaurant Bar George but modern in amenities in the tower behind it housing 90 rooms and suites boasting a chromotherapy rainfall shower that I still miss, draperies, blinds, and lights operated by the touch of a button, and a Toto toilet that opens, warms, washes, and dries you as you please. Housekeeping and turndown service seem to know when to magically appear as the rooms were always cleaned while we were away and turndown service left slippers by the bed and chocolate and water on our nightstands while we were at dinner downstairs after we checked in. A girl can get use to this.

Luxurious hotel located in the heart of downtown Montreal. The lobby could have been more opulent but the rooms were slick and very modern; The bathroom had splendid lighting. The bar and restaurants are top notch but as they are opened to the public, it is very hard to get a table as hotel guests.( minus one star for that) and it can become problematic if the weather is bad and you want to stay in. The room prices are not off the chart specially if you book the deals from the leading hotel of the world website ( 4 nights for 3 paid). The staff was courteous and the whole experience enjoyable. I will stay there for sure next time .

When I go on travel, it's the time to pamper myself, I save from every paycheck to travel. This is a five-star hotel that absolutely hits every mark of quality. The staff could not be more helpful or friendly, the room, the beds, the linens, are all heaven. The bathroom has a rain shower with changing colors of light. I did not want to leave the shower until the grim reaper came and got me. The Hotel is located downtown so it works well for either business travel or for tourism. There's Metro nearby. There is parking for an additional charge that is either self park or valet. I recommend booking through the hotel website, I got an extremely good rate and discount for staying four nights. If you join the leaders club (free), then for each reservation there is free breakfast for two at Bar George. The cleaning is top-notch and non-obtrusive. Only once during my stay did I see cleaning staff in the hallway, they operate like elves. I don't have enough praise for the staff in the hotel none of them seem to have a bad moment at any time, they were extremely friendly and extremely helpful. I did not use the concierge service but overhearing him work with other clients, I was very impressed. if I travel back to Montreal there is no question this is where I'll stay.

A historic boutique hotel with luxurious & modern amenities. Work brought me here. I remember being dropped off in front of the building and wondering to myself if I was in the wrong place? Talk about wow factor! They've gone to great lengths to preserve the buildings history which dates back to 1880. When you step inside it feels like you're in a castle. Once you get to the lobby it becomes modern and artsy. Rooms are very modern as well. I stayed in a one of their luxury king rooms offering beautiful city views, a very comfortable bed with soft cream linens. A work desk right next to a series of windows. The bathroom has lighted mirrors, chromotherapy rainforest shower and heated floors. The shower felt like a nightclub in Vegas! You can listen to music & play with lights... The toilet features a remote control that can basically do anything you'd like to your sacred areas. Let's not forget that they also offer a custom pillow menu (upon request) so you can find the perfect pillow that's just right for you. I took advantage of ordering room service for breakfast and really enjoyed my latte & delicious fresh lox 'n bagel in bed of course. Best way to begin any day is by having breakfast in bed in my opinion! One last detail, you definitely want to enjoy a meal or cocktail at their bar called Bar George.

I recommend staying there. THe staff is great and attentive Claudio really went the extra mile to talk to me and get to know me.

My stay at Le Mount Stephen lived up to the expectation. The room was a vibe in itself; so much of a vibe pictures doesn't do it enough Justice (Check TikTok in my bio for video of the room). The location is great as it's close to everything you can think of. The Room Service staff was very accommodating and nice I can't stress that enough. Same for all of the front desk staff and Doormen (Hillary, Nancy, Zachary, Kobe & Claudio). Most definitely will be staying here again & recommending to friends and family. My only complaint is that the Thermostat heat should be able to be raised a bit more as the weather has become a bit different lately (but I understand due to surging energy costs these days). They also do deposit holds on your account of about $1,000 USD; So keep that in mind. Not a big fan of Bar George as it seemed very simple and plain; with little to no Vegan Options besides Avocado Toast. Other than that The Hotel Interior is a sight to see. Uber Around; doesn't seem like much parking in the surrounding area as it's a busy neighborhood but full of things to do and see.

We are montrealers and we can tell you the location is A1. The hotel, beautiful. Nice rooms, shower, japanese toilet, etc. The staff, mostly friendly. The bar (Bar George), wonderful with it's history and it's atmosphere. The food is inspired by the english/irish. A group of investors from Toronto injected many million dollars to renovate and it was worth it! It reopened in may 2017. Good job! I totally recommend it.

This hotel is situated centrally and priced not too steep for 5 star hotel. I loved their lobby lounge and decorations, the only drawback was the size of the room which was really tiny. I appreciated though all the modern features of the room and I especially liked their rain shower with LED lighting system, which you could choose from white, red, blue, and purple maybe. I think the room I stayed, which was a deluxe queen, would be ideal for a single traveler and I recommend to get a little larger room if you're traveling with someone.

Clean and modern hotel with great service and located conveniently to shops and restaurants.

Other side of the old mansion facade. Nicely lite at night

Located only 2 blocks from Notre Dame basilica, you're in the heart of Old Montreal. Absolutely everything is walkable (if you're able). The "free" breakfast was incredible. The staff will make you almost any side coffee/tea beverage you'd like right there at the front desk. They serve the famous St. Viator bagels here (so need to wait in the long line at the bagel shop). Their croissants and chocolate croissants are fresh and perfect! What a treat to have this every morning of my trip! The staff: especially Mathieu and Zahra. My favorite staff members! Mathieu went about and beyond every time I saw him! He was so friendly and always had time for a chat about all things Montreal! And now for the truly disappointing things: they opened their sister hotel the week after Christmas so they were incredibly short staffed. I had no housekeeping in 3 days! I didn't have any shampoo left- I was adding water to the tiny bottle to use whatever was left on the sides. I asked the lady behind that desk every night about it! I asked/begged to switch rooms (there were a slew of other small things wrong- my safe did not function, a wall board fell off the wall without repair, the wood and leather chair were scuffed and ripped). I could over look those small things, but after no housekeeping at all for THREE DAYS during my holiday? They opened their sister hotel and now this is what happens- complete lack of service for their current patrons. This is not ok! Things like this happen, and I can deal with it IF there was some proactive information given. But nobody was saying anything except "I'll let housekeeping know"... but nobody was doing anything after that! Thankfully, they have rectified the situation since:)

Checking in was very easy and they even said they were expecting me, which was very refreshing after the last hotel I stayed in for business, which was the Hilton in Richmond, VA at Short Pump in which the staff was very condescending and poor at checking people in, especially business travelers. This place definitely took great care at check in to make sure I felt welcomed, including asking me if I had any questions. She went over everything I needed to know about the property. When I got to the room I was impressed with the size of it - it was pretty large, with lots of open space, a decent desk, plenty of seating, and a very nice, clean, and comfortable bed which was fitted with ironed sheets! The TV in the room was disproportionately small and their streaming channel options were limited, but I made the best of it, as it's mostly background noise while I'm working anyway. The location is decent, only a couple of blocks from the Rue Sainte-Catherine shopping and dining area, which also has the Complexe Desjardins (a mall). There's a Metro station a block away as well. They have a decent size gym with all the normal stuff and a pretty nice, two-level lounge for those with access via their loyalty level. Overall, I'm enjoying the stay here and would return!

One standout was the gym, which is much better than what you typically find in hotels, with multiple treadmills, a stair stepper, ellipticals, and a solid selection of weights. They also have a two lane indoor pool and an indoor hot tub, which were nice added amenities. I especially appreciated that my room had a patio, it was great being able to get some fresh air. The only downside was the noise. There were very loud neighbours in the hallway with screaming and music playing until around 11:30 pm. I contacted the front desk and was told security would be sent up, but no one came and the noise continued past midnight. Overall, a solid hotel with great amenities, but the lack of follow through on the noise issue was disappointing.

The entire building smelled of smoke. 2. Front desk staff barely communicative. 3. Room was FAR smaller than advertised and was also dirty. The room to which I was assigned looked like NOTHING IN ANY OF THE PHOTOS. 4. Public shared restroom: i did not even go in since everything else smelled like piss, cigarettes and beer, I figured the bathrooms were also disgusting. 5. Parking is off site; no bell hop or other staff to carry bags up two flights of stairs (no lift). The only plus is that I got a few dollars of one key rewards for walking in and out of a horriffic, unsanitary, smoky boarding home- far far below any consideration of the name "hotel." It's nice, but just a bit too much across the board. It's definitely a sexy hotel, great for bringing a spouse or significant other. But you'll want to be at a stage in your relationship where you're comfortable using the bathroom with the other person in the room - because there's almost no privacy.
