There are levels of training - even if your dog is already good with basic commands, she can get him/her and you to the next level. I have a rescue who had a number of behavior problems (jumping, nipping, uncontrolled enthusiasm) - much of this is related to his age, but Virginia gave us tools that reduced and even eliminated his poor behavior. Training approach - Rewards-based (although there are alternative methods she will work with you on if you'd like) Technique - Praise / non-responsive to poor behavior (no military-style approach!) Responsiveness & Availability - Any question I had I was able to ask her either during the training session or in follow up (email or phone). Virginia's goal was to ensure we were getting the behavior we wanted to see. Whenever I had to reschedule a training session, she was very flexible and understanding. Overall character - Virginia is someone I'd love to call a friend - she is warm and friendly and is kind and consistent with everyone! I'd though my children (both 9) would be 'in the way', however, Virginia included them in the training sessions and it was great! My daughter became very skilled in training our Ivan. Since then, I refused to trust anyone local and spent years driving my dogs all the way into NYC just to get them groomed. While our city groomer was great, making that trip from Danbury was exhausting and expensive. ​I was nervous to switch, but I decided to give Corey & Grace at Wags Doggie Daycamp a try, and they completely exceeded my expectations. They were exceptionally gentle with my newest rescue, who has serious PTSD, and took extra care with my special needs pup by using a supportive harness so she didn't have to strain or stand on her hind legs unsupported. ​Seeing how patient, safe, and stress-free all three of my girls were was such a relief. While we appreciate that they took him to the vet, this incident has left us with concerns about the level of supervision and safety protocols in place. I encourage anyone considering boarding here to ask detailed questions about how dogs are monitored and how they prevent altercations. I hope the facility takes steps to prevent another family from going through this horrible experience. Our dog is now medicated to allow his ear which has a chunk missing!! to heel and must be monitored 24/7 as the ear bleeds at any movement. Please do your research and don't always trust the place that has a ton of dogs in one room with only 1 person watching them Our poor pup is paying the price right now it's very sad for us to see him Going through this. Needless to say he will never step foot in that place again!

I am speaking about clearly excellent and comprehensive expertise. I am speaking about gentleness, compassion and time to explain options for wellness or treatment. I am speaking about same day appointments when my dogs were in distress. And I am speaking about kindness expressed by every staff member's warmth and caring from arrival to departure. In August of 2017 one of my two fifteen year old Bichons, Nickie, experienced a near death experience from kidney failure. My much loved prior vet, Dr. Grader, had moved out of town. So we saw Dr. Pia for the very first time. We immediately began to receive her utmost attention to detail with constant significant information about his condition and treatment recommendations. Nickie was under daytime hospital care for four days. I was there every day and then in and out for weeks afterward. Nickie is still being carefully monitored and won't live much longer. But his tail is wagging, he is again giving kisses and enjoying his life under her care. Dr. Pia always answered endless questions from me as I cried and sought guidance and reassurance. Her patience and generosity were always present. I felt totally confident at all times. The managers, Joanna and Linda,whom I had never met, listened and spoke to me frequently expressing their kindness and support. And Sarah, one of the receptionists, is indescribable in her caring for pets and owners alike. She hugged me more than once and compassionately listened as I cried all the time. How many individuals in this world would take a beloved pet to visit an owner in a rehabilitation center with no other family member to do so? Sarah did. How about the technician, Brett, who patiently sat on the floor to guide me in learning how to administer saline to Nickie at home.
