I decided to try gimme some sugar for a Brazilian sugaring. The place I had been going to previously was not doing a great job, leaving a lot of hair behind. And they also jacked up their prices. So, after reading some reviews, I decided to try it out. It was cheaper, and I also like the fact that they give a loyalty discount if you keep coming back. I had Dinna when I went. She was extremely friendly, she chit chatted with me lots the entire time. Kind of helps take your mind off the task at hand, which I am always grateful for. She was very knowledgeable and able to answer any question I may have had. Even though this wasn't my first experience with sugaring, I learned a lot more here than the previous place. I am new to sugaring, and I am hooked! So easy, yah there is a little bit of pain, but you are removing hair, and compared to laser and waxing, the sugaring is virtually pain free! I brought my 13 year old here to get her underarms and eyebrows done, and she even said it didn't hurt, and she is so impressed with it too (and impressing a 13 year old takes a lot!)! The ladies here are so nice and friendly, and totally make you feel at ease when you get there and then fabulous as you leave! GimmeSomeSugar is an excellent choice to have your waxing done. Maika is so efficient, I am in and out of there in about 15 minutes for a full brazilian. There is always little to no swelling and ingrown hairs, and touch-ups are usually every 6 weeks or more. The brazillian is very reasonably priced and Maika always does a great, consistent job. She is a really personable and professional person, which makes the time fly. The room is very clean and there is never a trace of other clients when I visit. Maika is also flexbile with scheduling, always trying to find the best time to suit a clients needs. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone in Calgary. read more

I've always got suguaring done in Winnipeg. When I moved out here I was trying to find a place that does sugaring. I asked a few girlfriends and they haven't even heard about sugaring. Maika is excellent! She is patient and fast, she knows what shes doing and is very confident in getting it done right, whether it be eyebrow waxing, underarm waxing or the bare all brazillian (which i reccomend) YOU MUST TRY HER OUT. I had a session with Jenna today to try sugar waxing as an alternative to regular waxing as it leaves bumps on my skin that don't go away for a few days. I was impressed with the process, it wasn't as painful as traditional waxing and so far I have no bumps. I was also given an appointment in a timely fashion, 45 minutes after my initial call, even though the receptionist had mentioned they were quite busy today. Gimme Some Sugar is right!!! Jenna is the bomb! I have been waxing for 25yrs...Never again! Not only is there great energy in this little gem of a shop...the girls are great the music...relaxing. Had an amazing experience with sugar waxing done by Jenna last week. She was phenomenal~made me feel comfortable and relaxed and she even educated me about the actual product. (I had lots of questions) lol I saw a huge improvement on my legs after going there as I had an allergic reaction to regular wax previously, but my legs are healing nicely now thanks to the sugar waxing. My first visit to the salon was fabulous. Kim tinted my eyebrows and they look awesome. They are the perfect color. My daughter also attended for the first time and had her eyelashes tinted. WOW!!! They are gorgeous. What we really appreciated was the fact that Kim stayed in the room the entire time to gauge how the process was moving along and if there was any discomfort she was right there to dab my daughter's eyelids with water. I had my first body sugaring experience here today. It was a clean and bright environment, and Maika was really easy to talk to and professional. She did a great job of my bikini + wax, and it wasn't that painful. It was a bit painful yes, but you felt really invigorated afterward, and I must say it looks really good!! I have generally had pretty bad experiences with waxing. This was my first experience with sugaring and it was amazing! I am very pleased with the results and I also found it less painful than waxing. Angele was great and she knew what she was doing!
