Working with The Sweetness Team was an absolute delight and was completely effortless…read more I contacted the Sweetness Team a month prior to a big 30th birthday celebration we were throwing my wife in Palm Springs. Having spent time reviewing other cakes Sweetness has made, I knew that I was in great hands with a "Harry Styles" themed birthday cake (one of her favorite artists and a bit of a recent obsession!). Marcela and the Sweetness team reached back out immediately and offered multiple options for the themed cake. The option we went with was perfect. Come the birthday weekend, The Sweetness Team knocked it out of the park with an absolutely delicious cake. Marcela was even so kind to meet me for delivery when the shop was closed and it was her day off. Thank you Sweetness Team for making the big 30th birthday a smash success!

Melissa was very accommodating with the shorter than their recommended lead time of about 3.5 weeks versus 4 weeks in advance and was very responsive throughout the entire process through email with the final confirmation over the phone. On the day of the pick up, they also remembered we were coming in from LA and followed up with us to make sure we were going to get there before they closed at 4PM. They had a wide variety of flavors to choose from that could be cake, but we settled on traditional chocolate, one of the flavors that allow for a custom design. We sent them an inspiration photo of what we were looking for along with the color scheme and they absolutely knocked it out of the park on the looks. The cake was well received by everyone at the party. Since I was unable to get one of their more daring and creative flavors as the custom cake, I did go ahead and order a dozen of their Dubai chocolate cupcakes and very much enjoyed them.

The price of the cake felt like great value for what we received, and he delivered the cake to our Airbnb on time on the day of the party. The pink champagne flavor was delicious and the flavors in each layer paired nicely together, making each slice a complete experience. Everything I sent was soft pastel buttercream, and I was hoping for something in softer pastel instead. As the photos show, the cake I received went in a very different direction: a bright greenish printed edible-image wrap with dark borders and a lot of color and detail on top. It's clearly a lot of work, and I can see the effort in it, it just wasn't the calmer look I'd asked for, and it read as much busier than I expected. The topper also arrived leaning to one side with a jagged cut and unfinished back, which was a little disappointing for a centerpiece. In fairness, Dorothy was prompt and polite throughout, and responded kindly when I shared my feedback. She explained she'd taken a more whimsical interpretation of the references and offered 10% off a future order. I appreciated the gesture, though it didn't quite address a piece that didn't match the brief. I've attached my references and the cake I received. For the price and the lead time, I'd hoped for something a little closer to what I sent, so I don't think I'd order again, but I wish her well.
