After finding my move would be more difficult than expected, (Alec) asked if I would be flexible to reschedule for the following Monday between 8 & 9 am to have a "fresh" team. I agreed. However, he apparently failed to reschedule me at the time HE suggested. He never contacted me to inform me they would not be coming between 8-9 am nor did he inform his team that would be moving me at that time. He instead scheduled them to be at my home that Monday between 11 am and 4 pm, which was not the agreed upon time not to mention was a ridiculous gap of time. I tried to contact him after no one had shown by 9 but, of course (according to Travis) Alec went out of state for the weekend with his family and could not be reached even though he gave me a number to contact him at any time. Travis said he would look into it and try to talk to Alec and get back to me ASAP. I never heard from either of them and still have not. The team ended up getting to my home that Monday by 2:30 pm after having moved another customer which is exactly what Alec said he was preventing by doing the reschedule for the morning. Having said all that, the team that arrived that day did an outstanding job. They were friendly, courteous, worked steadily, hard and very carefully. They were extra careful with the items I mentioned were of great importance to us. I give them 5 stars and would have them move us again without hesitation. The workers were outstanding. The office management could/should definitely learn a thing or two from them. I do recommend them based on the workers but I suggest you speak to someone other than Alec or Travis when scheduling or setting up your move.

Do Not Use All My Sons for a Full-Home Move (Hire Two Men and a Truck Instead)…read more TL;DR: All My Sons is entirely incapable of handling a full-home move. Their estimators are incompetent, their crews are unprepared, management will blame you for their mistakes, and they will charge you the legal maximum regardless of the actual time spent. Save yourself the nightmare and use Two Men and a Truck instead--we had to hire them to finish the job All My Sons abandoned. The "Expert" Estimation: We hired them to move our home (2 beds, 2.5 baths, office, sunroom, living room, kitchen, no major appliances [fridge / W&D / stove all stayed]) about an hour away. During the quote, we did a meticulously detailed walkthrough through video call, opening every closet and transparently showing everything. The estimator laughably bragged about having "30 years of experience" and assured us that 1 truck, 4 people, and 8 hours was all we needed. When we asked if we should disassemble our own furniture to save time, he told us not to bother and to let the movers do it. Moving Day Chaos: Fast forward to moving day, and nothing aligned with our paperwork. First, the crew size that showed up didn't match the quote. Second, they immediately announced they "don't disassemble" standing desks. (The 30-year estimator probably should have mentioned that). We took it apart ourselves without issue, but the laziness was already apparent. The Truck & The Treadmill: About halfway through, the crew started complaining that the truck was getting full and we were "way over weight" (a bizarre complaint for an hourly-based move). They eventually forced us to choose between moving our sunroom furniture or our treadmill. We chose the heavy treadmill. The crew walked into the room, decided it was too big to fit through the doorway, and refused to maneuver it, take the door off the hinges, or disassemble it. They ultimately left the treadmill behind, along with a large rug, patio furniture, and part of the sunroom furniture. Unprofessional Management: To add insult to injury, we received a call from management as soon as the crew areived to deliver. Instead of apologizing for leaving half our house behind, they actually chastised US for being "way over weight." Forgive me, but isn't accurately assessing the weight, truck size, and crew needed the exact job of your "30-years-experience" estimator? I would have gladly accepted a higher, more accurate initial estimate. Instead, they botched the logistics and verbally berated us for having too much stuff. The Billing Scam: Here is the ultimate kicker- the crew finished delivering the portion of our home they actually bothered to move at *exactly* the 8-hour mark we were quoted. (Remember, despite all their complaints, this was an hourly-rate move.) Yet, All My Sons charged us the absolute maximum amount (150% of the quoted amount). We paid a massive premium for an incomplete job, and then we ultimately had to hire a secondary, actually competent moving company to get the rest of our things. All My Sons runs a shady operation. They will pretend they can handle your move, blame you when their logistics fail, and still ensure they drain you for the absolute maximum amount possible. Avoid them at all costs.

After many moves throughout my career, I feel qualified to provide an honest review of a moving…read morecompany. During 7 years in the United States Air Force, I relocated to four different assignments. Later, while working for the Federal Aviation Administration, I completed six additional cross-country reassignments. Most of these moves involved professional movers such as United Van Lines, American Van Lines, Allied, and Two Men and a Truck. We also handled a few moves ourselves when we were younger. Most recently, we moved from Clemmons to King, NC after purchasing a new home. Wanting to support a local business, we chose Amplify Movers and Logistics LLC. Instead of conducting an in-home estimate, the owner requested that I send photos of the items to be moved. The quote came in nearly $1,000 less than another company we considered. In hindsight, that should have been a warning sign. Prior to moving day, communication was excellent and we felt confident in our decision. Unfortunately, the actual move was a very different experience. Before the move, we had already sold two large bulky items, yet the quoted price remained unchanged, which we accepted without issue. On moving day, four movers and a 28' U-Haul truck arrived around 8:00 AM. Marlene arrived about an hour later to briefly oversee the operation before leaving. By noon, both we and the lead mover realized the truck was far too small. The truck was already packed to the wheel wells and they had not even started loading the bedroom furniture. Several calls were made to Marlene. The crew attempted to unload and repack the truck multiple times without success. Eventually, Marlene asked what items we could transport ourselves, which would have required several trips using our SUV. Frustrated and wanting to keep things moving, I personally rented a second U-Haul truck. I informed Marlene of our plan, but despite her business also renting U-Haul trucks, she offered no assistance or compensation for the additional expense caused by the poor estimate. As a result, I incurred an extra $130 for the truck rental plus approximately $50 in fuel costs entirely due to improper planning. When I returned with the second truck, the crew was still loading the first one. Eventually both trucks were completely filled and we headed to King. During unloading, we were informed that our office desk had been broken. This desk had previously survived multiple professional moves, including cross-country transport and upstairs delivery, without being dismantled. My wife specifically advised the movers that it could be carried in one piece, but they chose to disassemble it anyway and broke several components in the process. Marlene's solution was to reduce the bill by $50. Considering the replacement cost of the desk was approximately $275 plus assembly time, this felt insulting rather than helpful. Once unloading was complete around 6:00 PM, we began noticing additional damage: scraped furniture, a broken bed support, a cracked bookshelf, and stained mattresses. Some furniture was wrapped only in plastic wrap instead of moving blankets, and the mattresses were dragged across the ground without protective mattress covers. To be clear, the movers themselves were courteous, respectful, and worked very hard throughout the day. We tipped them well because the issues were clearly the result of poor planning and management rather than lack of effort from the crew. What surprised me most was receiving a follow-up call from Marlene asking for a 5-star Google review. I explained that would not be possible given the damages, added expenses, and overall experience. If your primary concern is finding the cheapest possible mover, Amplify Movers may meet your needs. However, if you value professionalism, accurate estimating, proper equipment planning, and careful handling of your belongings, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Last week we completed our move from NC back to MI using U-Pack and hiring our own labor to help pack, load and unload. U-Pack was perfect. It was very easy to schedule a container. We really had the best of intentions hiring Big Kev. We like to support small and local businesses…read moreand the prices seemed reasonable. Unfortunately, this was the biggest mistake we've made in a very long time. The movers who showed up that day were friendly, but that was the only good thing about hiring this "company". I sent a specific and detailed list of items to be moved and the owner, Kevin, estimated a 4 hour job based on that list. He rented a 26 foot U-Haul for the job based on this estimate as well. He was not present on the day of the move, but sent two other movers. The 4 hour estimate turned into 9.5 hours by the end of the day, and the items I had listed to be moved did not all fit in the truck, so some things had to be left behind. When the crew arrived at our destination, a new construction neighborhood, they drove the truck up onto the yard across the street from us while attempting to back into the driveway, destroying the neighbors' newly laid wet sod into a muddy pit. Not a great start for us, as we had not even met these new neighbors yet. I had reached out to Kevin to come help his team unload the truck that evening, since we were already double the time estimated and the price was climbing by the minute. Instead of settling into our new home that evening, we had to be up early to drive the hour back to our apartment the next day to help him load up the rest of our belongings into his truck, as well as our truck. This was unlike any hired mover experience we'd ever had. Not only did the job drag out for many hours past the estimate, then we had to go back the next day and take a truckload of things ourselves. Good thing we also have access to a pickup truck because all the items would not have fit in my sedan. We have tried and tried to get Big Kev to work with the people across the street to get the lawn repaired, but he is refusing to make this mistake right, and he was reluctant to put a claim through insurance. He has had plenty of opportunities in the ONE FULL MONTH since the move. We never saw any proof of insurance in this whole ordeal, though the company is advertised as being insured and bonded. We have countless broken items, paid well over the original estimate AND the yard across the street is still not repaired. We had a new washing machine that was only a few months old. They dropped it while unloading it from the truck, putting three large dents in the front and sides, but would not take anything off the total on the day of the move because "the damage was only cosmetic". We had not plugged in the washing machine or tried to see if it worked before they made that claim. We are very disappointed in this whole experience. We chose a Yelp Guaranteed business because we thought that was on the safe side, but we have had nothing but stress over this. While we are very sad and discouraged over the state of our own personal items, we are more concerned with making the issue of the damaged front yard right again for our new neighbors. When I tried to check in with Kevin about the neighbor's property, he said that he "has it handled". It is not handled. There are good reviews here but please save yourself the hassle and avoid this company to handle your move. I've seen no evidence of being "bonded and insured" since he was so adamant about not wanting to put a claim through insurance to make things right with the destroyed lawn and your inevitably damaged property will remain damaged. The "Yelp Guarantee" does not mean anything, so don't let that trick you because they are no help in this situation and do not hold those businesses with the Yelp Guarantee stamp to any kind of standards. Original Quote: 4 hours at $120= $480 Truck rental fee: estimated $100-$110 Quote Total: Est $590 Actual Charges: 9 hours at $120= $1,080 Truck Rental fee: $200 Total Charged: $1280 Additionally, we now have to replace the broken items and repair damages out of pocket. Please just pay a little more to a reputable company who will take responsibility for their actions
