I had originally been interested in Stratford Self Storage since it is so close to my house, but when I went in April they were completely booked up. Word of warning if you need a storage unit look in early spring or late fall so that the Wake students don't have a chance to snag every one of them! They have a decent sized loading area out front. The only down side it is sloped on both sides, if you don't park exactly in the middle you have to worry about your cart rolling away. They have about six cart options inside so you can easily find something that works to carry all your belongings in. The manager and front dest staff are friendly and are happy to help. They do lock checks every Monday so if you forget to lock your unit they have you covered. They are located behind the Total Wine and More and IFC Chefsmart.

I inherited a storage unit located here. At first, I was going to move to one closer to my house…read morebut after shopping around, I just couldn't beat Stratford Self Storage. I called and stopped in a few times to find the best option, and the manager, Victoria, took such good care of me. She answered all my questions and presented me with several different options to fit my needs. She also spent extra time with me on the "move in" day and helped me move my stuff from one unit to another. The location is slightly hidden behind Carrabba's and Total Wine. There is a deep slope leading to the entrance. When I asked why such a slope, she told me it was to ensure there was no flooding. She explained it well, I just don't understand landscaping. The hallways are always clean, no funny odors, and I feel safe keeping my stuff there long term with the climate controlled units.

Update on AAA storage:…read more I was waiting to speak to Amanda, when I observed a perspective renter asking about storage spaces. The individual was unable to walk the steep hill to the unit so, Amanda checked and was able to accommodate the individual by showing them another unit. Amanda is very receptive to the needs of her customers. When I was looking for a storage unit the other facilities I looked at had golf carts to show their property. I would hope AAA owners would look to have golf carts in the near future. The facility is clean, secure and Amanda makes this property what it is!!

Well. Everything was alright for awhile. The following are a list of things I didnt like…read more 1. After having my storage unit I went one day ti put something in my unit. Idk what happened, but the door was ofd thw track like someone had backed I to the door, or puahed it off the traxk trying to get in. 2. I went to my unit on a Wednesday to start clearing it out. Once I opened the gate, the door never shut back. I went to the office and let them know. I came back on that Friday to finish clearing out my unit and the door was still open. Side note. If the lady who walked up to me while I was attempting to load my car worked at AAA. Maybe you should announce yourself instead of randomly walking up to the person who is unloading their belongings and knows the main gate is broken. I thought you were trying to rob me. (My inner Karen was coming out.) 3. Every time I tried calling to speak to someone, no one answered. So I left a message that I was canceling my unit, and I figured since I already was paid up for Feb, no one would credit me back any of the 56 I already paid, but I still had hope I might. They sent me a 25 dollar credit for myself or someone I know to use. Wont be using, as I wont be coming back.

Subject: Incident Report Regarding Security Concerns…read more Hello, my name is Cheryl Smith, and along with my partner Kelly Davis, we have purchased two units from Bee Safe. I have a unit in Greensboro (Beesafe Battleground), while Kelly has ours in Winston Salem at 110 S Broad St. Today, around 10:40 AM, I arrived and opened the doors to access my unit. A white man with a leather jacket and backpack approached from the street, no car, entered without a code, and immediately went up the elevator. I waited, feeling uneasy as I was alone and the storage facility had not yet opened. The man did not return. When Bee Safe opened at 11:00 AM, I spoke with Mars Gwynn about the incident. Unfortunately, she was dismissive and rude, stating, "He didn't break in; he just went to the 2nd floor." When I asked if she knew him, she replied no. I expressed my discomfort as a woman alone, and he did not use a code or never came out to which she responded condescendingly, "What do you want me to do about it?" I informed her that if no action was taken, I would call the police. I also urged her to be more professional in her demeanor. As I was on the phone with the police, Mars emerged from the building with the man, who was holding a painting. I informed the police that it seemed she was familiar with him. I wanted to bring this to your attention as I feel strongly about the need for improved security and professionalism in handling such situations. The women who I mistakenly mislabeled as a teen never smiled, offered to help in any way and seemed totally fine with this man, almost like she knew him. However never mentioned he was an employee.
