Bobby and 828 Movers moved me from West Asheville to East Asheville in early May of 2019. This was to/from a 3 bedroom house, requiring two truckloads. Bobby was very professional from start to finish -- he gave us an in-person estimate before the move, checked in with us periodically before the move (as our moving date was somewhat fluid), showed up right on time on moving day, and he and his crew worked their butts of to get the job done well. I wavered between rating 828 Movers with 5 stars or 4, because the move was not without it's "features." Bobby's estimate of time and moving volume were way too low; and there was a problem with one piece of furniture. What made me go with 5 stars is that Bobby handled everything so professionally and kindly. When he discovered the move was more difficult than he expected (both the volume and the fact that he was moving us into a home on a fairly steep slope), he called in his reserves, and successfully completed the move. With the furniture problem, he came out almost two weeks after the move and remedied the situation. When the move was completed, he offered me a discount for the underestimation and didn't charge extra for the "reserves" he called in. I was facing the daunting prospect of moving some furniture from my late mother's house in Maggie Valley, NC to my home in Philadelphia, a 10+ hour drive each way. I contacted several local and national moving companies who advertised long-distance moves, and only three got back to me. Of the three, Bobby at 828 Movers' messages stood out because they arrived quickly and were warm and personable. His quoted estimate was also the most affordable, so it wasn't really a hard decision! There were additional scheduling challenges because I needed to fly out to Maggie Valley, pull everything to be moved, get it picked up, and then fly back home in time to meet them at the other end, so we had to work around the airline's schedules. He kept in touch throughout the day and was easy-going and accommodating when my flight was delayed, and again when I ran into construction and unexpected traffic right before our meeting time. I can't begin to praise Bobby and Ethan enough for everything they did to make this move go well! I was moving my mother from her home in NC to an assisted living facility in Virginia. This meant moving some of her furniture along with other possessions 400 miles away from Western NC. Bobby responded quickly to my request for an estimate, and kept in touch with me until moving day. Bobby and Ethan arrived promptly, were so friendly and helpful, loaded quickly and made sure that everything was packed well to travel. After a 6 hr drive, they met me at the facility and unloaded furniture both there and at my home. Throughout the process they were pleasant, talkative, friendly and HELPFUL!! I couldn't have asked for a better experience during an extremely hectic and difficult time. He was genuinely concerned about moving some high-end grandfather clocks and other antiques and discussed how they would be moved to prevent damage. He and his team took extreme care in loading and unloading our things and put them exactly where we wanted. I could tell right away, when I spoke to Bobby on the phone, that he was a nice guy who was going to do a great job. And as soon as I saw Drake and David, I could see they were too. Bobby stayed in good communication, and the three showed up in Bobby's 16' truck right when they said they would. They moved quickly to unload the delivery they had picked up for me from FedEx Freight, and they figured out a great way to track as little dirt as possible through my house while getting the 10'-long building materials to the lower level. They even obliged on taking downstairs three heavy boxes sitting by my front door that I had forgotten to mention to Bobby when I set up the delivery. The rating says "As good as it get!" and yet if I could I would rate these guys even higher. Their professionalism and care for our office contents was outstanding. The speed in which they moved our entire operation was amazing and efficient. Three floors of office to two floors of expansion was handled timely and with only two small pieces broken, which they deducted from the cost of the move. Forget the other two guys and a vehicle as they were overpriced and unwilling to negotiate. Bobby and his crew were cost efficient and just plain fun to work with. I would use these guys for any other corporate move as well as handling any personal move I have in the future. I was 100% pleased with the service we received from Bobby and Ethan. My daughter moved from Boone, NC to Brevard NC and of course the weather was awful on this particular day, icy and foggy. They were right on time and did an excellent job of getting everything loaded. They were very careful with all the items as if they were there own. We had a few hiccups on our end with my daughter securing housing in Brevard, about a week before the scheduled move. Everything went well! These guys, Bobby and Jordan are awesome, and make a great team. They are the fastest moving movers I've ever had! Not only are they entertaining, but they can start early if needed.
