Son and I paid for a four hour fishing trip with Capt John on the kennebec river. (600 before tip)…read more Highly recommend. Plenty of parking at the pickup spot. Stepped right into the boat and into the fish in ten minutes. Caught 17-20 stripped bass in the 5-20 lb range. Live mackerel for bait. Mostly used no weight and little tackle between us and the fish - a great experience. Halfway thru the trip we ran from the Bath, ME area.out to the coast near Fort Popham to stock up on more bait l, which was fun too as we had 3-5 of those on one jig a couple times. John was friendly and helpful. His VAST experience in the fishery is obvious. He is on the water he says about 170 trips/year. His boat is well configured with side sonar and station keeping (GPS synced) electric engine on the bow. We experimented with locations a lot. He's got hundreds of marked waypoints on his map. With side sonar out to 150-200 feet he can tell where the fish are holding. If no obvious action after like 20 minutes we move on. I've fished all my life..I'm hard pressed to remember a better day on the water. Stripped bass hit like a a sledgehammer and are strong fighters. This was the only species we encountered. We were able to release most fish due to the magic of the circle hook. We kept one mainly because the foul hook was going to kill it anyway. Go.

We even confirmed the reservation just yesterday. We're staying at Spruce Point Inn and literally saw the boat leave this morning -- with a different group. We were told it was due to a new scheduling system, and that the other group's trip had been canceled the day before. But it's incredibly frustrating and hard to accept that our private charter, which had been booked far in advance, was the one that got bumped last minute. There was no meaningful apology. Just an offer to rebook us for tomorrow (when the weather looks terrible) or refund us. No real effort to make things right. This was supposed to be a highlight of our trip -- instead, it left us scrambling and disappointed on a very important and personal day. Totally unacceptable. I would not recommend trusting this company with your plans, especially if you're celebrating something meaningful.

I (being an unseasoned fisher) was unsure of what to expect, but these two men went above and beyond! They are both super personable, have hilarious stories, and gave awesome advice for the rest of our trip. Anybody (young or old) would feel comfortable & get along well with them. They were so patient when teaching me, meanwhile giving my boyfriend some space to do his own thing! We caught plenty of fish, primarily haddock, which we ended up taking home with us. It was a beautiful day, with great music and good company. Thank you for creating such a memorable experience for us!

Our shark fishing trip with Teazer Charters was the perfect close to summer before the new school…read moreyear and hectic fall sports season begins. Captain Pete is a seasoned, safety-conscious professional with a fun, entertaining personality. His boat "Teazer" is immaculate and equipped to the hilt. Stormy weather was forecasted for our scheduled shark fishing trip, which would've taken us 25 miles offshore. With an 11 year old aboard, there were concerns about discomfort and sea-sickness. Captain Pete was very flexible, and instead of taking us off shore, brought us to an area where we fished for groundfish. With the fishing slow, we picked up and steamed to another area to try it out. When Captain Pete realized that all 5 of us were handling the rough conditions quite well, he offered to take us out to the old lightship area to fish for sharks as well as groundfish. This would take us further offshore, but not all the way out to the regular sharking grounds. We continued catching groundfish, and also successfully brought in a nice blue shark before heading back in at the end of the day. The mate, Alex, was also outstanding. He was a very knowledgeable, friendly gentleman who kept all of the gear and bait in order so we could continue fishing throughout the day. He didn't stop working! We all plan on making this an annual tradition, and look forward to heading back out with Teazer again next summer.
