With that off my chest, Advanced Vision Care offers one of the best, comprehensive, through, eye exam that you can get in Victoria. The scheduling is easy, online or over the phone. The receptionist is helpful, the nurses are knowledgeable and personal and the Doctors actually seem like they want to talk to you. I have had the pleasure of getting my eyes examined twice by Dr. Baker and my husband has had one exam by the male Doctor (I know his name starts with an F). The first time was a pleasurable experience, so much that I recommended them to everyone I knew. The second was just as good as the first, the only difference being the openness of the price and produces to be done that day. They were not exactly secretive of the price before, they were just more vocal about this time without being pushy. What it boils down to is if you want a full, in-depth eye exam go here. But, I reached the point that in my early 30s I was going to be tongue tied and they could no longer make impressions of my teeth. I had to do it. Dr Rader came highly recommended and he did. It disappoint. His bedside manner is impeccable and his pre and post surgical regimen minimized the pain. If I had to have the surgery again I would definitely chose Dr.Rader.

I am from Vail, Colorado, where I lived for almost thirty years. Two years ago, I walked out my front door and slipped down 5 steps, hit my chin on icy concrete~( We lived at over 8000 feet, and hit my eye on a car ) I have had a bulb on my chin and inflammation on both sides of my face, within one treatment the scar tissue is almost gone, I have been very self-conscience of this since it happened, also my neck jammed up, I needed botox for my TMJ, a mouth guard and this has finally helped me beyond belief. I had an emergency situation, I called all the dental offices in the area to make sure that they took my insurance. SADLY I chose lavaca dental. upon arriving at the office after waiting three days, they lied and said that they called me to tell me they didn't take my insurance...funny she didn't have any of my information when I walked in (including phone number & NO PHONE RECORD OF A CALL) it was an emergency so I went ahead and did the procedure. after waiting a month and several visits (One of which they scheduled and weren't even open that day !!!) they did not honor their quote to me from my first visit they did not finish the treatment that I needed ! fighting the charges!!!!

Unfortunately in my haste I didn't notice and therefore I have to say it was my own damned fault that I feel taken advantage of. While the hygienist was good, I was not happy with the dentist who apparently did not speak much English. I found he was one of the roughest dentists I've been to. Also unfortunately I paid the entire quote in advance after the first of several visits. When I realized my mistake I instructed them to cease all work and informed them I would pursue the rest of services from another provider. After no credit would be provided, I then disputed the charge with my credit card company and was informed that the dentist refused my claim. At present I plan to take them to small claims court. They are part of a large corporate chain, and my numerous requests to speak with a higher level have been ignored. Lessons to be learned: 1) Don't chose this dentist 2) If you do, only pay for the services as they are performed and not for the full scope of the quote in advance. I know dentists operate on a tight margin with high competition, but this one needs to be more ethical, more professional and more considerate.

She…read morehas formed a relationship with my family and really cares about how we're doing and what we're up to. Her practice is run out of a renovated house, which adds to the intimacy of the experience. It's usually just her and her receptionist working at any time, so everything is really personal. She knows what she's doing, but everything seems a little old fashioned and the equipment obsolete, especially compared to the doctor I see in Austin. She has fewer instruments and limits exams to only the eye chart and a flashlight. She doesn't have the new retinal imaging system, so you pretty much have to have your eyes dilated for you to get them really checked, but that's understandable since the former method has got to be crazy expensive. That brings me to the next topic: price. Dr. Oakley is much cheaper than the other doctor I mentioned. I'd say the price difference is appropriate for the services offered, and she's just a great person to get to know. The eyeglass selection is OK, but you're not going to find anything unique or cool here. She's not really in the business of selling glasses, which can be a plus if you're trying to avoid salespeople. She may not have the newest machines, or biggest selection of glasses or contacts, but she's a smart cookie and the nicest doctor around. She's definitely a good choice for an everyday optometrist, especially for families.
