I am totally and utterly disappointed in this office! I went in today, as an emergency patient,…read morebecause I had developed an extremely sharp pain and throbbing in one of my front teeth today while at work. Called to ask if they could get me in as soon as I got off, they knowing who I was as I have been there in the past said yes to come right away and they would treat me. I showed up and went to check in, when they informed me my father (who's insurance I am on) owed a bill for HIS dental work he had done and that they would not treat me until it was paid. Now- here's the kicker.. they told me he mailed in and they received a payment for his bill YESTERDAY, but they still wouldn't see ME until his bill was paid in full. Obviously I was not happy and I am standing there clearly in pain, when they tell me- "maybe you should just go to river hills". I'm assuming because they thought I don't have money and can't afford to be in their office. I was pissed. I walked out of their office immediately (I needed to find somewhere to be seen before closing hours) and you know what? I called river hills and thankfully they got me in. (Kudos to their office btw!!) As this is happening I called my dad to tell him what had happened and so he called and was going to make a payment to them so I could be seen, and they said to him "well we don't think the dentist will see her now because she was rude to us" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! Oh well. I went to river hills and I apparently have an abscess on my tooth and need a root canal... so YES I WAS IN ALOT OF PAIN! Very poor customer service to the front desk workers and even worse for the practice itself. Awful just awful!!!

So had to get money up . Got it called. But nobody would call me back. This is been going on for a few weeks with no calls. I asked the dentis to pull one tooth that was hurting. He told.mr no. Do it all at once. So now I have infected tooth. Can't afford to go get another dentis. Cause what that visit cost. Nobody will call back. They are rude and dont seem to care about patient. Just want money So now I have to live with infected tooth till I can get insurance to help pay again..

I went there because I was in pain from a tooth that either needed fixed or pulled and I was told…read morethey would help me, they said they were going to do there full scan because it was included. So they did many, many x-rays on my mouth without the lead vest. Did all kinds of scans, did a gum check and probably a few more things just to have the dentist or doctor come in and be incredibly rude, then told me if he fixed just one tooth i would be right back in next week wanting another one fixed and the only option is to get some full mouth surgery. Its all an up-sale, they don't care about helping you. I went to River Hills the same day and got it pulled and everything is fine. The dentist there was fantastic and i highly recommend River Hills in Centerville. If this review can save one person from going through this sort of experience then I am happy. The office experience was fine.

Then when it came time to go over insurance and we mentioned we have dental insurance through the state, the receptionist got persnickety and said "we don't take state insurance." Being as how there's no other orthodontists in southeast Iowa, I guess you're screwed if you're lower income and need your teeth fixed!
