They show up as scheduled and do what they say they'll do. Today Dana Dowling (on his birthday, no less ! ) showed up to do some tree work for us including fertilizing our prize oak in the front yard and trimming another water oak in the backyard. He introduced his foreman, Brent who completed all of the work. We had scheduled our work in conjunction with that of two of our neighbors who also appreciate and use Dowling. While not the cheapest, they are the best and After completing the scheduled work, we 'caught' Brent blowing all of the leaves off our roof (2700 SF house) then blowing all of the leaves off our lawns, front and side yards (3-4,000 SF min.). The he went to the cul de sac and cleaned up every last leaf he could find. You cannot beat these guys for their work ethic, their conscientious and safe prosecution of the work, and having the right employees and equipment to do the work properly in a timely manner. Not only that but they are courteous and polite. As a General Contractor for 44 years, I have worked with a variety of vendors. This is the firm that will continue to our work as it comes up. While not the cheapest, they are certainly the best. It is worth a great deal to not worry about some guy falling out of a tree, having an accident with a chain saw,, or as recently happened to one of my clients who went with the 'cheap price' on another job only to have the tree crew dropping an 80' tree on the roof of his house seriously damaging the roof which just been repaired (estimated cost of repairs ($5,000 +). I will continue to refer Dowling to my clients, associates, and friends which in turn will allow mt sleep at night.

My first experience with a tree service was with an 'I'm in your area, I'll do yours for a discount' company. They promptly cracked my paved driveway in too many places to repair with their large cherry picker (which I apparently agreed might happen). Next I went with a highly recommended company who gave me an expert assessment, price, then sent their limb-hackers out and did exactly what I told them not to do . . . they also made ruts in my lawn with slightly smaller equipment. After doing some investigation I decided to call a professional arborist who loves trees as much as I do (even more as it turns out!). After watching Angela Wilson's short bio on YouTube, I was sold - I would use her service. As it turns out her and her husband Tim (the 'Spiderman' of the company) solved all of my problems, even some I didn't know I had (they saved two of my palms from starving to death!). They quickly and efficiently cleared out heavy overgrowth from some old oak trees hanging over my house. I wanted it done before hurricane season kicked off.
