Kevin Gilbert is both incompetent and unfit to attend to the ill and injured. I called Gilbert's office in mid-May 2025 for an insurance referral to see an ENT to have my ear irrigated due to wax buildup.
His secretary Kim misled me into believing Gilbert would be performing the ear irrigation and was qualified to perform the irrigation and told me to come into the office, that Gilbert would complete the irrigation.
I arrived on May 23, 2025 only to be seen by a highly incompetent nursing assistant named Juliettte who had been working at Gilbert's office for only a few months. She informed me that she would be doing the irrigation.
I never saw or heard from Gilbert on May 23, 2025.
The"nursing assistant" had zero idea as to what she was doing. Using an antiquated "water gun" and not an irrigation vacuum (which is used by professional ENTs), the nursing assistant blasted my right ear eight times with powerful blasts of water.
The force of the water severely injured my ear, causing irreparable damage to the inner ear and my hearing.
At no point did Gilbert enter the room or even say hello. As I exited the room, his office door was closed.
I've been a patient of his for some time and couldn't believe he didn't check in to see how the "procedure" went.
In short time, it became apparent to me that my ear was severely damaged, and I sought medical attention.
Since May 23, I have seen an ENT four times, a neurologist twice, an audiologist twice, and countless specialists in pain management and treatment.
Almost one year later, my ear still has not healed, and the damage, according to these specialists, is permanent.
Dr. Gilbert lied in a signed affidavit saying that I was happy with the procedure and appeared to be fine when I left his office.
He never saw me, so to come to these conclusions is a blatant mistruth.
Adding to his disingenuousness-- the affidavit was auto-signed by someone other than Gilbert, demonstrating both his incompetence and lack of moral character.
The force of the water gum permanently damaged the Eustachian tube, ear drum, the inner ear, and ear canal while permanently diminishing my hearing in the right ear.
Dr. Gilbert is an irresponsible, incompetent and dishonest person masquerading as a doctor. His office secretary should never have led me to believe he was going to perform the irrigation or that anyone in his office was fit to perform such a procedure.
It's my belief I was told to come into his office and was not given a referral to see an ENT because he is in need of income.
Why else would someone mislead a patient into believing he was a doctor capable of performing such a procedure unless it was for financial reasons ?
Almost a year later, the pain and diminished hearing still exists.
Stay away from Gilbert and his staff. His office is populated with liars and the incompetent.
He is lazy and slovenly.
Gilbert is unfit to hold a license to practice medicine and would better serve the Palm Beach County community by retiring. read more
