I'm not sure how this doctor has so many great reviews but I would really encourage anyone considering going to this doctor to read my experience below. She and / or her office dropped the ball twice in what ended up being a cancer diagnosis.
Last April, I was hospitalized for a kidney stone. At that time, they did a CAT scan which showed an incidental finding of a lung nodule and I was told to followup in a year.
In October, I met Dr. Harrison and mentioned the lung nodule. I had told her that I had recently had a CAC test done and she said that she would be able to see the lung nodule on that test and would order a copy. Six months later, I thought "Hey! Whatever happened to looking at that CAC"? I called the office and the person on the phone said "Oh yeah, I requested it but I never heard back from them". And that was it. Dr. Harrison ordered a CAT scan of my chest.
The results of the chest CAT scan said that my lung nodule had not changed and there was no need for further follow-up. I make a point to always get copies of medical records. About a month later, I was reading the report when I noticed a line that said they observed a thyroid nodule. I called the office back and asked about it. They said that the doctor had already told me everything was fine so nothing further was needed. I pressed and asked if they were certain that Dr. Harrison had seen the line about the thyroid nodule. The next day, I got a call to schedule a thyroid ultrasound.
The ultrasound showed a nodule on my thyroid and that eventually lead to a further evaluation, biopsy and diagnosis. Needless to say, I was not happy with the lack of attentiveness and follow-up and I would not recommend Dr. Harrison. read more
