We've spent upwards of 50K with Hohler... lesson learned. Shortly after buying our home, the…read moresalesman encouraged us to put in radiant floor heating when we did our first renovation. He swore up and down that it would be the greatest thing for our home ever. Well... it never worked properly, even with multiple visits to bleed the lines, and check the system. More recently they installed a brand new furnace and a/c system, which included all new ducting that they installed. One of the a/c vents on the ceiling in our main staircase has a watermark all the way around the outside. Since they did all the work, one would expect that they would come out and inspect it, right? Nope. After reaching out to them, Rich sent me a text, and I quote "We would have insulated around the register boots. You may want to have (insert another company name) take a look at them though". In my opinion, Hohler clearly doesn't stand by their work. I believe that they were upset because (the other company) was able to do part of job that they were initially going to do for us, for less than half the price. Keep in mind though that we'd already spent over 50k with Hohler. I would never recommend them to anyone. They themselves recommend calling the other company.

Each year at the beginning of the cold season I scheduled them to come out to do any prep / maintenance and start the unit up. Each winter when the temps would drop below 0 degrees the unit would stop working and I'd call them out for service. There were many different techs that looked at the unit and serviced the unit - typically they'd tell me they thought the issue was the intake was sucking in exhaust - but that never made sense to me considering there were never issues until the temp dropped below zero. Recently the unit wouldn't start, so they sent out new tech who told me the "pump for the unit wasnt big enough to circulate the water" so I'd need a new pump which would cost well over $1000. I had told the tech that the unit was throwing a "blocked" error, and let him know I'd be getting estimates from other companies. The new company I called for an estimate sent someone out that has experience with the boiler system we have, he spent about an hour in the basement and then came up to explain to us why the unit has never worked properly - it wasnt installed correctly, the plumbing was all wrong and the exhaust & intake tubes were installed incorrectly. He also said it was clear that the unit had never been cleaned and serviced properly even though we'd had Bayside Comfort out every year to do so. It can be fixed, but we've chosen to replace it. I would never recommend Bayside to anyone. We spent a lot of money over the years for supposed maintenance and repairs with no solutions in sight, and one call to another company got us all the answers we'd been looking for. (as a side note, the tech from the new company told us whoever had serviced the unit last had intentionally deleted the last 2 error codes so it took him longer than it normally would to find the issues.)

This is a newer home (four years old) with a flooded master bathroom on a Friday morning. Eighty year olds stumbling in the dark at night to the second far off bathroom for three days a problem. The first they could look at it Monday. After several calls that was going to be the best time. Lewis was at our door at exactly 8 AM, Monday. He looked at the toilet and saw a leaking supply line. He said he had one in his truck and I said replace it. He quickly did so. The one he replaced it with was braided steel, replacing a cheap plastic one so I ask if he had another to replace the same in our other bath if it was the same. He said he would check. He did and he did. He then went to the truck and made the bill. Travel to our home (less and one mile from their shop) $30. Labor $125 (labor rate $300/hour (I have Ring video times) parts $33+ I checked Amazon retail less than $12 for both. Very good service TOTAL time at property (including drive on and off) 27 minutes - total bill $188. So in my judgment three stars. Maybe send your kids to trade school not Yale.
