I've ordered several arrangements from GilMans, and so far they've never disappointed. They may be a little pricey, but it's well worth it.

I wanted to send flowers to my daughter at her workplace for her 30th birthday. I have always trusted Gil-man's with making my floral arrangements, so I went to Gil-man Florist the day before my daughter's birthday, which I admit I was cutting it short, and asked them if they could help me. They did not hesitate to come to my aid! I told them the kind of bouquet I wanted and the price range for it. They did not disappoint! The bouquet was absolutely exquisite! Gil-man's even went above and beyond common customer courtesy as the delivery address was at the very limit of their service area and they still made sure that the flowers were delivered in a timely fashion. I've ordered flowers from this establishment many times and have not been disappointed once. The price is great, the flowers I received look really close to the picture I chose them from, the quality is great and the overall satisfaction is excellent! I have to confess, when the new Florist (not blasting anyone here) opened up in the area I thought I'd give them a chance. Mainly because I like to spread my money around the community. But that was a HUGE mistake. The arrangement I had ordered was so thin it made me sick that I got ripped off spending so much for so little. And their customer service is what their business strives for but I never heard back from them regarding my complaint. After that experience I'll never try another florist in the area. I am extremely disappointed in a funeral arrangement I arranged to have sent to a family that lost someone dear. For the price I paid, I expected a FULL bouquet in a glass vase. I saw a picture after the fact, and it looked sparse and spindly at best. UPDATE: The shop handled this with utmost diplomacy and bent over backwards to make this right. It spoke volumes about who they are and I would do business with them again, if presented the chance. read more

I tried to refuse a flower delivery sent by my abuser and this florist said that was impossible, that they were obligated to deliver the flowers my abuser had ordered. This is not normal for florists. They could have refunded the money and said I had refused delivery. This is what most florists do. This florist defends abusers' "right" to send flowers to their victims. Be warned. read more

I live in California, but my parents live near Creedmoor. I've ordered flowers on the phone from Gil-Man several times. The service has always been excellent and the arrangements have been beautiful. One note: Use their web site to find the arrangement you want, but *order on the phone*. The web site will not always give accurate information about available delivery dates, and the delivery fee when I ordered by phone was substantially lower than the one quoted on the web site. read more

UPDATE: Response to Nicole's reply. Whether your employee's remember this incident or not, it happened. Maybe this situation isn't as important to you and your employees, since you send flowers daily, but to us... it was devastating. I had not visited your business since the early 90's until my grandfather passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011, so I have no reason to make anything up. As far as my posting here on Yelp being "amazing' to you, this is what this website is for. It's for positive AND negative reviews about local businesses. It AMAZES me that it has taken you so long to reply to my review. My two cousins accompanied me to your business on Monday, August 1, 2011, as soon as your doors opened that morning. We were the only customers in the store and we spent about 30 minutes inside, looking through books and telling the woman behind the counter what we wanted and what we did not want. Our receipt clearly states what we ordered and has my cell phone number as the phone contact, however, someone at your business confused my number and receipt with my grandmother, mother and uncle's receipt and called them asking about OUR purchase later on that day. There were at least five people at their home when your business made the calls and heard the conversation with my mother and eventually, my cousin, once they figured out that your office had called them by mistake... trying to contact us. At 11:00 am on August 2, 2011, we arrived at my grandfather's viewing and began looking for our spray that we had purchased. To our surprise, what we had ordered was not there. Instead, there was a poorly put together wreath that looked like something you could buy at the dollar store, with our names on it. Both of my cousins, myself, our three spouses and children walked outside of the funeral home (which is right down the road from your business) and we called your office to find out what had gone wrong, with receipt in hand. The woman who answered was unapologetic about the mix up and didn't want to correct the mistake at all. After arguing for almost ten minutes, she finally agreed to send someone to the funeral home, take the item that we had not ordered and replace it with one that was similar to what we had requested. By the way, my mother and uncle's order was also wrong, but they were too distraught to even waste their time dealing with your office after seeing and hearing what we heard over the phone. We DID call and complain on August 2, 2011, at my grandfather's viewing and were underwhelmed by the customer service we received over the phone and with the product we paid for. We never received any refund, apology card, or phone call after our call on August 2, 2011. I waited months before I posted my review of your business on here, because I had hoped that someone in your office would step up and make things right. An apology would have sufficed, but we never heard anything until today, from Yelp. Unfortunately, I am still underwhelmed by your business and customer service skills. read more

I ordered a specific arrangement to be sent to my son and family for Christmas. When my grandson sent me a text with the picture of the arrangement that was delivered to their home I was appalled. It wasn't even close to what i had ordered and was of very poor quality. I called and the owner came up with several excuses as to why she sent that awful arrangement one of them being "It was the best she could do for the amount of money that was spent." I ordered the arrangement off of their website not the teleflora website. The owner wouldn't even try to come to an agreement. I would have been ashamed if it were my business that sent those flowers which were a few carnations and some pine boughs stuffed in a clear vase instead of red and white roses in a Christmas arrangement and pretty red vase. My work involves working with the general public and we strive on customer satisfaction. I will not use this florist again. The owner needs to polish up on their people and business skills. read more
