By phone, Brenda Moore listened as I described my ideas for table flowers for our recent 27th Timberlake Family Reunion. She described what she could do and about hi w much it would cost. Ms. Moore delivered and then some and the extra arrangements for the oldest and next to, were absolutely gorgeous! The delivery guy was the best ever bringing them to the Timberlake Suite of the Homestead Steakhouse and Seafood Restaurant. For 33 years I have operated the successful and national award-winning advertising firm, R F Timberlake & Company. And invariably I am asked what is the best form of advertising and i say, very simply, referral. I follow with always under promise and over deliver, but most now do not. Brenda Moore and her people, from whom we've purchased reunion arrangements before, deliver their promise and that's more beautiful than the flowers

Installation team (Adrian+) was on time, courteous, cleaned up the dirt staging area, did as I requested and generally were good to work with. The product was delivered as scheduled, but it contained large rocks one as big as 12"X5", branches  as long as 44" long, a plastic bottle shrunk due to heat, and lots of rock larger than four inches, and at least two broken bricks. It was as if someone loaded debris from a construction site and mixed it with some type of compost and delivered it to my place.  Capital Mulch & Mulch man (MulchMan & Capital Mulch 210 Baggett Ave, Raleigh, NC 27604) as listed on their invoice ,  has apparently no problem delivering lowest quality product and at premium pricing, without a concern about their reputation, and the impact it has on the project. We had to separate the debris by hand to make sure the aerator guy would not damage his equipment. See the picture attached. They have no screening process and No quality control. Extremely disappointing.

The rock selection is pretty good - there are definitely other rock and landscape supply folks in the Triangle that offer a larger selection, but not so close to downtown Durham (that I've found, at least!). We originally stopped in to ask for recommendations for a stone mason to help us rebuild a failing retaining wall...and their recommendations were spot-on. We ended up going with Graham Fry of Winding Path, btw, and LOVE his work...amazing. We've also gone by a few times to buy bulk rocks for the kids to play with in the yard ($100 worth!) and it was great fun for the boys to pick out and weigh the rocks they wanted to take home. Going to The Rock Shop is always a fun outing for our family.
