i asked for a pink french tip and mike did great! just what i asked for. will be going again! edit: it's been around four days and two of the nails have came off and one is lifting, i think my actual nail under my left thumb is cut. i expected more for $80. each nail is a different size and so are the french tips. he also is VERY rough with the e-file. he filed onto my skin multiple times causing it to burn and cut into my skin. you can see some of the cuts in the photo but there is more on the other hand, i wanted my nails to look nice in the photo. he also over filed the sides of my nails making the skin on the side of my nail hurt really badly. after his service my hands were red and irritated. this experience makes me wonder if mike even got his license legitimately. read more

Worst experience EVER! The guy that did my nail basically rush through everything! Let's start with my pedi I asked him to fix my big toe because the polish went onto my skin, his reply was my cuticle will grow over it. And it needed another coat which he did not do (my fault I should of been more demanding I guess because he did not listen to me at all). Waste of $50 Now my mani. I showed him a picture of what I wanted (very simple basically asked from color tips nothing to crazy) and I needed them to be short. When he cut them down I told him it's still a little to long for my liking. He told me not to worry when he file them they will be shorter. So he applied the acrylic and then file it down. At this point my nails are uneven, thick as hell, and separated from my real nail (lifting). So again I was being really nice about it and told him and he applied super glue to the gap! WTF... so at this point I just wanted to cry. I finally had the courage to ask him to stop. So the owner comes over take a look and said he was sorry and that it's not fixable he will take them off. So yes two hours wasted. And they still ask me to pay for my pedi. Not a great experience at all. All I got was a sorry and if you would like to come back they can try again. I'll pass! Almond shape. Full set $50, design $20. The salon was super busy but they do accept walk ins and was able to get me in within 10 minutes. They do take appointments and will prioritize those clients first if they're there waiting with you too. They started only taking CASH due to increased processing fee of cards. However, the ATM in their store wasn't working for me for some reason and they accepted my credit card payment. I originally showed a more complex nail design but the nail tech said she cannot do it. They also don't have gems. So, this salon is great for basic things like solid colors or simple designs. I feel so bad because the lady kept apologizing for messing up the design and redoing it because she said they don't usually do anything too crazy. Overall, I like how my nails turned out! I got my nails and toes done at gigis. Do not go here if you're looking for an acrylic set. The lady who did my toes was incredibly nice and I did like my toes. However, I was rushed in to sit down for my nails immediately after another client. No sanitization. Nothing got wiped down or even sprayed. Secondly, this shop is only focused on getting clients in and out, not on doing a quality job. I sat down and asked for long almond. The guy who was doing my nails cuts the first tip, asks me if it's okay, I say it looks to short, he then says "it will look longer with acrylic" and just kept going. I should've gotten up and walked out then. He proceeds to do my nails while constantly staring at the door and rushing through my nails. Acrylic is uneven, paint was uneven, there was no prep, no sanitation. Do not get your nails done here. Pay the extra $15 and go to a private nail tech who will care more about results than how many clients they can get in and out in a day. read more

After moving here 2 years ago and trying all the salons in town, Gigi's is my go-to nail salon in Mt. Pleasant. I've had a great experience *almost* every time I've been here. Todays visit was no exception. The tech at booth 11 is wonderful. My nails look absolutely gorgeous. I've also had a great experience with the tech at booth 12. I've also had a few other techs and been happy. *The only poor experience I've had was with a male tech at one of the first booths near the door--booth 4 maybe? (Please don't quote me, I don't remember the number.) While the full set he put on looked fine, I asked for my old acrylic to be removed first. He pried them off. No soak, no wrapping my nails with cotton and acetone, no filing down to make them thinner. He just slid a nail extension under the still-bonded acrylic and pried it up. It was extremely painful! I went in to get acrylic nails removed and nails painted. I was glad they took walk ins and the wait was not long. When they were removing the acrylic they did not get all of it off my nails and when done they did not have me wash my hands. There was a ton of residue when he started painting. I also was not asked if I wanted regular polish or gel. He immediately just gave me the gel options. The gel was sloppy and got all over my skin. Later that day my nails were already peeling. If I am paying more for gel polish, it should last weeks...not hours. Overall not great. read more

I went for a pedicure and Manicure to relax. My finger nails and cuticle are always kept healthy and I work hard to prevent ingrown toe nails. (I'm a former nail tech so I have the knowledge.) Not only did the tech cut my toe nails down the sides, causing sharp edges I now have to deal with, she damaged the cuticles on my fingernails. I have FIVE hangnails and skin pealing on two more. I haven't had a hang nail in over three years (caused by an injury), now I have FIVE? Tge person I had taken as a gift to her had tge same issues. So much for trying to relax. Not worth the $65 per person they charged me for Basic/classic service. read more

I treated my daughter and myself to a pedicure. She also had a manicure. I always like getting my feet massaged and calluses reduced. The warmth of the water and the soaking makes me feel relaxed. My experience here was exactly the sane. The young lady giving me the pedicure made me feel relaxed. She was gentle while trimming my toenails. I am ticklish a bit though so I had to be careful. The end result was my feet felt lighter and smoother when it was all finished. My toenails were trimmed with round corners too. The cost was reasonable too. Thank you Gigis! read more

This is today! I have had exceptional service but this is the 2nd time I've been wronged. Just make sure you know that they know EXACTLY what you want before starting. I showed the lady the exact nail I wanted x 10. One for each little piggy. And then I pointed to the $45 pedi and the extra $10 for the cat eyes ($10 for ten little piggies) and when she finished she had forgotten(or more likely, didn't know how to do them) the cat eyes and told me it was to late and shook the bottle of polish and said 'all gone' and charged me $55 because she said that's what I signed up for. I was able to schedule an appointment for my roommate and I within an hour to calling which was amazing on a Sunday! The salon was very clean and well managed. I showed the women, I cannot remember her name, with a French manicure type look. After she applied the acrylics, she showed me the base color to which I asked her for a shade darker. She convinced me otherwise and the it would be darker with more layers. I was very surprised when she only applied one coat which was not close to the color I showed in the photo. Then she did the French tip it was not like the photo but I don't mind. However, you can see my natural nail beneath the acrylic and the paint. It looks like my nails have 3 tones. read more

I've been going to Gigi's for years, and I'm officially done. I went to the salon for a basic shellac mani/pedi, and was shocked by the lack of communication. Then, the guy tried to charge me $50 for my pedicure, which I then said is normally $40. He immediately changed it back. By the time we got to nails, he didn't know any of the basic shapes. It was like I was asking for something complicated. This is the third time I've experienced this, so I got up and left. Don't be dissuaded by the exterior appearance. Needed quick mani-pedi services for my g-daughter and me late afternoon on a Monday. They were quick and proficient. Only drawback as always to be expected in a nail place is the language issue but there was someone to interpret so only a minor set-back. read more

I have this place a few tries as there's not that many other salons in the area and GiGi's is always dead, but I've always been disappointed.
