It turns out that that pleasure is amplified when I shop in person at a store like Eggy. I'd been aware of this store for a while and always figured it was Korean-owned, as "eggy" sounds like the Korean word for "baby." This suspicion was confirmed when I met the owner a few years ago (I'm friends with her cousin, it turns out). I went for the first time last month, to exchange a gift from his Aunty Carol and Uncle Kevin: a soft, adorable sleeper that I wanted to get in a bigger size (they got him a really nice wooden dancing alligator toy too, also from Eggy). The sales lady was very helpful. She found the order and looked for the sleeper, but unfortunately, it didn't come in the size I needed. I returned the sleeper for store credit, which I immediately spent--and then some--and then some more--on a whole fall wardrobe for my son. The store was just so attractive, and so full of stylish, high quality clothes, I went full Pretty Woman on the baby boy racks. I pulled item after item (including a complete three-piece outfit as modeled by one of the little mannequins) and the sales lady brought me everything they had in my kid's size. At one point, I made her look at pictures of him and she--a woman who sells expensive children's clothes to L.A. parents!--said, "You're obsessed." I ended up buying a bunch of clothes, which I realized as I was leaving are likely to go on sale by the time my son is big/cold enough to wear them in a couple of months. My mother would be ashamed of me, but I couldn't resist, and I'll be back to Eggy to get more nice clothes for my beautiful boy.

Really cute baby store right on Main Street in Santa Monica. My husband and I came in here when I…read morewas still pregnant to review a few things that we had been eyeing for our registry in real life. Everything they carry is very luxe, high end brands and most of the materials seemed to be organic. The sales person was really nice and answered all of our questions. They also have a decent stroller selection that was really high end. She didn't know as much about car seats and stroller compatibility but was still very patient and nice. I'm excited to keep shopping here as our son grows up.

I walked in and the sales woman was helping the only other customer in the store. She never once acknowledged my presence in the 15mins I stood there with my hands full of items. Never a "hello", "I'll be right with you", or "let me know if you need anything". Even when I was standing at the cash register wanting to pay, she never turned her attention from this other man. All of my excitement was gone... I put my items down and left. And of course that wasn't acknowledged either. I'm extremely sad and disappointed. Luckily there are other amazing baby stores on this street so I was able to find the cutest things - and they were HAPPY to assist me!

Caro Bambino - For sure the best looking store I've ever seen. There is space to move around with the stroller, and ever a little play area for the kiddos.

Rockstar Kids on South Santa Monica Bl is a small shop that primarily sells fashionable clothing,…read moreshoes and accessories for kids, babies and adults who like A splash of bling, flash and luxury appeal. I've popped in here a few times and always purchase items for gifting and for my furbabe Fendi, who can often wear infant baby T-shirts. The shop has lots of crystal studded shoes with designer logos and crystal studded minuediere, very similar to designer Judith Leiber but at a fraction of the price. These small bags are very cute, and probably an adult might use and appreciate it more. This shop is a few doors from Sprinkles cupcakes and the display case always catches my attention. Earlier, I popped inside and purchased some mini backpacks with a clip-on for my little nieces. These are perfect as a coin and ID purse you clip-on to your jeans, clothing or bigger purse. Sabrina, the owner of the shop was very nice, patient and helped me pick out the perfect gifts and wrapped them up. There are so many cute, adorable things here, that if Fendi was my real human little girl, I shop here and purchase all the cute outfits perfect for a little ballerina princess angel :) If you're in the area, it's worth a visit, and be attempted to splurge for gifting or yourself.

I used to shop here frequently for my daughter's clothes because I genuinely like their products…read more However, during our last visit, I was with my 88-year-old mother and my 2-year-old daughter, who was wearing an outfit we had previously purchased from this store, a salesperson stopped us on our way out and questioned my daughter's sweater, implying it may not have been purchased. The situation felt completely unwarranted and made us very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the store's intense focus on theft prevention creates an unwelcoming and unpleasant shopping experience. Because of this, we will not be returning.

There are two types of people who go into Kitson. The first are people who seriously want kitschy…read moretrashy items and have a way expendable bank account to throw down. Those people may or may not also be coming for a photo op, for themselves. I have never met those people. The second are people who have no intent to buy anything, are aware of that, and use this store more as a museum on how WeHo retail epilepsy works. These people know well they can't afford it and walk in fully not caring, just to make fun of everything, maybe even bringing a friend along. Like that Mean Girls-inspired pink jacket that says 400 real American dollars on it. Or the shirt that has a very common Spice Girls photo on it marked at a nice 98 dollars. Not 100, not 99, 98 precisely. Like the last time they were popular. Yes I'm in the second category. Alls well that ends well though as you'll probably round out your cruise thru here in the discount section where employees (who could care less about not making personal phone calls on the clock) stockpile all the stuff that of course did not sell. And those things die a slow death until someone adopts them for the low low price of still-too-high at about 20 bucks or so for, well, whatever exactly this store sells. Currently discounted is a very distasteful and untimely "Palisades Dog Mom" sweatshirt. Yes it is still on full display. Thankfully, whoever you are, there is free parking next door, and you definitely should be in and out of here in way less than two hours.

We didn't know the family or child well, only that he was turning four and has an older brother. I purposely wanted to shop local and support an independent business, and a quick search on Yelp led me here. We arrived about an hour before closing on Saturday, which was great because parking meters end at 4pm and we found parking out front easily. We were greeted by an employee behind the desk as we walked in. She asked if there was anything she could help us find, and I let her know we were first time customers looking for a birthday gift with the details mentioned above. She let us know the layout of the store, her suggestions, but let us look freely. Over time more customers arrived with small children, and received the same courteous service. The store is clean and curated. I appreciated seeing well made toys and items inspiring imaginative play, rather than cheap plastic with distracting lights or sounds. I eventually chose a doctor play set as well as some items for my own children, such as animal figures and stamp markers. They offer free gift wrapping, which is a nice touch. The one alarming fact that stood out is that there were many empty storefronts on their block, so it's more important than ever to support our local economy. Their prices reflect investment in well made items, so I would not come here expecting big box store deals. In a world full of Target and Amazon, I would rather spend my money supporting a local, independent business. We had a great experience here and will definitely be back with our kids this holiday season.

The person on the phone came across as very rude, and it left a bad impression. Unfortunately, I'm now here leaving a negative review because of how poorly the call was handled.
