If you are looking to get impact windows, I would honestly recommend looking for a different company. This company is VERY unprofessional. Starting with the owner of the company who never answers to his customers phone calls. The installers are also careless and do a sloppy job at installing. Overall, not a good experience with GIG. read more

Beware - this is not a reputable company. My husband went to this place and ordered double front doors for our home. The order was taken by a salesperson named Jorge Moreno back in July, 2022 and we gave them 50% deposit. The contract read 15 -20 weeks to manufacture the doors. We ordered doors with a glass in the middle and iron work. We tried contacting Jorge Moreno for status of work early January, 2023 way past the 20 weeks deadline and it took us a few. tries to get a response. We contacted this company directly and they said Jorge didn't worked for them but for his own company! However paperwork shows this company address and deposit check was made payable to them. In early February Finally showed up with doors at our house but the glass was clear with no privacy. Jorge never put it on the contract although my husband had told him what we wanted. Also one of the doors didn't have holes for door knobs. So we didn't accept the delivery. He send us an email for us to add privacy glass to the doors but offered No quote or to put a film on doors. We have email him many times after for a resolution or to install doors as is to get this done and he does not answer our emails. read more

Never do business with this company. We signed a contract with General Impact on May 15, 2021 for all the exterior impact resistant doors and windows on our new home under construction. After an extended time of fabrication, we were required to pay the balance in full plus $500 cash before we could have the windows and doors delivered. Delivery was on September 29, 2021. The fabricator delivered the windows and doors and upon delivery we notified our salesman of the issues that we saw with the wrapping being torn and the window arrived scratched. Upon further inspection of the two windows we found that they had very bad fabrication cuts on the handles of each of the windows. These cuts were so bad that if someone tries to open the window their fingers/hands could be severely sliced open. We reported this immediately to our sales rep. and he said the windows came with a covering, that could not be located on site. After calls and texts back and forth over several weeks, we found out that the windows do not come with a covering and that was how they were fabricated. Also, our front door/ side lite was fabricated incorrectly based on their drawings, which they would not even address. We tried to discuss these issues with the operations manager, Keidy, as well as the owner, Tony Zuniga. Tony refused to accept any responsibility for any of the issues and would not even send someone to access how badly they were cut. When I discussed this with my sales rep., he said he was very disappointed in Tony's response. read more

VERY IMPORTANT READ ALL MY REVIEW Back in February 2017 I installed my Seventeen windows and Three doors with General Impact Glass & Windows Corp. At the time of Installation, the work was hard because my house is old and were several issues to resolve, and they did, but a month later the installation I noticed they left incomplete two of my windows frames on the inside. I called them and they worked a day to fix the mess they left on those windows. In 2020 I called again because my kitchen window is was always so hard to open, the windows were no longer under the one year guarantee, so their attitude over the phone changed, the woman that spoke with me was rude, and they asked me $250.00 for just to come, check the problem and eventually fix it, so I decided to leave the window as it is. This year 2021, tired of trying at all the my local locksmiths to make copy of my door's keys and all failed I decided to call them on 7-13-2021, I spoke with Supervisor Pastor, not only he told me that he has not a solution, but he also told me that their keys are very difficult to make copies, he told me that they cannot do nothing about it and they won't be able to do any key copy for me either. He said to me that if I keep trying maybe one day one of the copies would work. When I told him that was not right what he was answering to me, he started raising his voice telling me that I was trying to make a problem, I said no, I am trying to make a simple copy of my keys, he answered he can't help with that. This is my second experience calling them for an assistance out of my guarantee and the response was rude, no common sense and zero customer service. I recommended them to all my friends, they got a lot of business from me, and they treated in the worst manner. I would not recommend them again, and if you want to try them make sure that everything work in your year warrantee. read more

Worst company ever. Bad quality, poor service but most important, dishonest. We bought one type of window, low-e, and they exchanged it for plain lower quality glass that gets very hot with the weather, so in a summer day it is unbearable. We don't know about windows and realized that when they were installed, actually some time later. Even if we did, you are in for it, because they do business one side, they win you loose, because if you don't pay or ask for a change, they force you to do what they want, as they have a large deposit. Basically, we wasted $30k, no small amount. Additionally, several window glasses were scratched, frames bended and we requested service but never heard from them again. Main problems came from our sales rep. Ramiro Garcia. You sure don't want to deal with this guy, he will sweeten your ear to get you to buy, and then changes the product behind your back. Try to get a hold of him after he gets your deposit, he does a great disappearing act.He reappears to get the balance, and then disappears for good. General Impact is just another bad impact window company, like so many others in South Florida. We wonder how they even got certified. Stay away and remember, Ramiro Garcia, you don't want to deal with, even if he moves companies. read more

Under no circumstances should anyone use this company. They caused considerable damage to our unit while doing the installation. When the damage was brought to their attention they first denied there was damage and when we forwarded photos they blamed someone else. Rather than offering to repair the damage they pointed to wording in the contract which they claimed relieves them of any liability. Stay away. read more

Saleswoman was very eager. After I left a big deposit I haven't heard from them in months. I would never hire them again. Will have to fly to Miami and drive to their office now to find out what's going on. Piss poor Will start legal action read more

Sales person "Alex"overpromised at the time of sale. He said my windows would be ready and installed within 2 months of signing the contract. It took 5 months for installation and another month of revisions and correction to a badly done job. I would never hire them again nor would I recommend them. I paid the balance of my contract a month ago and still have not received my release letter. 3 attempts already... This company is the definition of incompetence! read more

Terrible!! worse windows company in Florida, their service is very unprofessional, the installation is performed poorly and there is practically no customer service in this company, horrible!! STAY AWAY!! read more

Worst Experience Ever! I hired this company to install shutters throughout my apartment, as well as one impact window in my kitchen. The salesman was very friendly and promised to protect everything and to get the job done on time (since I had a trip already booked) . He said that it would take just two days for the shutters to be installed and one day for the window, and that everything would be finished within 2 months. At that time he seemed very professional and willing to help. Not only did they not finish in the promised time, it took more than two months to start working. They also failed to submit the needed paperwork (license and insurance), they didn't reserve the swing stage, and I kept calling the company every day to follow up and nobody knew what was going on. They acted like they were doing me a favor and the seller was conveniently always in meetings and didn't answer my calls. Finally, after changing my flight 4 times, they came to install the shutters. It took more than one week to complete, they didn't protect my floors or anything, and they installed them poorly and we failed inspection. They tried to convince me that that was the way shutters work rather than admit their failure. Finally it took more than 2 weeks for them to mail me the release of lien, even though I paid everything as soon as the work as completed. I would not recommed this company at all! read more

This company is THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL company I've ever had to deal with in my life! First and foremost they managed to make a 2 day job stretch out for 3 months from start to final inspection. During this time it has been a complete nightmare. THEY HAVE BROKEN EXPENSIVE PERSONAL ITEMS AND STOLEN SENTIMENTAL ITEMS FROM MY HOME.... and NOTHING TO THIS DAY HAS BEEN DONE TO COMPENSATE MY LOSS. Not only did the installers destroy my authentic hookah BUT did not have the decency to inform neither I nor my sister of the incident. They proceeded in doing there best to clean up the broken pieces and dispose of the evidence BUT did not do a very good job. The next morning before realizing the hookah was destroyed, my sister stepped on a piece of broken hookah and severely cut open her foot. The injury could have been prevented if the installers would have informed us of the mishap and proper precautions taken to make sure the mess was properly cleaned up. The installers did not tell us nor give us the opportunity to see if the hookah was salvageable. It was disposed of by your installers with not a single word to myself or my sister, and the remnants removed from my home in an attempt to hide what was done. I am extremely upset not just by the broken hookah but also in how it was handled by the installers. They have made a mess of our home, failing to put back up the curtains in my sisters room and tracking saw dust throughout the unit. Replacing any window treatments removed at the time of installation should be standard procedure! One morning they even came to retrieve some materials to be used at another unit prior to doing work at our home that day, making me feel as if my unit was used as their overnight storage area. Lastly, I know this is south Florida, but the installers don't speak English and it is very frustrating if you are not bilingual. 1. Broken Hookah ($500 in value) 2. Missing/ Stolen items on patio including a Sea Fan and Coral 3. Materials left by contractors (incl. patio left in displaced fashion) 4. Door handle in second bedroom not secured and faulty 5. Molding around sliding doors destroyed 6. Cable outdoors left unsecured 7. Curtains not replaced in neither bedroom ...not to mention that the indoor furniture was left dusty, glass on floors causing injury, and bathroom used without permission leaving dirt on towels. The owner of the company has not responded to emails and just like his employees says he will be there at a certain time and NEVER SHOWS UP! IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING USING THIS COMPANY FOR WORK, I'LL HELP YOU OUT, JUST DON'T!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!!!!!! I WILL BE CONTACTING A LAWYER TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE OF THE STOLEN AND BROKEN PROPERTY SINCE THE OWNER HAS FAILED TO RESOLVE IT ON HIS OWN. read more

I usually don't write reviews but this company went out of they're way to help me get a beautiful product, at the best price and with great customer service. We got all our impact windows and doors for our Miami Lakes townhouse from General Impact. We first met with Alex Diaz and it was smooth sailing from there on. I can't say enough about Alex, he's just a legitimately nice guy who takes pride in his work and cares about his customer. I can be pretty intense and demanding at times but Alex was always there for me, taking my calls, helping me with my permit paperwork and anything I needed he never made me feel like I was bothering him. The installation team was professional, on time and they knew what they were doing. Special thanks to Hoari for making sure my windows were done right and installed professionally. I love my windows and I loved the service and the great price I got. I definitely wound recommend this company to my friends and family. read more

Back in October we hired General Impact Glass & Window to replace all the windows and doors in our home. We met with Alex and scheduled the install for the first week of January. A week before the install we received notice that they has not pulled the permit which was very disappointing. In February after obtaining the permit they started work on our home. While installing one of the sliding glass doors we noticed it was about one inch and a half too short for the opening. The installer noticed it right away and had a supervisor show up at the job the very next day. He came up with a few options to fix in which none of the options were acceptable to us as the door would have looked different then the rest. They actually asked us to cover up the inside so the building inspector would not see it. At that point we asked them to remake the door as it was obviously a mistake made by the person that took the measurements. General Impact claims that we are responsible for all of the measurements made by his company. So basically they were telling us every measurement of every window and door could have been wrong and we would have had to own them. We were not even in the state of Florida when the person came out to measure. The job is now complete and General Impact wont return our calls or answer our emails. They wont call for inspection and wont supply us the hardware for the other doors that we have paid for. Our last email to them was to offer to pay for half of the door which we thought was more than reasonable. We now have to hire another contractor to remake the sliding glass door that is too short. So please do not hire them for any reason as you will fully regret your decision. This is the first review I have ever written. So disappointing that a small business like them provides such horrible customer service. read more
