Dr. Gifford's care is top notch, he makes you feel so comfortable, setting expectations and explaining what he'll be doing, gives you the opportunity to ask questions, answers them confidently, he's patient, checks in with you as he's working. Timothy Giffords just did a extraction and implant forr me and it was a class act. He explained in detail everything, did a very thourogh exam, with the required CT scan. The procedure was painless (ok a little at the start in the numbing process), but once numb, no pain at all. He is a skilledful and talented DR... BTW, office staff is frendly and helpful also. Having been a former dental assistant for many years ago, I know a lot about dentistry. Now in my older years, I have a periodontal issue. I chose Dr. Gifford because he is conservative and only does treatment that is absolutley necessary. My recent visit with Dr. Gifford was pain free. He did a great job getting my lower jaw numb, I did not feel a thing! Dr. Gifford also educated me on how to effectively maintain and keep my issue from getting worse, which I truly appreciate! I was referred to Dr. Gifford my regular dentist for a tooth implant. I called the front desk on multiple occasions as I had numerous questions. The receptionist was always very nice and helpful. When it was time for the procedure I was quite scared, Dr. Gifford took his time to explain to me what the procedure was and what could be expected after the procedure in a friendly and calming manner and really helped ease my fear. The procedure went smooth and exceeded my highest expectations. At my follow up appointment I had the same experience, friendly and nice receptionist, and friendly and patient doctor. I've been sent to Dr Guiford by my usual dentist for worrying gum disease. Dr Guilford suggested wisdom teeth extraction, without any difficulty to get me convinced. Since decades they are painful and I had sometimes asked about the option to get rid of them, but previous dentists from abroad usually answered me it was better to keep them because they had enough room anyway, as a conservative approach. My concern has always been more about confort than about aesthetics. The procedure have been really simple, quick, and painless at the beginning. But it has not been as smooth and easy from start to end due to particularly recalcitrant teeth on one side. Nevertheless it for sure has been managed the best way possible. I'm totally impressed, as much by his technical skills than by his human skills. Dr Guiford has a precise gesture, takes care to avoid or minimize pain (in my opinion, a better option than general anesthesia), adapts to specific difficulties, and gets really efficient results without any further complications. All that is wrapped with a great sense of communication about what he's doing and what to expect next. Since then I've noticed great progresses: no more daily jaws pain, no more frequent clogged ear sensation, less jaw clenching, more efficient teeth brushing, etc. So it seems that it was the right decision. This needed treatment came late but at least it's been professionally successfully executed and not traumatizing at all. Also, office and medical team is friendly and well organized. Dr. Gifford is a fantastic and exceptional periodontist - incredibly skilled with impeccable technique, very personable and just a great guy to talk to, first-class in every respect. My dentist recommended him for a small gum procedure and I was delighted by the results. I would not hesitate to recommend him, especially if you are anxious about an upcoming procedure. He will thoroughly explain everything he is going to do, and, though I hope I won't need a periodontist in the future, he would be the person I would choose. As a result, I have been working with Dr. Gifford and his office for several years and both he and his staff have proven themselves to be professional, positive, and consistent. They recognize how anxiety-producing experiences involving one's mouth can be and do everything to ensure healing is our only concern requiring attention and energy. Klea manages the office with such proficiency that there are no unnecessary delays or headaches when it comes to insurance or prescriptions. She always wears a smile, whether in person or on the phone! From the first pre-op appointment onwards, Dr. Gifford was patient, thorough, and available to answer any questions or concerns. He clearly explained exactly what would be occurring during the entire procedure so nothing was a surprise. His pleasant demeanor and calm immediately put me at ease for each "day of". I knew he was in control and could handle anything unusual that might occur. Similarly, Dr. Gifford and his medical staff work well together. It is clear that his directions to them have been equally as clear, such that everyone knows their role and exactly how to execute it. Dr. Gifford is both compassionate and professional. With a long history of "bad teeth" and "gum issues", I have seen multiple periodontists over the past 30 years. Dr. Gifford is top notch, listening to and addressing my personal concerns. He took time to explain what could be expected of the results (and the results were even better than he described!) I saw Dr. Gifford a couple of years ago for an implant I needed. I was actually referred to another office but after doing some research of my own, I decided to go with him. Him and his staff were so kind and welcoming, especially the office manager, Klea . Dr. Gifford was extremely thorough. I was highly impressed that he asked to reach out to my orthodontist and dentist to confer with them. He took the time to go over his findings and plan with me, which brought great comfort. I would highly recommend this office to everyone! In fact, my dental office now refers her patients there and I just referred my mother there for the three implants she now needs. Dr. Gifford had some procedures performed on me and prescribed antibiotics for me to take. Without checking my medical file or consulting me he prescribed an antibiotic that I am highly allergic to, which caused a very serious reaction. I had to see my family physician for treatment. If he had simply looked at my file or even checked my record for the previous 2 procedures he performed on me he would have seen this allergy. Furthermore, Dr. Gifford requires payment up front. He charged me $140.00 then $863.00. After these charges were submitted to my insurance company, I found out that the contracted amounts for these procedures are only $65.00 and $258.00. When I asked him why he charged me so much more he told me he was no longer a provider for my insurance company. I asked since when but he couldn't tell me. I asked why I wasn't informed. He said "I don't do that." So I called my insurance company to see when he stopped being a provider and they confirmed that HE IS STILL AN ACTIVE PROVIDER. Needless to say, my insurance company has filed a formal complaint against his office. read more

I've had two dental surgeries this year and will be having one more next year. Dr. Gifford takes the time to fully explain everything pre-, during and post-operation, to make sure you understand whether your visit is for something you want or something you need (a big difference when it comes to what insurance will cover!), and, most importantly, to make you feel comfortable and at ease before, during and after any procedure. Never was anything omitted, never was there a problem of any kind, and my general dentist (who I've been going to my whole life) thinks the surgeries performed by Dr. Gifford are excellent. They did make one mistake -- the amount they said I owed for the second surgery. But because it was their mistake they took care of me, discounting some of the cost and giving me plenty of time to pay. I had a great experience with Dr. Gifford and his staff. I called to make the appointment right before the July 4th holiday. The day of my appointment, they called to say the doctor finished early, so I could come in before my scheduled time if it was more convenient. Dr. Gifford sat and talked to me, for a significant amount of time about the issues my dentist was concerned about. My initial fears vanished quickly, as he assured me that another health issue I've had for years is the culprit and not so much my decent dental habits. Dr. Gifford cares about peoples HEALTH. I made the mistake of going to Mexico for major dental surgery. This quickly became infected. I was referred to Dr. Gifford, and he phoned me himself! When he phoned me, I was already on a plane back to Mexico. When I told Dr. Gifford this, without hesitation, and without judgement, he spent time to advise me based on the x-rays he'd seen of me. I was so grateful for his generosity! Two weeks later, when this same issue began having problems (yet again), I went straight to see Dr. Gifford. I needed a Dr. who was actually on my side. Any other Dentist I had seen regarding this issue had given me bad attitude about going to Mexico, and had spoken down to me (All I can say is... walk a mile in my shoes and see what crazy decisions you make). But I felt no judgement from Dr. Gifford, he treated me as an equal, and laid down the information in a way I could understand. He's obviously smart, has an unusually fast moving mental capacity, and seems super confident in a humble way... RARE in the medical field. I have been to Dr. Gifford's office several times. Starting from the front office to the back office the place is spotless and smells fresh. You don't even think you are in dr office. Dr. Gifford takes his time to talk to you about every possible treatments and also pros and cons for each procedure. He is very friendly and patient with his patients even the kids. Dr. Gifford and is office staff are the best! I went in for an implant and he was very thorough with explaining all that he was going to do, costs, etc. I paid for the procedure and started the process. However, due to some other issues with my teeth, I eventually decided to have a bridge instead of an implant. I figured that since I signed a contract with Dr. Gifford that the money I paid him (and my insurance paid him) would be lost. When I called the office to discuss my issue, I could not have been happier! Dr. Gifford was VERY accommodating and immediately refunded me AND my insurance company in full! Even after spending his time working on my mouth! Klea his receptionist was sweet and helpful and took care of everything right away and I had my refund within days!
