SCH has painted two different homes I'm associated with, a garage, made dozens of repairs to my…read morefence, porch, shingles, roof, windows. The list goes on and on. I had no reference of the company prior. I just saw one of his signs in front of a house a few blocks from my home and thought I'd give a call one of these days... glad I did! - Superb Service. - Great Communication - Lowest of the four estimates I got. (first job) - Helped me choose colors and provided guidance - A crew of men with four trucks did the job faster than expected. - Four years from the first job and house looks like it was painted yesterday! The men at SCH Painting seemed like down to earth hardworking guys that really cared about the little things and paid attention to detail. Things like the walkway, driveway, my bushes and small garden all got covered each morning and cleaned each night when they left. I was equally impressed with the work they did in terms of construction etc. They seemed to have all the tools, all the answers, much more than I bargained for as I thought they just painted the exterior of homes. Once they scrapped down that first house and we saw all the real imperfections it was clear much work was needed, Scott just seemed to be one of those guys that could take care of anything as relates to the outside of my home. My wife and I were so impressed we of course had him work on our rental property two years later.... Not that I want the expense again...but the truth is, the next time I need anything as relates to the painting or construction of my old Victorian home I feel like I Got A Guy To Call!! Someone I can trust. The guy works hard and earned every single dollar I needed to spend to improve my homes.

Scott and his crew did a fantastic job and we couldn't be happier. The price quote was fair and we weren't charged more for "extras" like painting our porch rocking chairs and repairing several damaged areas that were uncovered once the siding was off. We were also impressed with the level of communication from Scott. He checked in with his crew onsite every morning and frequently updated us during this time before we headed to work. He also responded to texts quickly and took pictures for us of any rotted wood/repairs that were in places we couldn't easily see (like the third floor dormers). The workers were hard working, tidy, and professional. We highly recommend SCH and plan to use them again for some interior work this winter.

I have attached the "Welcome to Winter Hill!" email that makes for a great reference point of what…read moreNOT to expect from this "company". I received the welcome email once we signed and completed our contract with Winter Hill GC to take on our building's siding repairs. We then immediately sent the check for the first payment to the office and were excited to move forward with the project. The next form of communication (which I am not sure it would qualify as) was a refund check that we received in the mail 11 days later. There was no notice, explanation or additional context provided, just a check. Thinking there may have been some kind of mistake, I followed up with the individual who we had been working with (for months leading up to this, mind you) and the general email/phone number that was provided via the "Welcome Email". 5 days went by, no call, email, text, nothing. Finally, I was able to get in touch with our main point of contact (only after I was the one to follow up). I was told that they were sorry but they decided they did not want to honor the signed contract and no longer had interest in doing the work. Still no written communication from Winter Hill that this was the case. I am typically not one to write these kind of reviews but wanted others to be aware of this incident and advise to look elsewhere. To summarize, I'll reference the Co-founder & CEO of Winter Hill General Contractor, Claudio's comments in the welcome email - do NOT expect to be treated as "family", do NOT expect to be updated every step of the way, and do NOT expect them to get back to you if you have any questions. DO expect that after you sign the contract/submit the first payment you will receive a refund in the mail 11 days later, with no absolutely no explanation or other communication. THAT is the Winter Hill General Contractor Difference!

We hired Winter Hill to update our home with siding, mason work, and carpentry. The project took…read more6 months. They often did not show as planned. They did not communicate well. No GC visited the site to see the work completed. The initial mason added a bulkhead and repaired a chimney. It took 4 months to get them to hire a new mason to fix the problems. Through those 4 months we had constant water in our basement due to both the chimney and the bulkhead leaking. The gutters were installed yet not attached to the house. They needed to send a different gutter installer to fix the problem since the water was not draining through the gutters but over the edge. They quoted us $1800 to paint two small walls that were fully prepared. They did not reinstall the border on the hardwood floor correctly. Needless to say, I would never recommend using Winter Hill.

After reviewing the inspection report (which included the location of the property), they advised us they would need to view the property to provide an estimate. We settled on a date and time. They called 15 minutes after the scheduled time to advise the property was just too far (approximately 40 miles) and they wouldn't be coming. Half a vacation day down the drain. Two stars instead of one because I feel bad for the very nice woman who did call - it is likely not her fault. Also because I cannot speak to their actual work quality.
