We just had to throw out a whole Australian beef tenderloin that we paid $64.95 for when it was on sale. As soon as I took it out of the package it had a weird, chemically smell. I was worried but my husband said it didn't smell rancid so given the cost,m we cooked it. Not surprising, it still smelled and tasted nasty so we could not eat it. We have also bought frozen lobster tails there that once defrosted, smelled so bad we again had to throw them out. The store charges premium prices but in no way offers premium products. I'm usually a quiet person but next time I am disrespected there I will give that person a blast in front of everyone. Watch out for the quiet ones. 2+ months ago returned 2 Hagan Daz ice cream - icy/suspect melted refrozen issue. On 10/31 AGAIN returned 2 containers with similar icy consistently. The almonds were all clustered at top of container and icy. Giant asked if I wanted switch or refund. I said refund because I was gonna do some other shopping. This occurred August 8 - picked up 2 new containers that cost me $1.98 more! In 8 days, they raised the price .10 per and reduced the discount (on sale) by .79 per. Result - 24.7% increase per container! That is CRAZY increase in EIGHT days! Better shop around! read more

Terrible experience with an online order that was cancelled without ANY notification. Whoever runs that place does not understand customer service. When I called and learned my order was cancelled, the woman was very rude and said "corporate" did it. I have decades of retail experience and it's more likely a manager did it and then never notified the customers. This location is hit or miss. I would suggest shopping elsewhere. read more

I shop on line and this happened this month I have been charged not once but twice for an order. The store does not help but you have to call their headquarters. The second time my son gave me a gift certificate which I used for my online order but they not only charge the gift certificate but also my checking account. This was Christmas Eve. They still have not credited my checking account after several phone calls. Corp does know why and after spending Christmas and New Year's with still no answers or money returned in my checking. I WILL not step my foot or order on line from that store AGAIN. Are they trying to scam us seniors out of money or they do not want us to pay our bills or go to another food store to buy grocerie. read more

Moved to Millsboro six months ago. The Giant in Millsboro is our go to grocery store and the Long Neck Diner in the same shopping center is really good. Customer service at both places is great. I think someone mentioned that the Giant does not supply bags anymore. In my opinion they are trying to help the environment which I do as well. I carry some reusal bags in my trunk and take them in to shop with. "We are all in this together". read more

A newer facility, this Giant has really good selections across most categories, great produce, and a terrific bread section near the bakery. I can almost always find what I want at a good price. Now for the reason I did nit give them five stars: They need to train their cashiers better. The cashier is often your only human contact in a grocery store, and they too often make the trip a hassle. A few points: 1. Cold items go in the insulated bags. I put the cold items on the belt first thing, with the insulated bags on top of them. The cashiers and baggers invariably set those aside and put all of my cold and frozen stuff into the non-insulated bags. Seriously, I didn't think I could make int any plainer, and the insulated bags really stand out. 2. The belt is desogned to bring the goods toward the cashier and automatically stop when there is an item breaking the signal. There is no reason to turn off the belt, then reach farther and farther back on it for the items. That slows things down a lot and prevents the person behind from loading their stuff. 3. Each checkout station has a bag carousel. If I hand you a stack of bags, you can set up more than one of them at a time and distribute the goods appropriately. Putting all of my canned and bottled goods in one bag makes that bag unnecessarily heavy. 4. When theree are three people or more in your line, you don't have time to engage any of them in a detailed conversation about life, no matter how well you know them. Retail systems are designed to enhance efficiency and accuracy, but they only work if you use them properly. read more

As a longneck local I have been going to this Giant since it opened. A few weeks ago upon getting my Christmas bonus I decided I wanted to have some of my mothers crab soup. I went to the seafood section and the worker got roughly 100$ worth of lump crabmeat for me and i proceeded to continue shopping. I waited in line for a cashier and noticed a rather small man in a Giant uniform staring at me. Upon reaching the cashier to start paying for my items the worker approaches me in a snarky tone saying "What did you do with the crab legs, are you planning to steal all of this too?" I was honestly shocked because I had no idea what this man was talking about. I said you can clearly see that I got crab MEAT not legs like he seemed to think and was currently in the process for paying for them. I guess since I was dressed in sweatpants, and an old t shirt I was profile. He didnt think I could afford to buy this apparently. Even after paying for everything the worker CONTINUES to harass me and making rude comments as he walked away. I returned all of the crabmeat and saved 10$ buying it at the Crab Barn (great place btw). The manager and cashier were extremely nice when I talked to them, but that little snarky guy was incredibly rude. With Weis and Harris Teeter minutes apart I will not be returning. read more

Giant Long Neck is the best and friendliest grocery store. The customer service staff, the department staffs, the pharmacy staff, and the cashiers are all so helpful. I appreciate the self check-out area and the staff who assist there. For example, today I was helped by Janet who anticipated my need for a hand scan of my packs of bottled water so I wouldn't have to lift them onto the regular scanner. Thanks! read more
