This is my most favorite store in town. I love most things that come from Pittsburgh. Giant Eagle is pricey but you can find pretty good deals here, and you'll get them as long as you have a membership. I have a membership and it really does help to have one, because it really does save you money every time. Giant Eagle is local. Their products are high quality. I love their body wash. I love their bakery. I love their in-store prepared food. I love their deli. I love their meat. I love their milk. I love their produce. Giant Eagle is definitely better than Walmart. Expensive, but most things here are worth it. You can't go wrong with Giant Eagle for the most part. I would go elsewhere for certain items, I will admit, but for others I wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

The whole pork loin that was on sale was not whole. As a retired butcher who owned my own shop in Pittsburgh for 20 years, I should have realized by the weight (about 12 lbs.) that it was light as most pork loins 16 to 18 lbs. When I got home and preparing it for freezing, I decided to piece it back together and found that a portion of the center (the premium part and most expensive) was missing. It was probably sold as a center cut roast separately. Also the buy one get one free meat deals usually have a jacked up price for the first one. Tired of being ripped off on meats and higher than average priced groceries. Looks like warehouse clubs form now on! read more

There's not many other super markets around and they have s big parking lot plus located a short distance from downtown. I think there prices are a little high but the hot deli and deli are really good. I like the chicken read more

This is my favorite grocer in Fayettenam. It is independently owned, which is a shame because they will most likely not become a Market District or sell beer in the near future; but it's good to see the family who owns it not becoming greedy holier-than-thou jaggos like a certain grocery family on the other side of town. The selection is fair for a smaller GE. They've expanded the vegetarian and organic selections, and the produce is typically nice early in the day. There are hidden gems in the frozen and dairy cases, and you can walk out with some good bargains if you do your homework before coming. The deli seems to stay open later which is nice if you work and need fresh food on the way home. Great selection of canned goods and bread too. I'm disappointed that this location doesn't have a Citizens Bank branch. Many Giant Eagles have them and it's a much better banking option than some local brands. Also not happy that they did away with shopping baskets for small purchases. They implemented little black carts but lazy jerks tend to wheel them into alternate dimensions so you're stuck with the old, bulky carts with squeaky wheels. I've read complaints about the staff but I'm not sure what you expect from a grocery store. They get paid what Giant Eagle Inc. thinks is fair to deal with all the welfare bums and meth addicts and ditchy moms that make up 90% of Uniontown's populace for 16 hours a day. They're doing what they can. If you don't like them, use the self-checkout (which does have both options for a conveyor belt and 2 with a small bagging area). When you spend every shift dealing with pale zoo animals who pride themselves on how much steak, Faygo and cigs they can buy with your tax dollars, you become a little jaded to customer service. But I commend the employees who have stayed there for so many years. read more

I had called yesterday about sheet cakes and delivery and the guys wasn't quite sure about all my questions I asked if he could have someone call me about them and as promised he did! I got called today and the lady was so nice and so helpful! She made what I thought would be difficult so very easy and stress free!! Disgusting. The restroom is disgusting. I have gone in there before on multiple occasions and there is poop on the floor...so that means someone is tracking poop all over the store. They never have paper towels, and the air dryer never works and when it does, only blows fecal matter around. Then today, I saw an employee use the restroom and leave without washing their hands. Giant Eagle needs to improve their cleanliness standards and teach employees to wash their hands. Employees literally touch every item in the store, from stocking shelves to preparing food to checking out. DISGUSTING. read more

I just experienced the most HORRENDOUS giant eagle trip. As I park my car in the parking lot, I get out and instantly get a whiff of the most deadly stench I have ever smelt. I can't even describe the horrific stench it was as if an animal or body had died and had been decaying for days. Or even bloody meat that has been sitting out rotting. The entire walk into and out of the store I was gagging from this deadly smell and still get a hint of it even after leaving like as if it followed. Never again will I be returning to giant eagle after this incident. read more

This store marked my first time shopping at a Giant Eagle. I usually shop primarily in the produce section. Here you will find a limited selection of organic produce including garlic, bananas, apples and some leafy greens. It seems their variety of produce changes weekly as they run out of stock. It bothered me that labels for certain items would be posted without the product on the shelf. In addition, some items were not clearly priced. There is also a natural food aisle with some gluten-free and vegan options. They had Earth Balance tubs and "Amy's" frozen food options. I believe some of their healthier options are spread throughout the store, though. At self checkout, they have a conveyer belt instead of just a bagging station, which makes the process more time consuming to do yourself. Despite these drawbacks, this is the only standard grocery store I know of in the area. read more

This is an EXPENSIVE store with unfriendly staff but they do stock some hard to find items and have a convenient floral department. You need to have a giant eagle card for self checkout and sale prices. There is always a line at customer service where you get them. If you are in a hurry and new to the area, this store may not be for you. read more

Giant Eagle in Uniontown Pa are advertising sales and charging more at the register and the FREE items are not coming up as free. They'll give you your money back, but you have to give the free items back. Kellogg's cereal on sale for $1.88, Fruit Loops & Apple Jacks are ringing up as $3.49 & $2.99. I asked about the people who didn't notice they were over charged, they said if they don't notice, it's ok. So check your Giant Eagle receipts from the 4 day sale. You may have paid twice as much as they advertised. read more

We don't go to this store often, but there are some items they carry that you cannot get at other stores in this area. Their prices are higher than other stores and selection limited as far as having more than 1 or 2 different brands. My husband and I are always amazed that the employees in ALL departments are just going through the motions. They are just there. At the checkout the cashier took my reward card, swiped it, handed it back without even looking in my direction. I always say "thank you" when getting the card back. There is no response. The man bagging has been there quite awhile too. His expression never changes. He noticed a small item that had gotten stuck in my cart , picked it up, held it in the air in my direction, but never spoke. I thanked him saying I would have gotten home without my item. My husband made the mistake of going to the service desk. I have never gotten waited on there without waiting, even if I am the only one there. It is as if the employees wait for someone else to wait on customers. My husband commented that there was no " hello, how are you", no "thank you", etc. I read a review that said the employees get tired of dealing with nasty people. Sorry, we are not nasty. I do not demand special bagging, separation of food, etc. I am patient in line. What you make should not determine how you treat people. There is another cashier I usually see there who has been there forever. The customer behind me had a bag of candy break and they fell all over the floor. This cashier never blinked. The lady finally asked if she could get a dustpan or wastepaper can or something to put the candy in so no one would trip over it. The cashier just stood there while the other customer & I picked up the candy and put it into a Giant Eagle bag. I do not understand why there is this atmosphere in this store, but negativity breeds negativity, so we avoid it as much as possible. read more
