This location is the only one I like to get sushi at. They make it taste great and don't add a ton of carrots as filler like other locations do. They also always have the brown rice option available. One one time they didn't and the gentleman made it fresh for me. They even have Starbucks if you get thirsty while shopping. Staff is friendly.

The bakery here is the best of the surrounding Giant Eagles. The staff is always very friendly and incredibly accommodating. I often place large donut orders with them for school functions. I made a HUGE mistake in the amount I ordered and felt terrible. The staff was so nice despite the extra work they now had to put in and made it work while still allowing me to get to my event on time.

Isles always blocked by stuff being stocked, yet shelves always empty. This was at 11 am on a Saturday.

Seriously not going back here again. Produce was not stocked , no bananas, strawberries, lemons, or broccoli. Meat also no stocked, no ground beef, limited 5 for 20, empty hot dogs and bacon. Empty creamer and half and half. No Similac, no news papers. Peanut butter still out of stock after more then a month. At 11 am on Saturday. Keep in mind that I also could barely navigate the store since there were cart and carts of stuff blocking almost every Isle of stock waiting to be put out but nothing that was actually an empty shelf. I'm done. Will find a different store from now on.

Photo of their filthy restroom as described in my review - disgusting!

During my July 2024 visit, I bought 2 jugs of water, a small pack of frozen vegetables, some garlic bread, orange juice, and a small container of peanuts.

Rating - 3.5/5 I…read morevisited Elmwood Home Bakery in Lakewood on Saturday, 30 May 2026. Service was friendly and attentive. I was amazed to hear that this bakery has existed for over 70 years in the same family. I was looking for croissants but they don't bake those. They bake cookies, bread, and a few other baked goods. I bought a sticky bun (I haven't tried it yet), beer claw with walnuts, coconut bun, and a small biscuit filled with bacon (my favourite) plus a very small free cookie was given to me. Everything that I tried was good but a little dry. The prices were very fair and not expensive. I was told that their hours are Tuesdays - Fridays - 7am - 5pm, Saturdays 7am to 3pm. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. I spent $6.25 total which is a good deal. Parking is at the back of the business or street parking. I found a free street parking spot when I arrived. I'll probably be back to buy a pack of the small biscuits filled with bacon which is $12 for a bunch of them. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 111/250 total reviews in 2026 - 952 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 31 May 2026

Something is severely off with the guy that runs this business. I've lived on the block where I…read morewalk my dog...across the street from Elmwood bakery parking lot. He came out from his job to observe me with my dog while she was struggling (she has an autoimmune condition) so she was taking awhile while he stood staring at us for an uncomfortable amount of time while I'm standing there with one hand covered in a dog poop bag. I asked him if I could help him and he told me he was making sure I was picking up after my dog and she's not allowed to go there (not even his property!). I had actually planned on placing an order with them next month to bring to my corporate office but after reading many of the recent reviews about this guy I have genuine concerns about the owner's mental health as it appears to becoming a frequent occurrence.

The breads at Breadsmith are fresh and made daily. I don't come here often but I should. I love walking inside to the delightful smell of fresh breads. I first tried one of their breads, the Rustic Italian bread in January 2019 when I bought it from Nature's Oasis in Lakewood, a little cafe and convenience store (see video and picture below). I finally visited Breadsmith in October 2021 and I've been back a few times in 2024. I've bought their white Country Buttertop Bread ($6.75) which can be bought sliced or un-sliced. I've also had their Honey Wheat (I believe that's the name). Both tasted so fresh and good. After 3 days, their breads will start to taste stale because they are made without preservatives. Next time, I'll ask if I can get a smaller loaf of bread instead of such a large loaf because I can't finish a whole loaf by the 3rd day. They also sell muffins, cinnamon rolls, honey, etc. I haven't bought any of those but I've had their pepperoni roll before which was just fine and slightly expensive. I wish they sold croissants. Come here for the bread and stay for the friendly customer service. I'll definitely be back. The cost of all their breads are reasonable. TIP -- They offer a customer loyalty punch card. After you've bought 12 loaves, you get the 13th for free. **** GOAL of 150 reviews in 2024 - 41/150 total reviews in 2024 - 691 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 2 June 2024
