I am an avid Halloween Haunt enthusiat. Every year my Buddy and I select a place to enjoy the sets,…read morethe scares and have a blast. This year we selected Hotel of Horror in PA. The YouTube videos looked great and tickets were purchased. After our pre-haunt meal we arrived. The place was lit up nicely, creepy music playing. The actor who gave the instructions was on point, he was creepy, funny and into the festivities that awaited us. So this is by no means a bad review, however, there was just not enough actors to deliver scares. The sets were fantastic, using all the standard fare that all the great places use. That being said, again, just not enough actors within the haunt. We walked through several scenes without seeing an actor. For the price of the tickets (which are on par with much larger places like Penhurst Asylum and East State Penitentiary) Hotel of Horror just does not stack up with the big boys. Would we return? Probably not, for the money, would most likely return to one of the big boys!!!

The Hotel of Horror and Altered Nightmares are both indoor, walk through Haunted House attractions featuring live actors and paranormal activity housed in the 200 year old "abandoned " Pocono Mountain resort once called The Lake House Hotel, Saylorsburg, Pa. Open rain or shine with a covered wait line and free parking. Don't let the weather scare you. That's our job! Our revamped ticketing process gives you less time in line and more time in the attraction. The Hotel of Horror and Altered Nightmares Halloween Attractions are both housed inside the legendary Lake House Hotel intertwined and breathing next to one another, sharing organs and a circulatory system like conjoined twins. The sinister subconscious of the Hotel of Horror feeds off the dark energy that stains the lumber skeleton of this once pristine mountain resort, while Altered Nightmares celebrates the chaos that grows stronger as each soul travels through its decaying halls and abandoned rooms. They are open the end of September until the end of October!!

Actors get on the ride with you so it really keeps you on your toes. The field was just okay. The sets weren't as good and the timing for the walk through just seemed off. Entry took a long time even with purchasing tickets ahead of time. You still have to wait in line and show your QR code to obtain a physical ticket. There's a lot of fun things to do outside of the ticket experience. There was some pretty good livd music and bonfires. There were also occasional fire dancers on a side stage. Food was pretty mediocre. The funnel cake was good but the pumpkin one tasted the same as the regular. The cider was watered down. Overall we had a lot of fun.

Sleepy Hallow was a great thrill for some spooky Halloween fun!…read more I came to sleepy Halloween with my niece and nephew and we had a blast! I was able to purchase tickets ahead a team online and for the three of us it cost about 130.00 to see all the three attractions. At sleepy hallow you can experience the haunted house, the field and the haunted hayride. We decided to check out the haunted house first and I must say the actors did a great job, although I know it was all fake, it still gave me a great scare cause you never knew when some random zombie like person was gonna pop out. The field was fun as well. We walked the corn field while being chased by a crazy chainsaw man. Lastly the hayride was full of scary clowns and zombies popping out the bushes....oh my! Overall it's great for family fun and kids. It's also a good date night vibe. They also offer food such as funnel cake and pizza. They also have an amazing bon fire. I would definitely recommend visiting!

Had never done an ER and had no idea what to expect. I can't believe the level of attention and detail they put into these rooms. Since our veteran had done every other room, leaving ONLY the absolutely most difficult rooms left, I was kind of astounded at the complexity and probably wound up saying "oh, that's clever" or "I'm stupid" about five hundred times. We initially did a lost hiker room, and then later the new two hour room that they had recently opened up. Both were extensive, with multiple linked rooms, including "outdoor" areas (that aren't) that were immersive, with attentive staff that both sold their roles and kept the clues coming when we were confused. The two we did had horror themes, particularly the second one, that might have scared young children, but some of the easier rooms seemed to have less frightening themes. Again, I can't stress enough the level of detail put both into the clues, the experience, the sound system, the decor, it was all pretty amazing. On our first one, since there were no parties after ours, we were allowed to continue thirty minutes past our "deadline" since we hadn't quite solved it yet. I'm looking forward to doing some of the easier rooms too!

That said - our 'Ranger' was awesome. The puzzles are almost all understandable, and work-out-able. There's just SO MANY puzzles. It's a 90 minute room, and even an experienced team are going to be hard pressed to get out in time. We got lots of clues which kept us going at a fair clip and she definitely 'bumped' our time out to give that little extra we needed to get the last few done to escape. The puzzles are great - none of the '4 number padlocks' or 'keys to this box, and that box, and this drawer' - the puzzles are all unique 'natural' elements with interesting but *understandable* solutions. I've done a fair few of 13th hour's rooms - and they're all good, even the OG rooms from 2015 but Campground is a masterpiece, although Wizard of Oz remainds my favourite.

I paid fifteen extra bucks for this and it was well worth it. We got in at 7:45, our scheduled start time, pretty much just walked right up, told the gatekeeper how many people we had, and she let us right in. Walking at a steady pace, and avoiding running into the people ahead of us, or being bumped into by the people behind us, we spent about twenty minutes altogether inside the haunted house. I loved it, and definitely recommend this attraction. Very gory, compared to some of the other PA haunted houses/hayrides/etc. And at one point a monster pops and sprays water at you. That was very amusing to my group, though I read one reviewer here describe it as "physical assault" (lol). Very fun time and if they update it through the years, I'd happily come back and see what new crazy stuff they have for us.
