What really stands out is how proactive and caring he is. Ian personally checks the equipment from time to time--pump, filter, heater, salt cell--and has caught small issues before they became big repairs. During rainy stretches and algae season, they adjust dosing and brushing so the water never turns. They've cleaned the salt cell, backwashed when needed, and even spotted a tiny air leak at the pump lid that they fixed the same day. Professional, trustworthy, and thoughtful: he closes the gate for the dogs, roll up hoses neatly. This Start Pool Cleaner showed up when I was not present, let himself in through the side gate, without any prior announcement, and proceeded to do the cleaning without ever being asked to do so. I found out two months later that I owed them for cleanings that were never agreed to, and the owner came and changed my filter without my presence, which might have been better had he made it known in advance the actual day and time so that I could be there to pay attention to it. I paid another pool service the same two months, so I was double charged by Star even though I did not sign any contracts, or even meet them in person.

I read great…read morereviews before agreeing to have him pressure wash my roof and was so excited to finally have a professional individual come to do a job the right way and not rip me off nor take advantage. I was at work when he arrived and he did the job promising to help out anyway he could another day with any broken tiles etc. Never heard from him again and most of my plants all around my home are dying or dead and there are large brown patches of dead grass. I was asked if I recently had my roof done, because of all the dead foliage and have been told they should have aggressively hosed all plants and grass in surrounding area as so not to get burned by the chemical used. They also stated they used a salt solution and we could smell chlorine or bleach for an entire week after the job was done. A guy came to do the job three years prior and not one dead plant nor large brown patches of grass surrounding the home 1-2 weeks post roof being cleaned and charged half the price. Extremely upset that the gentleman took the check that I had left for him, cashed it immediately and I never heard from him again despite promising to return to walk my roof to let me know how many tiles I needed to replace and would get me the name of a guy that could help me fix my driveway. Heard nothing. Feel extremely taken advantage of again. It's really sad that people take advantage of hard working people assuming they are wealthy and can just replace all the expensive plants that have been killed by the chemicals he used. Was really looking forward to having lots of jobs done before Christmas since he said he was a really handy guy and could do many things and I haven't had much luck over the years I've lived here with finding genuine honest individuals. Really sad and disappointed. He even got another roof cleaning job from doing my roof in my neighborhood since he said he would walk my roof when he was returning to do another residents roof and I guess he saw all the brown patches in the grass and the dying plants and decided not to contact me every again. I purchased a house a few months ago. The couple I bought the house from did not realize they were…read morehaving so many issues with their pool. They said they liked Crystal Clear Pools and the owner himself had installed their salt system. I had the pool system checked out by a good friend with a lot of knowledge of pools and my pool company that we have been using for almost 20yrs. They both noticed that the salt system was not working and that that Crystal Clear Pools had been using chlorine instead of the salt system to treat the pool. No one had let the previous owners know their salt system was not working but were aware since they were using chlorine instead. Also the pump was not priming all the way. The pump was the first thing noticed by my pool company and friend when they walked up to the system. The previous owners were surprised and had the owner himself come out and fix the salt system. He replaced the main board and charged them $600. They told me that the owner said that particular pump was supposed to only fill half way up and that was normal. I doubled checked with my pool company and my friend and they said that was not normal. Then I called the manufacturer of the pump. They also said it was not normal and that someone needed to look at the pump. I called Crystal Clear Pools and left a message for the owner. After a few days someone from the company called and said the owner would get back to me. He never did. I called the company again and still did not get a hold of anyone who could help or the owner. The previous owners of my house gave me the direct contact for the owner of Crystal Clear Pools. When I called his cell phone he answered. I explained about the pump. He was very nice and told me he would be out in a few days to look at it. I asked if the warranty on the pump was transferable to me and he said it was. Neither the owner from the pool company or anyone else showed up. I called a week later and left a message. I did not hear back. About a week after that I called and the owner picked up again. He was just as nice as the first time I talked to him. He apologized for not coming about and assured me he would be out in a week. When he did not show up again I texted him (see uploaded screen shot) and he responded back. I asked him to be honest if he was going to show up. He assured me he would. He never got back to me and I told him I was moving forward without him. Its now been over a month. I never heard back from him. I was very polite and I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. He was always nice and assured me he would be out but his actions sadly showed me that he had no intention of looking at the problem. I had my pool company fix the issue. While working it they noticed Crystal Clear Pools plumbed the pool pump to where you could barely remove the cap to get the basket out of the pump (See picture). I do not like leaving bad reviews but feel I need to in this case. The owner has not provided quality work, service, or honesty to the previous owner or myself. There are a lot of pool companies in the area. I would try one of them before I would try Crystal Clear Pools.
