Do they go to Belle fourche?

Yes, we come to Belle Fourche and clean. We service areas an hour plus from Rapid City, so that's not a problem.

After site seeing during the day it was great to come back here and visit their tap room for local beers, wine & food if we were still hungry and then sit by the nightly fire. We used the full hookups with our class B travel van while our friends came in thief 40' massive RV's. The restrooms and showers at Black Elk Resort are beautiful, very clean and much larger than the shower in our Van so we used them nightly! They also have a laundry room. Bring your quarters. They also have many cute cabins although we did not have a need for them on this trip. We will be staying here again on our next trip to South Dakota and Custer State Park!

Mt Rushmore, Custer state Park, Crazy Horse etc. There is a beautiful covered patio area with BBQ's you can use & a nightly camp fire. Also, a bar, which we didn't frequent. Reality, we were disappointed from the moment we pulled in. The grass was NOT green like the pictures. I realize it was end of season, but, it was 90°! Why not water the lawn? We stayed in the front of the park, right next to the main road. Loud!! Not happy. The website pictures certainly don't show that! Our sights were so slanted, we had to use all of our blocks to jack up our trailer so we were level. Not happy. The water was BROWN! We had to use our water filter & run the water for quite awhile before it was semi clear. Needless to say, we bought bottled water for cooking & drinking. The water was ok for a few days, then almost zero water pressure for showers. By the last day, the water turned disgustingly brown again. Our water filter had turned from clear white to dark brown. Wish I could post a picture of it. We would never stay there again, due to these issues. Just want people to be aware, websites are not what they appear to be.

At first glance we thought we had made a mistake as we turned into the driveway of a tan pole shed looking building but upon driving to the back---WOW--- It was AMAZING! Newly remodeled and super clean this cabin contained everything from kitchen necessities to fluffy towels and a tiled walk in shower, comfortable beds, a grill to make dinner on and wonderful indoor/outdoor furniture to relax on. They also had outdoor games to play! Dining in after a small purchase at the local grocery store meant a very affordable way to consume healthy, delicious home cooked meals without feeling rushed along by a crowd. We loved this stay so much we decided to book an additional night. It was the most stress free portion of our trip. We saw deer every morning winding down the hilltop and as we returned from a long day of being elbow to elbow with people, it was a welcome & relaxing place to land. Hilltop Cabin was a quiet, modern lodge, with a spin of peaceful reflection at the end of a long day. We will definitely go back but this time, we may not leave this peaceful Hilltop cabin! Thank you Jerry at Deadwood Connections for your helpful guidance, great communication and for making our vacation such a hit! Pete & Tammy K. WI

The place was great, with more than enough room for our group of 8 (plus a baby). Large deck with hot-tub and propane grilled was used most mornings and many evenings. (though we didn't use the hot-tub, just enjoyed the deck). Full kitchen with most items you will need for cooking, etc. It's close to Spearfish Canyon (one of my favorite locations in the Hills) as well as Deadwood and Lead (gotta visit Sanford Underground Lab-surprisingly interesting). It's a little longer drive to many of the more popular areas (Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, etc.) but the scenic drive makes it worth it. Great communications from Deadwood team. When I come back, I'll use them again.

I had no idea that this was a "renovated" "junk motel" until I read the other review after I checked in. There is for 100% sure mold infestation in the laundry room. My son and I are susceptible to mold poisoning and both of us got headaches after spending only a couple minutes in there. Thank God we are only here for a night. My wife booked this place, but she said there were no other options in town on short notice. My wife said the manager or person she dealt with was super nice. All in all, I would never stay here again and don't recommend it to anyone unless this is all you can afford.

The room where you enter had a kitchen and a living room with a pull-out. Then there was door which led to the bedroom with the bathroom off of it as well as a large closet. We loved that the refrigerator was full-sized, and the freezer worked well and included ice-cube trays. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom had the usual amenities. The air-conditioning unit is in the kitchen, and we found the bedroom was warm compared to the living room. However, they had a large fan in the closet, so we just put that in the door between the living room and the bedroom and it cooled the bedroom perfectly. Check-in and check-out were easy. The price was right. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

STAY AWAY - ZERO STARS…read more Shannon Brinker is a known slumlord, which my husband and I learned the hard way. On day one, she blocked my phone number when I informed her that the heat was not working (during -20°F temperatures) and that it needed to be fixed, not just covered up with space heaters. Space heaters are a fire risk and cannot be left unattended (this includes when you are asleep). When she did this, we sent her a letter of demand and withheld funds when she still refused to fix the heat. With the fact that it was not only dangerous to our health, but also against our rights as tenants and her legal obligations as the landlord, we moved out and into a hotel. When we got an HVAC contractor out to inspect the mini-split heaters, not only did he tell us that they were out of refrigerant, indicating a leak in the system, but that even if they didn't have that issue, together the 2 mini-splits put out a total of 18,000 BTUs, and for the size of this apartment, it needed a minimum of 50,000 BTUs for the health and safety of any tenants. We mailed copies of this report, the lease with the clauses she violated highlighted, all of the evidence of these violations, and a letter of nullification to her and to her lawyer. Unfortunately for both of them, this showed us that neither check their P.O. boxes or have forwarding addresses, as both envelopes were returned to us. If you have any questions about Shannon Brinker or our experience with her, you may reach out to me at samantha.m.stortz@gmail.com

Now, I'm a bit of an admitted hotel snob, but my husband & I have been married over 25 years and he knows my limits and flexibility. He assured me the place was clean enough for my standards. We are Disney timeshare holders (DVC) and also patronize Airbnbs where we can. Otherwise I generally prefer at least a 3 star, Hampton Inn/Hilton Garden experience at a bare minimum. Sorry not sorry. This place is NOT that. It seems that since my husband's stay in 2018, and even since he booked our reservation earlier this year, ownership of the lodge has changed hands. While I'm appreciative that new ownership and the changes it brings, especially in this new normal of COVID, the service we have received this week has been dismal. I wasn't exactly impressed with the exterior when we arrived - the place is pretty 'vintage'. We were informed that there would be no routine room services performed due to COVID, and we found that we had had to repeatedly ask for things like towels, toilet paper and trash bags. This morning we specifically asked to have the room serviced since we've been here 4 nights now, yet we just returned from being out all day to freshly made beds, and nothing else. No towel restocking, no trash was emptied, no other cleaning, no supplies (hand soaps, in-room coffee supplies, etc) nothing. In my opinion this is pretty abysmal and completely out of the norm for a service industry. If a guest requests a room to be serviced, the staff should, at a minimum, prepare that room to a new guest-ready/turnover level. I was willing to overlook all the other stuff but today's experience was just a nudge too far. Who in the service industry goes into a room and ignores 3 trash cans that need to be emptied? Dead bug in the sink? We have 1 washcloth for 3 people. Nothing was vacuumed or wiped down and nothing restocked. We got a decent rate on this stay, but not good enough that I'm porting my own trash out on the regular and going to Walmart to buy toilet paper. This isn't a timeshare or Airbnb stay where more autonomy is expected on the guests' part. The hot tub is closed, which again, in the age of COVID is a no-brainer, but the area looks janky with a bunch of large rocks on the spa's lid. The front office hours are hit or miss and the 'breakfast offerings' are meager as well, with a few danishes and what looks like whatever yogurt cups were purchased the night before. No rhyme, reason, or standards. Interactions with staff have not been especially friendly or outgoing, odd behavior for a family-owned and run service-industry business. We have 3 more nights here and future return trips to Rapid City will be booked elsewhere. 2 stars because the view of Rapid City from up here is nice. Otherwise 1.

Even offering a tour to show off the property (which included a hot tub overlooking said fantastic view) and additional amenities (laundry, ice machine, breakfast nook etc). The room is a little small, but I cant imagine anyone spending a ton of time here (not sleeping) with so many things to do. We found it the perfect size for the two of us and our dog. Speaking of, this place is dog friendly, with an additional fee. Great grassy area (please be respectful owners, so this place continues to allow dogs) to play in. Not a lot of sidewalks on this part of town, so the grassy space was much appreciated. Not sure if I would get thr chance to stay here again, but I would book again for sure.
