This store was recommended to me by my doctor, however, my experience when I went in was far from stellar. The selection is fine, it was the customer care that was lacking tremendously. I walked in and noticed that the few associates on the floor were already with clients, however none of them greeted me or stated that someone would be with me shortly. A group of employees came out of the back room as I was standing by the front entrance, and without kindness a girl with huge fake eyelashes yelled "do you need help?" Unsure she was even speaking to me, I looked to the back of the store and said 'I'm sorry were you asking me?" She said again 'yes, do you need something?' .... I walked to her since she had stopped walking towards me and told her why I was there... you see at the time I had just had part of my foot amputated and the rest of my foot was very much misaligned/deformed from metatarsal breaks. I was very vulnerable and unsure as to what I needed in terms of footwear. She very quickly and in an uncaring manner did the size routine and promptly put me in a very ugly men's shoe (I'm female) stating that it was the only one that would work. I was on the verge of tears as I felt defeated, I was super excited to come into the store to find something great and your employee did not do her job. I took a photo of the brand and size of shoe she put me in and ultimately, instead of buying local, purchased my shoes online through the brand website (at a lower price I might add). I will not recommend nor set foot into this store ever again. Anyone I have spoken to about this experience of mine has had a similar one... so I would strongly suggest that the upper management vet out who they hire in the future. After getting abysmal service at a Lubbock running store I am glad I made the trek to Amarillo. I got fitted with new shoes, found a hydration vest, and best of all, salesman Jason showed me a Hypervolt percussion massager. Game changer for this stiff and sore old endurance runner. 4 stars for product selection. 0 stars for staff. I was totally ignored when I went in with my granddaughter for shoes that would accommodate her orthotics. There were two salesmen, one busy and one not busy at all. The un busy one literally sighed in disgust when I told her we needed a minute to look. He walked away and ignored us when she found a shoe to try on. I had to go to the front of the store, ask for a pair of shoes in her size, insert the orthotics, wait while she tried them on and walked around the store, then Redbox them and take them to the front to pay. If you have a pre-teen or are old, go somewhere else. read more

I love get fit! Every employee has been so attentive and has taken their time to take care of me and my husband when we've gone in. I do wish their selection was a TAD bit larger, but that isn't to say it's too small. I especially love the lone star runners club (which I believe is associated with the company). They will help you find the right shoe for your poison. I don't know of a better athletic store in Amarillo! Lastly, for those complaining about expensive prices... That's because they sell quality brands. Brands that are already expensive. The price of the gear is far worth the quality and life span of the item. It's better to spend more for quality. read more

I can not understand, why anyone thinks this store has great customer service or a great selection. When I visited today the staff were to busy talking to friends or shuffling aimlessly shuffling around the store baffled that people came into a shoe store to "try on shoes". I understand that Amarillo only has one speciality athletic shoe store, but I will NEVER go back to Get Fit. There is always the internet or a trip out of town. read more

I really want to buy local, and support local businesses. I really wanted to LOVE my first experience buying shoes from Get Fit Amarillo. I really wanted to write a raving review about how wonderful and efficient they are. But that's not going to happen. I came in and the service from Marci was great. I was patiently sized and fitted, trying several different shoes. I finally settled on the one I liked but the color/style I wanted was out of stock so I was told they would order it. I paid and left. We went on vacation two days later. When almost 2 weeks had passed without hearing, I called to check on the status. After some confusion, I was told that it somehow had never been ordered at all, but that it would be that day. I waited another week and called back yesterday. I was told by Beth that they hadn't come in, that she would contact the company because usually they're very quick getting out order. She rudely told me, "I can't order what they don't write down!" I told her I was about ready to just cancel the order since I had lost that warm, fuzzy good feeling about the entire situation. She requested I wait until today so she could contact the company and talk to a live person to find out the status. I agreed. Today around 2, I called and she told me she would contact the company and call me right back. I waited about 45 minutes and because I had some errands to run, I called back. Jason answered the phone and very curt and rudely said, "We have a FULL store, I am sorry we are busy and couldn't call you right BACK." He interrupted me every time I tried to say something. Finally I said, I'm tired of the excuses, and I just want to cancel the order. He said FINE! I'll tell her, and hung up on me. Beth called back about 20 minutes after but I reiterated that I just wanted to cancel the order and get a refund. I haven't checked with my credit card company to make sure this has occurred. This business is chaotic and disorganized. had I not called to follow up on the initial order, it never would have been ordered! Some of the employees seem to have issues accepting responsibility for mistakes, and Jason is flat out rude and should find a job that doesn't deal with people because he seems incapable to doing it in a reasonable and polite manner. Next time, I'm sticking with Amazon. I found the same shoes for less with free shipping and guaranteed to receive in 2 days instead of 3 weeks and without the condescending attitude of employees. read more
