It's a grand looking place in the middle of 2920 with a pretty little body of water in front. There's other empty looking plazas in front but take a drive all the way behind those, and you'll find a parking lot, to park by the French Quarter Salon. This place is extremely huge, and seems like a building filled with beauty various treatment businesses, so don't get too confused and just ask the ladies in front where to go. I got a bit confused and almost ended up going up the stairs, but decided to save myself possible embarrassment and just asked. The women at the front directed me on how to contact Monique for my appointment while I waited in the lobby. As for the entire experience, Monique gave me a sit down of the products she used, some useful tips, and answered any questions I had. While being waxed, she was very informative about what was going on as well as entertaining! It's weird to say, but I actually enjoyed coming here to get waxed. There was lots of conversation that helped me get my mind off of what was going on, and I actually felt little to no pain during the whole process. Nothing bad to comment on at all. I'll be coming back for another appointment in the future and do recommend any first timers to visit her and make an appointment on her website. I arrived right on time, in fact a few minutes earlier, but the aesthetician was 20 minutes late in getting me back. In the past, I would not have minded too much, but lately, I've realized the practice of respecting people's time (in general) is *not* alive and well, so I'm more sensitive to calling it out. Plus, I was already having a horrible day related to customer service events, so this was grinding my gears more than it should have. My newly assigned aesthetician was professional and worked quickly, and I appreciate her stepping up when one of her colleagues wasn't. I came in because I was referred by some relatives and had been following the Cutting Team on Instagram. I came in for a haircut and a balayage. I wanted a caramel color so that it would be a subtle change. I had let the stylist know that I had dry hair that easily tangled. I loved that as soon as I got in for my appointment the stylists/owners got straight to work with bleaching and separating my hair. When I had previously gotten my hair dyed it was at home with my sister. I had the pleasure of walking around and doing whatever I wanted. During the bleaching process I started to get fidgety but I didn't say anything discouraging about the process. I was confused about why I had to sit for such a long time with the bleach because I only wanted my hair a couple shades lighter. After the bleaching process, I got my hair washed and toned. The toning process took way less time than the bleach. After my hair was done toning, the stylists proceeded to brush out my hair. I had already told them about the nature of my hair and they still decided to use a metal roller brush instead of a wet brush. Because they brushed my hair with a metal roller brush on wet hair, just brushing my hair took so long and there was a lot of breakage. I'm not tender headed but with the amount of time it took to brush my hair and with the type of brush, my head was sore. They finally finished and we moved on to the haircut. When I had walked in to my appointment, they had asked me what kind of haircut I wanted and after I said "layers" they said "okay." I wanted lots of layers but didn't feel like I could say anything after the "okay." It was almost as if they knew what I wanted. I let it slide which was my fault. Since they already knew what kind of haircut I wanted, the stylist just started cutting. When she was done she said, "there, long layers." I didn't think much of it since you can't really mess up layers. After my haircut, I got my hair blow dried and styled. Overall, it took 5 hours for the whole process and I paid $306 after tip. It wasn't until the next day that I could see all the mistakes made. My layers are pretty much nonexistent and someone said they looked "chunky." My hair was also extremely off compared to the color I wanted and what I got. It was too blonde and looked like 2007 chunky highlights. I called back 2 days later to schedule a correction. The week of the correction appointment Texas had a winter storm with power outages and water issues. I hadn't received any calls from the salon prior to the appointment about rescheduling, mind you it was 3 days after the initial winter storm. I texted the stylist about rescheduling and she said appointments were cancelled until they were back up and running. I was understanding and wished her family well. A couple more days go by and The Cutting Teams Instagram made a post about how they were open for business again and yet I hadn't received a call about rescheduling. A couple more days and still no call, I finally called and scheduled the correction. When I came in for the correction I had let the previous and new stylist know that the bottom portion of my hair seemed lighter than what I wanted. The old stylist skimmed through my hair and gave the new stylist instructions. The new stylist was very friendly and made me feel comfortable. She sectioned my hair so that the back of my head was the only thing that was being re-toned. After the toning I got my hair dried and thought everything looked good. When I got home I realized that now the front portion of my head was a completely different color than what was perfectly re-toned. I'm am absolutely disappointed with the customer service. I had extremely high hopes for this place because of the referrals, reviews, and posts. I was let down twice. For my initial appointment I felt as though the owners/stylists were in a rush, inattentive, and cold. I wished the stylists/owners would have noticed that my hair color didn't match what I wanted after the initial balayage session. Had they told me I needed to come back to tone down my hair I would have been perfectly fine. For the correction appointment, one of the owners/previous stylist only skimmed through my hair instead of actually double checking their work and noticing mistakes. Everything seemed so rushed.
